Hello
Just got back from the Dr to find out that my thyroid is acting up again........all of this hard work and it seems like I am fighting a losing battle again. Well, tomorrow I start again. Trying to find some different ideas and I think I have found something on the internet..............we will see..............staying to the plan............drink water, eat well and weigh and measure the food...........and the chai tea............is herbal............so there isn't any calories........unless I add sugar which I learned a long time ago to drink my tea straight up............LOL emoticon emoticon

Hi, Angel. There are a lot of tools here for our use but the most important ones are to track your nutrition & fitness every day, drink more water and watch portion sizes. I wear a pedometer every day to track my steps with a goal of 10,000 steps a day. I bought a food scale so I can weigh my food, especially meat portions. I have a goal of 8 glasses of water a day and haven't reached that yet but am drinking more water than ever before and haven't had any diet soda in weeks. I do drink black coffee and tea every day. Please post messages often so we can help each other with our support and motivation.

I think it's a good practice to give yourself treats every now and then....just not daily. Portion control has been key in my weight loss so I weigh and measure just about everything. Somethings I'll portion out into containers or baggies so I don't have to get measuring cups dirty over and over. I also bought some glasses at the dollar store that have an indention as part of their design....I finger over that line is one cup of fluid.

Maybe try herbal tea instead. There are a lot of really good ones on the market including some dessert ones by Celestial Seasonings that I like. One of my favorite things to drink in the winter is hot water with plenty of lemon (at least a 1/2 medium size or bigger) and some truvia or honey.

I just looked up chai tea...I didn't realize how many calories it had; that could add up but as a treat it's ok.

I try to eat as healthy as I can............sometimes I cheat......I do.....I'm honest.....I go up a pound and then down a pound.........I'd like to stick to it.........and also get back to walking..........I think the key is ................weighing and measuring the food...........so that is going to be my goal this week..........weighing and measuring even the little things................ emoticon oh yes I need to get back to drinking water and not chai tea.................but I'm cold and love hot stuff right now..........
