Almost got week 3 done and am keeping with the program. I will continue to do my 10 min. a day and then some. 10 minutes now just don't seem enough so have increased it. Walk 1 mile (20 min) kitchen exercises (10 min) Phy. Ther. strengthening (10 min) and all the usual house and outside jobs.

is going to lose some weight in Sept., even if it is just a pound. Ten pounds at a time.

Today ends my week three here and during this time I signed up for and began training for a 5K run.
I completed week one of that and start week 2 on Tuesday. I am able to walk 3 minutes then run for 2 minutes now when I am out training and can do this for 30 minutes. Maybe I can do it for longer however I am following the training program to the letter.

Now onto my last week of this program and I am so happy that I have found more activities to keep me going on my healthy journey.
I have BLOGGED every day about my fitness, goals or successes

I have also incorporated doing Spark People videos at times for a good workout when I am indoors.

Hi there everyone. I am just starting week 3 today and will be using some of the fitness videos that Spark People offer as well as my usual power walking and cycling.
Hoping to incorporate some new strength training moves into my daily routine.

Everything seems to be falling into place and I'm feeling pumped to do more each day.. emoticon

I have finished week 3 and have made a few discoveries:

I can do 10+ minutes a day

I actually look forward to the weekend and my days off because I really like my early morning emoticon I didn't think I'd ever say that!

I also enjoy riding my stationary bike. I usually do that in the evening while watching TV

I love this challenge!

During week 4, I will add resistance or strength training.

Week 3 is complete! I added some variety by helping my nephew more to the 3rd floor of his college dorm, weed eating, and playing soccer with my grandson. It was a great week. Week 4 here I come!

Have been missing a lot of walking days this week due to early trips out of town and purely needing rest! Spent the day and night in clinics and the ER Tuesday for severe anxiety and dangerously high B/P! Still resting Thursday Wednesday was anxiety free, with no need for medication! emoticon Starting the day Thursday at peace, with the whole household still asleep at 7:47 am! Doing some FBing and Sparking! Got a full 8 hours sleep last night, but that meant missing my early morning walk! To me, it was well worth it. I need my rest first!!. Beginning a great Thursday! emoticon

Starting week 3 of the 10 minute Daily Exercise Challenge today! emoticon

Thinking I'll do the arm & shoulder video this week. Used to use 5 lb weights, but don't think I can manage that now. Going to WM today and will probably pick up a pair of 2 pounders! emoticon

Will have to see what I'd find fun! Not very fond of exercise. I do what I must!

Looked over list of fun ideas and 3 stuck out to me!

1) Walk & talk. This is fun! Have done @ twice before! Walk breezes by. Will call sis-in-law one morn this week @7 am while I'm walking in the park! It'll be @8 there.

2) I'm wearing my pedometer today and walking 1+ mile in the park early this morn and then going shopping in the big sores in Laredo today! Thinking I'll get over 5000 steps in and it'll be fun to see what I actually get by the end of the day!

3) Am planning to race against my past times in a SP 5K Virtual Race the first wk of May 2015! Need to equal to or less than 58 minutes! emoticon

Day 1 of week 3 for me! I'm struggling today with emotions and emotional eating, but I'm about to go hit up the elliptical for some cardio and see if it lifts my mood, and then hubby is dragging me to the gym later so I'll end up in spin class :-)

Week 3/day 4 emoticon

For week 3, I'm choosing the Seated Arm and Shoulder Workout. It's been quite a while since I've toned and strengthened my arms and shoulders, so I'll be using 1 pound weights. That's all I have lower than my 5. emoticon

Hoping to talk to my sis-in-law on the phone when I walk this morning. Wed when I did, the walk was fun! I sent her a chat msg on FB asking if I could call her, but she hasn't responded yet. I'll just go ahead and give it a try!

I haven't picked a SparkPeople 10 minute video to do this week yet, but I know it won't be cardio as I have no space in my office/TV room. It used to be an office/workout room, but we recently added a a large love seat so that we could convert our living room to my DH's bedroom, complete with a double bed! I used to do Coach Nicole cardio videos 3 times in a row for 30 minutes, MTWThF (5 days a week) and I got in good workouts and "kind of'" enjoyed them. They're great, fun routines but I really don't enjoy working out. I stopped doing them after about a month or two. I think if I'd done less minutes, like 10 and less often, like MWF, I would have enjoyed them more and even looked forward to them. I'm still walking after 3 weeks (1 before I started this challenge and 2 of this challenge), but I'm only walking 3 days a week, MWF, not all or most days. So, I've hung in there 3 weeks without quitting. I enjoy my 10-15 minute walks and I look forward to them! I even think I'm starting to make exercise a habit. But honestly, I wouldn't miss it if I stopped. I would, however, miss feeling good about myself for doing it!!

To make my walks more fun this week, I'm gonna call my sis-in-law in Michigan when I walk! I hope she's up at 0800 her time! She was this morning and called me! I lost track of time during my walk and I walked 16 minutes with a 9 minute cool down. I planned on 10 minutes with a cool down. I didn't notice the "work" involved, either! I would like to continue to do this beyond this week! I'll ask her!

I think it's gonna be a good week 3!

So I've been doing a variety to sp coach nicole exercises - Nice and good to mix them up 10-15 min for each, gives little breather to equal my 30 min - doing 2 diff coach exercises and then 10 min air climber stepper along with my 10 min dog walk 5 days per week. Excited 2 days in a row I've maintained weight that's been forever to get to, on the high end at 160.8 lbs, but I'm almost under 160 which haven't been in 150's in 6yrs

Week 3 was easier in the sense that now it is coming more natural to take 10 mins of my day to focus on exercise. It was a challenge to do the workout video, I just did not make the time but then when I finally committed to doing it I thought to myself, "that was easy" It's funny how the mind works. Thanks for the challenge!!!

I purchased a fitbit in May, I found that by having on my wrist 24/7 it reminds me to move, and I am moving a lot more then I have before. I am going to try and get all my measurements logged in this week. Baby steps for me I think.

YES I CAN

The fun I received in this 3 week challenge was finding videos here and one I purchased that allowed me to do some indoor in A/C and still getting my exercise going and even increasing the amount. Tracked over 77,000 steps and increased calories burned.

Using parts of different videos is a great idea.

I hope the kids learn as much from me as I do them.

Used parts of two video workouts and then at end of day decided to get in one more. Recorded over 11,000 steps on my tracker. Love to make the challenges work! Maybe the challenges make me work! emoticon

Got a new Leslie Sansone walk DVD and love walking in AC comfort. Her walk coaching moves more muscles than I would just walking outside though I enjoy both!

Yay! I know this won't sound like a big accomplishment to some, but it's a biggie for me!

I was able to exercise without feeling exhausted after only 10 minutes. I just kept exercising and actually felt fantastic! emoticon emoticon

Well done, just a tip but I am not sure it will work with knees. I pulled a Hamstring and found that if I walked with my toe pointing a little outwards it took the pressure off. I am not saying it will work with a knee but anything that makes it more comfortable can only be good, but be careful.

Sorry, little late, but week 3 went pretty good, even with my knee acting up. I did some videos, I found exercises that would not aggravate my knee and exercised each day. I went out almost every day and walked as much as I could with my knee. I really enjoyed getting out of the house and seeing the wonderful colors. I also cycled, which according to one video I watched helps strength the knee. All-in-all, I was pleased with the results. emoticon

Well done, but remember you can exercise sitting down, so be careful with the knee

Yesterday I tried the first day of 10 minute boot camp. With a bad knee I was afraid to do the jumping jacks. Today I will try another 10 min workout before I do my regular walk.

Week 3 is going to be fairly easy for me as I already do the majority of these things listed. I do zumba, walking daily to and from school with the kids and twice a week with friends. Planning an active weekend and mostly going to be on the move this week!

You are right not to use the treadmill, I have two friends that had their knees done last year and one was using the bike to good effect but it was a while before you could use a treadmill. They are both walking well now I am glad to say.

Since I hurt my knee, I do mostly cycling and stretches, mostly for my knee. Tried treadmill, oops not good. Took yesterday off, cycling today. emoticon

I have been walking a lot, making sure I get 5 miles in daily, I do strength exercises when I am not on my work schedule, so not much the last few days. logged in over 40 miles this week on my FitBit. Just got my exercise ball the day I went back to work, so looking forward to doing some different exercises to mix up the routine.
