Thanks, guys, that's really encouraging :-D I have lots of leeks and carrots coming up, and my tomatoes actually came out this year (BIG surprise for me, trust me!) which is kinda a bummer cause I don't use tomatoes very often (I got depressed with the low quality things in the shop and stopped buying them, but sucked at growing them).

I also realized I do the same thing in my kitchen; I have SO MANY half-used bags of specialty flours for instance, and various rices, seeds, grains....I have just enough bulgar wheat for instance to use it as the base for a soup, and the same amount of pearl barley. I have a load of rice flour (I bought it for a cosmetic powder recipe, used 1 tbsp, and have no idea what to do with the rest), a large bag of dried, pitted dates....the list goes on!

This will be a fun week :-D

Just because you have been through the rain of life doesn't mean I have to walk around in wet clothes forever; there is a warm towel, a big hug, and a mug of low fat cocoa waiting for you somewhere!

That's a good goal. Set your sights on it, write it down, tell someone about it or do whatever will make you accountable for it. It will help.

Sadly, our garden didn't fair so well this season with the drought but we do have some arugula I'd like to use. It's not my favorite green but it is in abundance. I'm planning on doing my first 3 day smoothie challenge this week (from the Green Smoothie Queen site) and hoping to use up the arugula, or some of it, that way.

Good for you!!! That sounds like a great plan! Using what you have that is fresh and local is the way to go! Sadly, I can't say I can say the same, but I totally encourage you to have fun with it!

I sort of started for a while, but never got beyond the "thinking about it" stage; I'm in a much better place for it now, though, and would love to get on with it!

My goal is to use up the things I have in my garden; I have a habit of "organizing" things away nice and neatly...to the point where I can't find it again! I need to base my menu around the things I have an abundance of. Anyone else doing this one?
