Have continued to hike with the dogs each morning. Did 2 hours of gravel shoveling and spreading yesterday and in the process lost my fitbit. Now I am feeling depressed and have lost my place in my steps competition because it has no steps to pull from.

I have been working in the yard. My sister's yard goes WAY uphill. I have been spending at least 15 minutes extra a day, cleaning up tree branches.

I have added dancing to my workout. I forgot how much fun it is to dance. I am also enjoying the TaiChi class I started last week, and will continue this for at least 3 more weeks, possibly extending to the next 5 week session. I feel I am doing well from a fitness start but apparently not doing enough to help the weight loss, which has been minimal. I am doing more cardio, which i hope will help.

HELP! I have seen page tickers that show various streaks like the number of days under 1500 calories and i think ive seen one that showed one that showed the 10 minute streak which is the one i want. I have a 10 minute streak going on my goal page but i cant find the way to put it as my ticker. I went to the ticker editor but couldnt find the option.

Hello

Starting week 3. Have 1500 monthly fitness minutes. Hooray. I actually feel guilty if I do not exercise. Found some good videos on you tube from fitness blender. They are challenging.

Hi there,
I completed week 3 and am moving on to the Spring Cleaning Challenge. I did a video on yoga and pilates and found for some reason or other, yoga gave me a headache but I enjoyed the pilates. My chiropractor told me not to do yoga, that the twisting etc, would put my back out of adjustment so I stopped doing it. But, he said pilates were fine because it works the core muscles which are weak when you have a bad back. At any rate, I did all three things that were involved in this challenge and I enjoyed the three weeks immensely. It wasn't a huge amount of time so I didn't feel overwhelmed. Thank you and have a good day.
Chez.

Week 3 well it is really....I THINK....WEEK 6. This is the first week I felt like I completed week 3. This week I set a goal to earn my silver activity tracker metal. (40,000) steps. That,s a little over 6000 a day. My tracker daily goal is 5000. There are many days I don't reach that. Now that it is warmer and I have been on Spring Break this week, I wasn't going to let anything stand in my way. As for how am I doing it. Walking mainly. I also use my step aerobic step almost everyday, As for videos, I have tried coach Nicole's and they are great but I get board. With videos I find that I enjoy Jessica Smith's videos the best. Also the Spark Activity Tracker is one of my top motivators and I recommend it to everyone.

As we walk though this garden, that some call life there are many paths and ways to go. There is always someone there to help you along the way some may force you down their path or help you find your own. No matter what path you take there is a key in the garden. You must find it to survive!

Most of my exercise has been on the treadmill but I did tried a cardio video yesterday and that was fun. I will do more of them. Looking forward to spring when I can get back outside. This winter has just been brutal.

Great job, everyone!

The best exercise for you is the one that you do, whether it's a Wii, the stairs in parking garage, videos, whatever. Keep it up!

emoticon emoticon

Today I finished my 5th workout of the week. I've been going through the 28 Day Boot Camp DVD, today was a long, challenging one, but I made it! Then I did a fast 2 mile walk with a Leslie Sansone DVD.

Keep on moving, we're making progress!!

Making progress!

I have been adding minutes to my exercise routine every week. I am now up to 120 minutes 4 times this week. It is only WII but that is all I am able to do so far.

I hate exercise in addition to being somewhat limited mobility wise, however I have been keeping up with the 10 min daily. Actually i have increased to 15 min daily. My body feels better and I made my first outing without a cane yesterday. not planned but forgot it and as fine.

Week 3, Day 1 of challenge: did 30 min of cardio and the video for the diabetes challenge. I plan to alternate that video with a resistance band one; I like the resistance bands.

Week 3, Day 2 of challenge: did the same cardio. also did the resistance band video today. doing o.k.

Week 3, Day 3 of challenge: did my cardio and a s/t video

Week 3, Day 5 of challenge: did my cardio and the resistance band video today

Week 3, Day 6 of challenge: did my cardio walk/run this a.m. did my usual 30 minutes

Ready to move on Week 4!

emoticon I've tried several vvdeos, loved the kickboxing one the most. The chair exercises made a change to the usual St.

I've tried using the band for an alternative to weights, muscles feel the benefit.
Got DH to join in some exercises which was fun as he's not as supple as me and we laughed so much when he tried the yoga plough!

I tried 3 of the Coach Nicole Videos a Seated Core Work-out Video, a 9-minute Seated Arm and Shoulder Workout and a 11-Minute Chair Cardio Workout. I will probably continue to use these and work up to using more weight if my heart will permit, I did experience some chest pain while doing them towards the end so I definitely will have to proceed with caution. As far as fun the attempt at the Chair Cardio was it I know for some that sounds lame, but I have been afraid to push my heart with upper body exercise too much since my last heart attack and until I get the heart transplant so to be able to make it thru the 11 minute cardio workout and have fun doing it was amazing.

I have enjoyed this challenge so much. This week has had its ups and downs. I enjoy the Jessica Smith Workout videos. For some reason I just do not enjoy the SP videos. I love the Month of the fun activities Calendar. I printed it, and it is going on my vision wall (motivational board). I wasn't feeling good a couple days last week and didn't get my 10 min in and felt guilty. I think that is good and bad. 1. That tells me I am being responsible for my health and this team is keeping me accountable. emoticon 2.I need to cut myself some slack when I am sick.

I have been slacking off, but trying to get some exercise in daily. I am a foodie, i love eating, so i am not seeing much progress now. I started walking again (hoping to get my 10000 steps per day) all the best to those who are doing well

If at first you don't succeed, try, try ,try again.

I discovered the Leslie Sansome videos and had fun with those. I also turned vacuuming into a workout which may not be exactly adding FUN to my routine but it did transform my cleaning job! I also got lots of shovelling done and I do actually enjoy that so I did it several times for each storm.

On to week 4.

I just did my first video, picked a short one with resistance bands, I liked it and will try to do more of them.

I am not quite sure what to do that if fun. Well, what I can afford that is fun, I would love to go paddleboarding again. I guess going in the pool at my sister's house will be fun. I plan on trying to tread water for 15 minutes, lots of calories burnt there. I haven't been swimming in so long, can't see me doing laps

So I had kinda set this as a goal for myself from Jan 1 (not the beginning of my weight loss but the beginning of my "every day 10 minutes" goal.) So, now that the month is over I can see that I worked out, either jogging, yoga, pilates or strength training 20 of the 31 days in the month! That's amazing! I know my goal of EVERY day is extreme to some people, but I see it as a worthy goal. And when I need a break, I'm not ashamed, because I think to myself "but look at all I have accomplished!"

I added strength training! I've been running and doing yoga for about 2 months now but I've added upper body exercises, squats and planks. Plus, I did a pilates class for the first time with a good friend! She's going to come to one of my yoga classes and I'll go to one of her pilates classes each month - it's an excuse to see each other and to try out something we ususally wouldn't do! Score!

I am trying really hard to get in at least 10 minutes every single day. I think it would be easier if I had access to a gym. I would at least have a place to go. Then I wouldn't be susceptible to being lazy instead of being active. I am at least able to sneak in some walks every once in a while.

I am doing better, yesterday I got 11 minutes in with Coach Nicole and then walked 20 minutes on the treadmill. Have exercised today, been busy running errands. Will try to walk later.

Taking it one day at a time. Trying to incorporate 10 minutes even if I don't go to the gym. Not very successful yet. When my heel injury healing process allows me to walk for a break without paying for it from pain, it will be a piece of cake. Working up to doing the chair cardio exercise. But when I get home, I'm exhausted! Going to plan for it this weekend.

I'm still mostly on the same exercises; wii games including biggest loser wii. Then also doing 10 minutes air climber most days and different spark people videos since I'm in certain challenges. No weight progress yet, still staying the same so hoping eventually I'll start to see progress. I exercise 45 min/5 days per week. I have been feeling a little more awake lately; probably from keeping up with exercises. I try to do exercises in morning mostly so I can get other things done throughout day.

I am trying to make exercise fun. The ideas of dancing and singing while cleaning sounds wonderful. I have done some strength training (15 minutes) for my arms due to waking up to a sore heel.
