I've found several ways to add a little more exercise to my day. I've been wearing a pedometer. Most days I try to have between 10,000 & 12,000 steps by the time I go to bed. I've been drinking more water, so that ends up being more trips to the restroom. I take the long way around. I work for a court, so instead of using my cart to transport cases back & forth to my desk or the judge's offices, I've been making several trips to move the cases (carrying more weight). I have added 20-30 minutes of walking during my lunch break. Every little bit adds up.

Blessings,
Nillapepsi (Sheila) :-)

I've been doing four workouts a week via EA Sports Active 2 on my kinect. I love fitness games, because it keeps me motivated to finish the program.

I have also been done at least one "easy" challenge a day on my Striiv Smart Pedometer. This week I added an extra ten minutes per day of challenges.

I have been doing at least ten minutes of daily activity for about a month now and I have already noticed big improvements in my stamina and energy levels.

I'm discovering that in order to stay on track I must plan and do fun exercises that makes me excited to 'move my butt'. Moving forward and it is very exciting! So glad to have be making headway with joy filled exercise for the winter months. YEA!.

I had to work late a couple evenings. For a break - and because my cubemates had all gone home - I did some basic exercises to help me get focused and back on task.

Week 2 was good. I just keep wanting to do more, some times too soon and then I regret pushing too hard hard to know my limits.

This week I incorporated an incline into my treadmill workouts with one minute burst of running mingled in. Sometimes I got in one round of running, other days I fit in more. This morning, for the first time, I reached 5 different running spurts!!
Another accomplishment for this week is that I've been able to walk at work a few days.

The best thing about this week is that I've felt my love for exercise returning! I look forward to getting on the treadmill or hitting the bike path. And I've kept my 10 min streak going for 10 days now.

When I first started this 10 minute challenge, I was a bit skeptical that it would work, but I'm happy to say that for me it is! So excited to be returning to a healthy lifestyle. =)

I am in the early part of week 2 but I am proud of myself. I have had some days when I pushed the calorie limits but I got back on track and kept going. I have been doing well with drinking 8 glasses of water and I have done anywhere from 12 minutes to 40 minutes of exercise every night of this week.

I have been doing great on getting in at least 10 mins a day. I still have a few days left on week 2, but I feel confident in my ability to finish this week strong.

I got in at least 10 mins. a day just by playing with my daughter, taking the dog for a walk, and exercising while watching some of my favorite shows. It has been really fun to see how my daughter is enjoying the new me because before I started actually commiting myself to exercise I didn't play with her much as far as active wise. Now we go outside alot, run around the house, and going to the playground. I can't say how happy I am and more energized I am just within less than a month.

Live every day to the fullest. Live every day like it is your last, love hard, and laugh often.

Many blessings to all.

I'm at what I think is my longest sparkstreak for at least 10 minutes a day at 47 days. I participated in 31 Workouts in December and really got into doing at least 10 minutes a day so I decided to join this team/exercise streak challenge. I work with clients where I go out into the community, so trying to park further away and take the stairs when I can are two ways I really try to add activity into my day. I really need to get a fitbit or pedometer to track my steps and see how I do during the day since I drive so much.

I've managed to do AT LEAST 10 minutes of exercise for 14 days straight! WooHoo!! I am recovering from an injury, so this has been a nice way to add extra activity without over-doing it. I love that the days when I feel like my body needs a break, I can take it easy with stretching and on days when I feel strong I can kick it into full drive! It keeps me from falling into that "all-or-nothing" trap that usually gets me.

In addition to that, I've been making an effort to park far away from my destination in parking lots and taking the stairs as much as possible.

I'm nine days into the challenge and really proud of myself. I haven't missed a day, even when I REALLY didn't want to do it...rainy and cold here. One night, I used cans of corn to exercise my arms for 10 minutes because I didn't walk earlier in the day. I am rewarding myself with a FitBit. It's coming in the mail today...I am so excited about creating a new healthy habit! emoticon

Finishing up week two tomorrow but I already hit my goals. This week I made sure I did SOME kind of household activity after work every day instead of spending hours sitting in front of the computer on SP emoticon emoticon .

Anyway, I purged my garage. Dug out old clothes and sorted things I could donate, trash or add back in the wardrobe rotation because I can fit them again emoticon .

I also found loads of gifts I'd been given over the years and other trinkets. One thing I found was a brand new pedometer that I was eager to break in. emoticon

Finished week two and have kept streak going. I challenged myself to run 1 mile for my 10 minutes. I have planed ahead to make sure I get my exercise in. Twice this past week I ran at lunch at gym at work. 14 days and going strong. Planning is what it takes for me. I plan my meals and they work out well, so now I plan my exercise also.

For my extra activity this week, I cooked dinner instead of my husband. By the end of the week I found myself doing calf raises while standing at the stove! That made it feel less tedious while I was standing there stirring the food! LOL

I also figured out that I could incorporate some lower body exercises into my morning by marching and doing side kicks while brushing my teeth and washing my face.

I also paced while talking on the phone and parked further away at the store.

Here I am - I just did it! I ran to the bank instead of walking. A nice way to get a fifteen minute jog in every friday.
At the end of week two I find that my ability to do cardio exercise has increased by a lot. That's what I have been focusing on because it burns the most calories, is the hardest to get myself to do, the hardest to get in shape for and the fastest fitness to disappear when I don't do it. I could not have outright jogged even slowly to the bank at the beginning of this challenge.
My husband I have started doing the 12 minute x-mass workout recently featured on the spark blog every evening and have been having a great time.
I am surprised and delighted to report that these quick energetic spurts do more for my energy level than caffeine. I really appreciate them because longer stints of exercise never produced the endorphin effect that I wanted.
So - hooray for week two! Can't wait for week three. This has certainly been a fun adventure. Not sure if it's been habit forming yet, but I can always do the challenge again if I need to.

Since I workout in the morning, I have started making time for fitness during commercials. I spend commercial breaks doing push-ups, lunges, jumping jacks and stretches. I have also made a point of taking the stairs instead of elevators. Since I'm in college and all of my classes are in different buildings, I was given the opportunity to practice this one a lot.

Living on a college campus made this week pretty easy. Most of the places I need to go are not on the ground floor, so I took the stairs. My room, classes, and food are all in different buildings, so I walked the paths instead of cutting across the lawn.

Just read all of your blogs. You are such an encouragement to me. I too finished week2. My success is small (but for me HUGE!) I tried to be more conscious of my sitting (beware the chair) walk while talking on the phone, stood at the ironing board to rifle through my purse for something, walk a further distance when parking, etc. Thanks for the accountablity and keep the good discipline for week 3!! emoticon

This was a week of learning and a very busy week for me. I helped a family member move and for the past 5 days have been moving boxes, furniture, painting 3 rooms and cleaning. My walking has increased greatly and I can now notice a little difference in how my clothes fit.

I think have found my balance where I am not going over or under my calorie intake, or calories burned. So been doing pretty good this week with 60 mins of cardio on teh treadmill, doing between 2 miles to 2.5 miles each day. Have also stayed with my strenght training schedule but do vary the exercise on each day. Today I learn how to do a proper lunge, and after my lower body work out thought that maybe I didn't push myeslf hard enough... that is until I had to walk down the stairs.

I realize my past mistakes with working out was pushing myself hard to exercise, but not letting the rest catch up, meaning not resting, not eating enough, not getting enough nutrients. Making sure this time that not going to happen, also getting great advice at the gym about doing certain exerccise properly. So far, lost 8 pounds, and feeling awesome, and it great to start seeing some muscles showing!

Finishing up week 2, I have been doing some of what I had hoped but there's definitely still room for improvement. I have been incorporating more physical activity into my life. One way I have been doing this is by walking to work whenever it is possible. Usually that is only 2-3 days a week because of my busy schedule, but 2-3 is better than zero. Also I have been trying to suggest activities to do with my friends that involve more movement. I used to always meet up for drink or dinner, or just hang out. Now I am asking people to go for a walk with me. We still get to chat and enjoy each other's company, but we're also doing something good for our bodies.I also take the stairs all the time at work, so that's another small thing, but it's got to be better than the elevator. I'll be looking to add more into my daily life, but sometimes it just seems as though there is not enough time.

week 2 done This week I was travelling quite a bit so I got my exercise by parking a long way from the store or place where I was going so I would have to walk across a large parking lot to get to my destination.
Also able to do strength training with dumbells. they really build the muscles.
Did some biking.
Finding ways to be active that is fun so I will want to keep doing it.
Another sport I learned this week was carpet bowling.
I also have joined a bowling league so I got three strings of bowling done on Tuesday.
All in all a great week.

At the end of the day, be able to look back and say "I did my best today."

This beautiful weather in NC certainly makes exercising easier! I got to the new yoga place an hour early (I wasn't sure where it was). They happened to have a walking trail that started in the parking lot so I walked for 30 minutes while I was waiting. That would have NEVER happened a few weeks ago. Hurray!

I got want to do it and do this for me. My mind is in battle and my body is at war. I'm in battle with myself and if I can over come myself than I can over come it all and do it one day at a time, let it go and get one step closer to my goal.

I liked the calendar the gave ideas for adding fitness to your day. I have taken to hand-delivering messages to people all around the office instead of emailing them for corrections. I also pace whenever I am on the phone, which is nothing new but now I'm more conscience of it happening and strive to make sure I do :-)

I'm learning getting started is really the hardest part. BUT, I went back to work setting up for school this week and it was hard to do it on those days! I will have to be getting up early and telling myself that 10 min is okay!

Slowing down. Am putting in about 20 mins a day. But, I liked it better when I was walking the whole park. Gonna do what I can do, without injuring myself.

I didn't want to do my exercise today but I learn if I'm not bed sick then I can push myself and I think about how good I'm going to feel afterward or knowing I did something for me. emoticon

I'm learning that less is best and I can add on to my workout plan when I can handle a long workout. emoticon

I'm glad I'm able to do my exercise everyday but I been pushing myself hard and now it's time for me to be gentle with myself and my body and still burn fat, calories, and have a great workout. emoticon

I had some challenges this week, but I managed to walk everyday except Friday. Today will be my last workout day for this week. My weight stayed the same, but at least I didn't gain. emoticon

I started walking stairs at work today...five times up and down I consider one set. I plan to do this twice a day to get ready for a 15-mile bike ride through part of St. Paul in September. Even though I do just a little when I can, it does help. I already feel more energetic and positive.
