lost my fitbit while shoveling and spreading gravel yesterday. Can't get as enthused about the hiking without being able to see the results pop up. Did a new route today and found that the one trail head had been used by someone to dump an entire load of rolled up carpets and toilets. How inconsiderate and why would anyone who appears to be remodeling dump there junk at a trail head?

Suddenly realised I'm on Week 2 now not Week 1! My downfall has always been on the exercise front, that is keeping it going, but I have managed to do that. I have had some days in the last week when I have felt tired but have found different way of exercising such as stretching/flexibility exercises, using the Qi Gong video on Spark and getting out in the garden in the good weather we are having. This along with WATP, weights and resistance tubes has kept me going with variety.

Taking two steps forward and one step back is still progress!SP

hiked to different trail head this morning. We had a major rain storm yesterday and I was not into the mud and new ponds on our regular trail. We did a much more groomed trail this morning for 75 minutes.

Was a nice day yesterday so hubby and I decided to walk to a local restaurant for dinner.
1.75 miles 45 mins. It was great to get out. Today I walked around the block (15 mins) before work.

Have been hiking every day. Today it was for 84 minutes in the rain on the trails. Wet me and wet dogs. It was fantastic!

Ten minutes of excercise - I thought that this would be my total goal. I have neuropathy, PAD and osteoarthritis. I have never stopped doing stretches, but now I try to keep in constant movement and have added different strength training. Because of some frustration today I walked for 15 minutes and my mood changed!

I have kept up the activity and added the heavy house remodeling plus now the pressure washing and mowing. I got in probably 6 hrs of hard work yesterday. Today I just did 65 minutes of hiking and intend to get to the power washer after work this evening.

Yesterday I went to my first TaiChi class. I was very nervous and afraid I wouldn't be able to do the class. I found it very rewarding and will continue with the next 4 week classes that are scheduled. I have flexibility problems and I am hoping this will help. I also have been using the QiGong video on Spark Pages and the 15 minute video is very relaxing. So far today I have 32 minutes fitness.

I do a minimum of 30 minutes of HIIT training EVERY day, try to do weights (SP videos) or total gym ( I have shoulder problems & a prior neck injury so some things I can't do), but what I can't do, i find something else to take it's place. I don't know how to track Total Gym on my fitness page.

yesterday and today another 40 minutes of walking.
10 of stretches. I need to push myself a bit more but my muscles are tight and I caused a few spasms today.
Trying to move more in my daily activities. Adding steps to my day.

Walked 1 mile to a Leslie Sansome video
Walked around the Shopping Mall

Got in 120 minutes of cardio and 20 of strength today. I actually feel guilty when I do not exercise by a certain time in the day. I am loving the variety of exercises that I have found on youtube.

Day 2 of week 2 for me: Yesterday I walked and stretched.

Today so far I've stretched for 5 minutes. Heading to the mall for some walking. emoticon

I plan on working on my core this week. My balance is awful and I'm hoping this will help.

7pm: walked at the mall for 60 minutes. This doesn't include the running around town doing errands.

week 2 finished .. yahoo .. cardio pretty much everyday and trying to be better about some strength / core training .. need stronger back (so less back pain) and would like to see some of this hard work in my stomach .. have lost 25 lbs and just not seeing any difference in my body overall .. very discouraging right now .. so i guess more crunches/core work to get stronger abs, to get flatter and see some improvement?? anyway, on to week 3 ..

I have lost 12 pounds since January 2014, thanks Spark People. I workout well during the week but find it harder to workout on Sunday's when the gym is closed and my hubby is home. I am not getting the weight loss results that I thought I would by increasing my exercise minutes from 30 to 50 minutes, 4 to 5 days a week. I started parking further away from the store when I go shopping and take the stairs whenever possible.

I find that nothing beats walking for me. I REALLY like it, but if housework must be done, I am putting much more energy into it and make sure I organize things so there is no stopping time in between chores. No matter which level of the house I'm on, there is plenty to do.

Week 2, Day 1: Getting in my 10 min/day is getting much easier thanks to my Spark Activity Tracker. I love it. It makes me want to get out and move more.

I am also loving the fact that the weather is getting nicer so I can go for hikes during the day.

This week I'm going to work on hiking a little longer everyday.

I feel like I am doing good with this challenge. I have made it a point to at least get the ten minutes in even when I don't feel like doing a "real" workout. I purposefully take the stairs and instead of getting the closest spot I can find I am parking toward the back of the lot (even though it is really cold in Michigan right now).

Even though I just joined the challenge today, I'm in my second week. I've been walking or doing a low impact video everyday since I started with Sparkpeople on Feb 15, 2014. Yesterday for the first time I walked all four laps together without a break. It's the first time I've been able to do that! Today is a video day. I really look forward to those because I hate walking.

I'm not training for a competition. I'm not trying to set a new record. I'm not trying to impress you. I'm saving my life!

week 2, day 7, so tomorrow I start week 3

I went for a 30 minute walk this morning with stairs, I did 11 flights of stairs, am going to try for more,
I did a 10 minute crunchless core cardio workout

and I am just leaving for my afternoon walk, at least 30 minutes, I need to start walking a bit faster, I go at a 20 minute mile now, but think I should punch it up a bit, I think I can, I of course do not want to overdo myself, but see no movement on the scales for quite a long time.

This morning I was not sure I would feel like doing any exercise today. Surprise surprise I forced this rotund body into a bathing suit and went to the pool for the first time in over six years. I figured if I wasn't wearing my glasses I would not be able to see if there was anyone there that I knew. 40 minutes. emoticon

I do workout videos at home when my husband is at work. Yesterday he was off, but I didn't want him around when I was doing my video. I kicked him out of the house for an hour. It drove him crazy, but he got some extra wood split during that time. It was good for both of us!

Making progress!

10-minute bursts are a great way to keep moving. I've been enjoying several of the Spark videos which target unique exercise needs. It's motivating to keep a 10-minute-per-day streak going and to boost it to higher minutes per day. Yaaaay!!

We are moving and selling a car so there are many opportunities here. cleaning has been a big one, gardening, moving boxes (with a flight of stairs involved, go glutes) and detailing a full size truck. Even though I am very active and exercise regularly, it feels good to wake up a little sore each morning. Good sore, not the bad one.

I didn't really get in any activity for week one, but week two started with a session with a hypnotist and I have been motivated to do at least 2 ten-minute (or more) sessions each day. One cardio or brisk walking and the other one strength training. 4 down and 3 to go for week two. emoticon

I'm keeping the streak of an "extra 10mins a day" going, more walking or more ST or a combination.

Loving feeling more awake and alive! It really has motivated me joining this team, I was in a rut!

I love this challenge. When I use to sit on the couch at night and watch TV, I felt I didn't have time to exercise. When I saw this challenge, I decided this is something I could do. I first started out with just the 10 minutes, then started waking up an hour earlier to get my exercising in.

I joined the team to encourage me to exercise more. I have heart problems and MS. I need a heart transplant but my seizures from MS have increased. I have lost 121 pounds more to go but I have to schedule my exercise around seizures so breaking down exercise into several different times of day help me get in the desired number of minutes that I want. This challenge has allowed me to be ok with the 10 minutes at a time is acceptable if that is all my body will allow at the time before the seizures started I would not have accepted that and would have felt bad about myself, but now I feel that I am worth the effort and I will succeed and make it to my goal.

I was already exercising between 30-60 mins a day and joined this challenge to motivate me to increase it further by at least 10 mins a day- so I got my portable stair stepper out of storage and vowed a streak of 28 days on 10mins on there and sneak more exercise in as the day unfolds- I've gone for extra 30 mins walks when the weather has allowed or tried new ST workouts if not and some Yoga fusion workouts- which had me giggling as I am not the most coordinated of people.
Joining the team has motivated me and a friend to research Line Dancing clubs locally. emoticon
