I'm taking a guess that you already have a recipe you use. Go ahead and use that same recipe. But after the soup has cooked, remove any bay leaves and remove the ham and cut into smaller pieces. Then use a food processor, blender, or immersion blender and puree just enough of the beans and stock (about a third of the total pot) to thicken up the soup and bring everything together. Season with salt and pepper and fold ham meat back into the soup.
Standard recipe for No-bake cookies: 2 cups sugar 4 tablespoons cocoa 1 stick butter 1/2 cup milk 1 cup peanut butter 1 tablespoon vanilla 3 cups oatmeal Healthy exchanges: 4 Tbsp cocoa- 4 tbsp chocolate whey protein. I use Jillian Michaels because it is really good with milk and PB. This is a low calorie way of getting an extra serving of protein. 1 stick butter- Use a stick that is a canola or vegetable oil blend. This will help lessen the saturated fat in this recipe. 1/2 cup milk- 1/2 cup skim milk. It will still serve its purpose and save on calories and fat. 3 cups PB- 3 cup reduced fat, fat free, or natural PB. Reduced fat PB is about the same price as regular PB. I hope these exchanges were helpful. I can't wait to hear from you on how they turned out.
I am so excited about this challenge. As a chef, I know my way around the kitchen and my way around food and how to create healthier versions of my favorites. I decided to make this topic, because I know there are people out there that need some help in getting started. No question is too big or too small. Good Luck!
