I took a quick look at the kitchen drawers yesterday and the inside of the pantry. Things are pretty much all set up the way that they need to be set up.
Thanks to my daily habits, my kitchen drawers are not over-stuffed with things we don't use. They drawers contain just dinner ware, measuring cups (2 sets), measuring spoons (2 sets), the children's swirly straws, and the kitchen knives.
In my pantry, because we buy in bulk, almost everything is in translucent Lock 'n Lock containers. Breakfast items are on the left side, under the breakfast items are the canned vegetables, and underneath them are the fresh potatoes and onions.
Towards the back of the pantry, the containers hold the sugar, the flour, the Bisquick, the elbow noodles, the spaghetti, the brown rice, and the (heaven forbid) white rice.
On the right hand side of the pantry are shelves that hold all of my spices, vinegars, cooking wines, and oils.
All that REALLY needs to be done in the pantry, I think, is to double-check the spices to make sure they are not too old and need replacing, and to throw out the doggone potato chips!!!
I think I am right on target. What do you all think?
