I think it's a good practice to give yourself treats every now and then....just not daily. Portion control has been key in my weight loss so I weigh and measure just about everything. Somethings I'll portion out into containers or baggies so I don't have to get measuring cups dirty over and over. I also bought some glasses at the dollar store that have an indention as part of their design....I finger over that line is one cup of fluid.
Maybe try herbal tea instead. There are a lot of really good ones on the market including some dessert ones by Celestial Seasonings that I like. One of my favorite things to drink in the winter is hot water with plenty of lemon (at least a 1/2 medium size or bigger) and some truvia or honey.
I just looked up chai tea...I didn't realize how many calories it had; that could add up but as a treat it's ok.
