I didn't try a Coach Nicole video but I didn't add something fun to my workout. I got he Body Gospel DVDs. They are cardio workouts set to Comtemporary Christian music. They are fun, but a definite challenge!! It was a successful week

Gosh. One way to get in a lot of steps is to do some Christmas Shopping. I got started yesterday and my tootsies were killing me but I sure did a lot of walking. Parked far out from the store too in order to get even more steps in.

I missed exercising yesterday and boy can I feel it. For some reason, I ache even more if I skip a day of exercise. All the more reason not to skip even one day! emoticon

This week has been a struggle because I was on a 5 day business trip and had a 3 hour time change (2 1/2 days) and a 2 hour time change (2 1/2 days).
* Sunday before leaving home I got in nearly 90 minutes of spinning, strength training and stretching.
* Monday I did 2 miles of brisk walking (1 at Oakland Airport, 1 at Phoenix Airport)
* Tuesday I went to the Y connected to my hotel in Charlotte--awesome facility so I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of weight machines inc some my home gym doesn't have, and 5 miinutes or so of stretching
* Wednesday was touch with a 6am flight from Charlotte but I did 1 1/2 miles at airports and after work in Minneapolis
* Thursday I hit the hotel fitness center first thing for 15 elliptical, 15 treadmill, 15 weights and abs, 5 stretching
* Friday I felt really beat up so barely got in a mile at airports--just couldn't push myself further
* Saturday, I'll be off for my usual Saturday morning nature walk--at least 30 minutes with fresh air and acquatic birds

All in all, I did better than usual on business trips and I'm proud of that. This morning I watched SparkPeople videos and finished up my week 3 action steps. On to week 4! emoticon

My favorite thing to do spread throughout the day is to dance. If I'm sitting at the computer I try to remember to get up and put on some music with a nice beat and just dance!

I ordered the Zumba Exhilarate DVDs and they just came on Friday. I have found a new exercise that I really enjoy! Right now I'm just learning the steps, but can already tell this is going to be a fun way to get more exercise!

I have struggled this week to get my exercise in due to other factors out of my control. However, each day is a new day to start a clean slate!

Took measurements today and also ran off hard copies of graphs. Looking back to February surely gave me some much needed inspiration. I have come a long way. What I am noticing is that the 10 minute streak is really helping me stay focused at the end of my "to goal" process.

This week was hard but I made it through. emoticon

I got want to do it and do this for me. My mind is in battle and my body is at war. I'm in battle with myself and if I can over come myself than I can over come it all and do it one day at a time, let it go and get one step closer to my goal.

Where do you find these videos at? My week 3 wasn't so great, I did my 10 minutes or more everyday but I feel I'm starting to get bored.

Wow! I really appreciate the nice compliment you gave me about adding a weight to my Walk-at-Home. I am happy to meet another indoor walker, too! emoticon

I've thought about getting more of Leslie's walking workouts but haven't taken the plunge yet. I love the fact that you get a good workout without a lot of fancy movements. I am very uncoordinated and feeling frustrated with some other workouts I've been trying because I just can't get the multiple movements down. I also find her encouraging and never tire of what she is saying during the workout. I feel encouraged by your post so I'm going to look for more of her workouts and the sets she puts together, choose at least one and use the new set I buy to ramp up my routines. Thanks so much for your reply to my post.

I have the Leslie Sansone 5-Mile Challenge Walk that came with 2lb hand weights! What a smart lady you are to come up with it on your own! It really does add something to the walk! I got my DVD on QVC a few years ago,it was a special set she put together. I don't know if they still have it but you might enjoy it. There are 5 different 'mile' walks. You can do 1 or any you choose or all of them. The set also came with stretchy bands. It works in upper body workout with the weights & bands besides walking and is a lot of fun. Nice to meet another indoor 'walker'! emoticon

There is a song on a show that my Grand Kids watch and I think it applies : "Keep trying, keep trying, don't give up, never give up" I intend to keep trying and I will never give up till I reach my goal!

Nothing happens overnight. Remember one pound lost is one pound closer to your goal.

Get up every morning, take a deep breath & make it the best day that you possibly can.

With you all in spirit everyday.....Gery

It's true that one of the ways to most assuredly get tired of exercise is to do the same thing over and over, day after day. I haven't done that, exactly, over all the years that I've exercised but what I haven't done is to make sure I increase intensity at appropriate times as I become more fit.

As guided, I searched for a way that I thought might add some more fun to working out. I decided on something very simple to change-up a workout I've had in my repertoire for a while now. I added a 2-1/2 pound weight to my Leslie Sansone Two-Mile Walk-at-Home. This is not something that is shown in the workout at all, but I saw no reason not to try it. I did different things with the weight, like playing "catch" with it between my two hands during the walk and alternating hands during periods of arm movement.

Okay, so it's not the most "exciting" thing to write about. I didn't do any mountain climbing or any other thrilling sports, but what I did added a new little twist to my walking workout and made it more interesting, fun, and challenging. I definitely sweated more!

Like last week, I really am glad I signed up for this challenge because it ALWAYS nudges me to do some kind of exercise every day -- and I really like that!

Hope everyone else is doing well! Now it's on to Week 4!
