I eat a lot of turmeric.....somehow I crave Indian Food and mostly vegetarian food.....but I am not a vegetarian. But since I have been on certain medications, I find that Meat doesn't appeal to me much.

So I have been eating lots of chickpeas and cauliflower and other veggies. I am glad to hear that turmeric has some benefits!

Thanks! emoticon

GDRENZEK: turmeric: you can find a lot of info on this reputable website: www.cancer.org
For me, I went to an acupuncturist for my osteoarthritis pain and he noticed how much swelling/inflammation I had in my hands. He recommended taking turmeric supplements. You can onto Dr. Andrew Weil website for his recommendations on how much and what type to purchase. My hands have NO more inflammation. I can actually clench my fingers and wear rings again. I called my pharmacist to see if it would interact with my meds and she said no. Just wait 30 minutes between taking meds and turmeric. She said everyone should take it. I gave you my experience and reputable websites since I am not qualified in medicine/herbs in any way....except from my experiences. :) Email me directly with any other questions. I almost didn't see your post. And good luck !

Great! I am so glad to hear the good news! Baby steps. I remember Last year going to the doc with a new, constant pain in my arthritis hand/arm. He asked 'when does it hurt'. And I showed him the movement. He said to try to not move it that way for a month and gave me an alternative way. It worked. He said NEVER stop excercising... Be it walking or whatever. No matter if it is 10 minutes a day. It strengthened my arm and gave time for the hurt to rest an heal. Along with turmeric supplements to help with the chronic inflammation.

When I first started this challenge, I had my doubts about my abilities. I was afraid my back was not strong enough for regular exercise and that it may cause me some pain. But the opposite has happened. I think my back is actually stronger and I have been able to walk more and more as the weeks have gone by, so much so that I have entered training for a virtual 5K race in October.

My long term goal is to continue training for the 5K races. I continue to feel stronger, have more energy and have even seen some weight loss. I have to learn to try before giving up on myself. I have to not be afraid of my goals.
