I just had my 3rd baby and I've decided it's time to stop putting off taking care of myself. With every pregnancy I've put on more and more weight and I want to stop using my kids as an excuse for letting my weight get out of control and for not taking care of myself. I want to get back into shape like I was before I had my first and to get my weight down to a healthy weight. My kids are all very young (under 4) but I want to be an good example to them about eating healthy and not just a do as I say not as I do.

I started this challenge today to kick start my weight loss back up. I started loosing my weight 3 months ago and i am at a stand still or maybe I am just board with going to the gym everyday. So I am hoping that this challenge will motivate me to get back to it. I really want to be a good example for my kids. And show them that everyone can loss weight. emoticon

Today is day one on the challenge. I am at my heaviest in the last 5years. My weight is hurting my body. I am here to change things for good.
This week I am trying to stay focused and take it one day at a time. I am going to work out and try to keep moving during the day more.
I am going to stop my negative self talk and begin using positive non food rewards for good weeks.
I'm doing this for me first, so I can be here for my children and my husband in a better way!

I would like to lose the 12 lbs. I've been carriying around for no good reason. I know my back feels better, clothes fit better and I have more confidence, when I'm in control of my weight. It transfers over into all parts of my life. Exercise, to me is the most mood enhancing drug there is. Plus, it makes me a nicer person!

Looked into this last week. and plan to start the 28-day challenge on August 1st.

I am a long time Sparkpeople member. I "fell off the wagon" about 2 years ago due to the pressures of graduate school. I was giving all my "me" time to completing assignments, and between work and family obligations, as well as volunteer pursuits, I let exercise and healthy eating fall to the wayside. In the process, gained back 20 pounds maintained as "off" for 8 years, and gained an extra 15 just for kicks…..

Graduate school almost complete, with only "capstone" (like a thesis) work left. Plan to spend the next three months getting back on track, and hopefully staying on track for ever after!

I am just starting on week one. I hope to lose a few pounds and mainly get into shape. I am so uncomfortable with myself and so hard on myself that I am afraid it will start to effect the way that my husband feels about me. Today was the first day of my bootcamp challenge. I'm hoping to lose 10 lbs. during these 28 days. I also want to establish working out consistently on a daily basis. I would also like to gain flexibility & strength, so I'd like to begin doing some pilates. I have set a lofty goal for myself and am determined to achieve it. My goal is to be at 299 or less on August 30 (my 60th b-day). This gives me 34 days to lose 32 pounds, so just under a pound a day. This goal is extremely important to me and I am doing this challenge as part of my path to reach it!

I set myself pretty 'small step' goals so for this four week period I'm going to be happy with a loss of 1kg - anything more is a bonus. What I know is that even if I don't lose weight as far as the scale is concerned I get fitter and fitter each week!

Nothing tastes as good as being fabulously fit at fifty is going to look and feel!

I have all ways started trying to get fit and healthy and never stuck with it. But I am 42 and two months ago my weight was 230. I have worked real hard and lost 20 pound and feel real good. I am determined to lose 50 more pounds. I really feel like I am going to do it this time. emoticon emoticon

I am looking forward to doing this challenge. I have the 28 day boot camp by Nicole and will be using that as well as:


Qigong or Yoga daily as I love both disciplines
Body Pump (weights and abs at a friends house who has a personal trainer come in)
Recumbent bike which I have in my workout area in my home
Walking/Running as my plantar's will allow
P.A.C.E. by Dr. Al Sears....

If I can do this for 28 days, I can do anything :-)

On a juice fast right now to get my micronutrient intake up....starting tomorrow on the 28 day bootcamp..

It's past time to get busy! I am a very mommy active lady because of my two very active boys. However, regular fitness has not been a priority on my one more thing to do list. My goal is to make fitness a constant in my life. I feel better when it is and the boys need to know its benefits early on so it will become a habit for them.

I feel that today is a good day to start getting serious about my running. I have been jogging now for a while and i have plateaued at 214 and just need a little extra something to get me down closer to my goal.
