I did pretty good for my first week of this challenge. I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets - that made me fell much better! I also changed two somewhat unhealthy meals and made them clean. I have always tried to make meals from scratch for my family, but I really want to make it a lifestyle. That is my goal with this challenge. With all the additives and preservatives and junk that is being put into our foods it is no wonder why we are unhealthy and are having trouble losing weight! That past 2 weeks I have cut out all fast food and feel so much better! Can't wait for week two! Bring it on!

Today is my first day of this challenge. I am excited and believe this is one of the best ways to get myself and my family on a healthier track. Today's goal: make my meal plan for the week and get my fridge in order. Tomorrow's goal: get my cabinets in order. Hope everyone has a great day! emoticon

This is also my first cooking challenge. The first week went well with not drinking soda. It is easier than I thought it would be. This week my goal is to cook a few recipes from my Sparkpeople cookbook that I just got in the mail. yay! emoticon I also need to organize my cabinets in the kitchen to make things easier to grab and cook.

Not sure if I'll use all of them, but one of the recent Spark Blog posts was a collection of a week's worth of meals. A couple of them are for crock pots and a couple more are soups.

I prepped a couple squash for tomorrow's dinner by cooking them in the microwave and scooping/cutting out the inside flesh. I have about 6 cups of squash chunks ready to cook for a few more minutes and mash with a little butter and brown sugar.

I think it may take me more than a week to whip my kitchen into shape. But I got a good start on cleaning the pantry, which had been on my to do list anyway. Tossed several things that I'd let expire or that just weren't very good options.

I think I'll have lots more room once it's tidy.

Planned my meals for this week. Starting a new job, so really need to be organized. Money is tight, so I'm trying to make healthy meals using what is already in the house.

my husband and I converted to brown rice a long time ago but always room for improvement, I cleaned off my dining room table it looks fantastic so i am going to work on keeping it that way , threw out all fast food coupons and have meals planned, I am proud of myself for following this through

started challenge today. so far I have successfuly converted most of my family over to brown rice [except the husband, he is VERY stubborn and only eats white rice and mostly white bread emoticon ] Also, I am making romaine salads to accompany our dinners on most nights as well emoticon emoticon

First week off to a good start. Went through the kitchen clean out all unhealthy foods- made my next weeks breakfast and lunch meals. I visit my mom every night after work and usually have dinner with her. We have have a dinner plan for the week all set up : )
