A very long time ago I purchased the coupon wallet you see advertised in the Sunday paper coupon fliers.
It came with some dividers but I added several more of my own cut out of cereal box card board.
In addition to more product sections I also added sections for restuarants, BJ's, Walgreens, CVS, Etc.
Every Sunday I sit down with my morning coffee to cut out the coupons for the products that I use.
Before placing them in the wallet I double check them against the store fliers.
It is easy to pick out the ones that have expired at this time, also.
I never would expect the cashier to stand there and sort through my coupons holding up the line.

Every two weeks a group of us ladies from our local Freecycle meet for coffee where we chat and exchange coupon fliers.
Yes, we sit there cutting them out. LOL

If I don't happen to have a coupon for a specific item when I need it I go to their web site to see if there are any to be down loaded.

You can find loads of printable coupons online.

I have a friend who gets so emabarrassed shopping with me because I do use coupons.
The last time she was with me at BJ's she huffed and puffed while I was checking out.
I waved my reciept at her saying
"I just saved $36.00 on the products I had on my shopping list."
I look at the little bit of time it takes for me to do my couponing as if it were a nice little part time job working from home.
On just that one little shopping trip I 'earned' $36.00.

There is a couple in town who collects expired coupons and sends them over seas. Those in the service get to use them for an extended six months.
I am afraid I do not know the details.

I love using coupons! I bought a plastic coupon holder on amazon for about $5.00. It has several pockets and you can name the sections anything you want, so I named them the sorts of things I buy most: pets, frozen, cereal, etc. Then, I named a few sections for specific stores because I often get good store coupons and then forget about them. I clip coupons for anything that I might buy, but only use them if I actually need something. Once in a while I go through and get rid of the expired coupons.

I usually let the cashier sort the coupons out as I pay for my weekly shopping. Either they're good... or they're not.

Once a week my community has a little sale paper that most of the time also has coupons. Plus on the AIM Start page with news, once a week, one of the items mentioned offers print-out or add to your shopping card coupons. I only get coupons for things that I know I will use, rather than clipping all kinds of stuff. I keep them in a little container and once a week when I am finalizing my shopping list, I check the coupons and also check their expiration dates. Then I am prepared for my shopping trip.

Does anyone else have ideas on collecting, sorting and using coupons? Between the meal planning, making the grocery list and then utilizing my coupons, I feel like my grocery habit is becoming a 24 hour job! emoticon
