It was boring when I took frozen low calorie brand name lunches, but since I now plan for leftovers to take I'm rarely bored. I freeze extra's of my dinners so I have variety. I add a vegetable such as baby carrots or bell peppers and sometimes brown rice or quinoa. I take a variety of fruits. and yogurt. I am rarely bored now.

I know sandwiches can get boring, so what about wraps? You can get a healthy wheat tortilla and fill it with whatever you have on hand- protein and veggies! Turkey, hummus, tomatoes, bell pepper, sprouts, or you could go Greek and do feta cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes? If you have leftover chicken, you could throw that in,too!
Since I plan all my dinners carefully, the idea of dealing with lunches seems like a pain for me. Therefore I tend to take leftovers of low cal frozen meals which are great for portion control. I supplement with fresh fruit now, or individual servings of applesauce or sugar free pudding when the fruit isn't so available. I also rely on Progresso soups from time to time.
What do you guys put on your grocery list for lunches? There has to be more than leftovers and sandwiches. I want something not too heavy, and not too many ingredients, because we can't afford to have ingredient heavy dinners AND lunches.
what I mean by ingredient heavy is tacos. need the meat, the taco kit, the lettuce, the cheese, the tomatoes, etc.
