This is my week two challenge start date.

I think that I will choose the following:

- make time for working out in the morning -- before my shower -- do some toning exercises, working different parts of my body every day
- go for a walk after dinner -- there are so many paths nearby that I could easily walk -- really no excuse for not getting it done
- dance -- in my living room -- to my favourite oldies!

So here we go....

I am finishing week 2 and have to say I am proud of myself. I have been walking the track at work on my lunch or after work, I am parking farther than I normally would, and I am washing my dishes by hand. I am also dancing while I clean the house, especially vacuuming! Glad no one is watching LOL

With faith anything is possible!

Starting week 2 this week! The things that have made me successful "this" time around I think are 1) having the team to check in with and 2) having a buddy who is doing the same as me, we check in by text when we do our exercise and keep each other on track with reminders to be smart about food.

It's really hard to suck in your back fat.

Second day of week two and I've just completed the Spark people desk workout. I work in a school so I've split it up throughout the day. Did my stretches whilst teaching-kids didn't care!

I think I'm doing pretty well. I exercised for more than 10 minutes for 5 days this week. Most days I did between 30-90 minutes.

I also did Stand Up Paddle Boarding with a group of friends which was really fun (even though I spent most of the 2 hours sitting/kneeling on my board!), and this morning I went on a long walk along the beach with a friend. Incorporating a social element into my exercise is really helpful for me and enables me to see working out as a fun activity, rather than a chore.

That being said, I work from home and don't do much social stuff during the actual week. Aside from talking walks, I also love the workout videos on Sparkpeople. I did the seated arm workout and seated core workout videos at my desk (so I could keep an eye on email) and it was a nice way to add some exercise into my day.

Success is the greatest motivator of all!

My toughest time is when I have long, late days at work. But have been parking in the ramp farther from work and then also walking on my breaks. Working so far!!!

Out of the list of 30 ways to get creative, I'm going to wash dishes by hand. Not a hard one as I already do and will continue this week, I used to have husband do it, being disabled, he is my caretaker. But I'm getting healthier and choosing to do this now as well as cook SparkRecipes for dinner for us! emoticon

I also chose to wear a pedometer. Today's steps are 4567 only because I walked this morning. Feel real good at that number of steps. Have never walked 10,000 steps in a day. 5,000 is a good, active day for me! I don't walk Tues or Thurs, and on these days my steps are almost non-existent. I normally sit at the computer all day. I also take Sat and Sun off. Today I shopped and walked at 3 stores, adding more steps and movement into my day, but I rarely have to shop. I am also going to Laredo tomorrow to shop at big grocery store and Wal-Mart. Will add a lot of steps at big grocery store.

I also added a 3rd activity: I'm gonna add more morning fitness when I awaken at 3am, especially on the 2 days I don't walk in the park, but also on days I do, MWF. Being so new to exercise again, I'm only doing this 10-Minute challenge on 3 days/wk not all.. Hoping this is ok. I'm trying to get rid of the all-or-nothing mentality I used to have that prevented me from exercising at all! I'm also trying to develop an exercise habit, making it a habit to leave the house and go to the park to walk.

Today is day 1, wk 2. I'll post at end of week under wk 2 Relections!

I'm doing pretty well so far doing 30 min - 5 days per week and sometimes if i wake up early enuf I sneak in 10 min of my air stepper so then only have 20 min when get home, saves me some time and relaxation after very long day work. So starting exercising for 2 weeks now and lost 4 lbs already which is pretty good, hoping to stay with 2 lbs per wk to reach my goal and make me feel good

I'm now getting in 10 min before my morning shower - helps because it's summertime, so I hope I'm still loving it when the mornings are dark! 8-)
I'm also fitting in crunches when nobody's looking, and always doing Kegels.

Love that I can Do just 10 minutes of cardio if I don't have much time to spare. It keeps me exercising & for me that's the key. If I don't keep going I'll get off track.

I get in extra fitness minutes by taking the stairs always, and I work on the second floor. I have always powerwalked through stores. :) I park further from the doors, too.

This week has been good. I have done my fitness minutes, mostly as planned. I did skip yoga yesterday because I was tired from a long walk. I have started the thirty day ab challenge. Yesterday was day four, a rest day. I will have to hit it later. I reached my goal weight this week so I need to stay focused and maintain and continue to tone up my muscles and keep getting stronger!

I power walked the perimeter of the store before I even started shopping yesterday. It felt good to walk really fast past the ice cream! I also dug out my pedometer and I walk farther every day. I reflect every morning when I go to my start page to start tracking. I review my goal board first and I reflect on my goals and how I'm doing. I weigh in tomorrow morning - I can't wait!

Tomorrow is the end of my 2nd week and this challenge has motivated me to move everyday. My husband and kids went for walks after dinner and it was so much fun and relaxing. My kids looked so cute in there little wagon just enjoying nature. I took my kids to the park for picnic lunches and we played on the swings and walked on the trails. I tracked my steps and reached my 10,000 step goals everyday some days I went over. I love this challenge because it helped me see how to fit activity into my daily routines. Hope you all are having a successful week.

This week I did loads of walking with just getting the kids to and from school. On the second run, I would make it longer after pick up just by choosing a different route.

it's been a week and I've made some great strides at working out along with better food choices over the week...but I still made some horrid ones over the weekend, so I was amazed to see a weight loss, which only reminds me that a few mistakes doesn't undo everything AND e v e r y ...little bit that we do for our health DOES count!!

2 ways (can't really say they're creative but they're working for me) that I'm working fitness into my life:

- walking in place for 20-30 mins when watching tv

-paired up my ipod to a lightweight portable speaker and now I can workout without my earbuds getting in the way and still listen to my fave playlists!

Doing at least 10 extra minutes every day so far. Finding lots of ways to add more in. Love finding new ways, park father away, walk laps around my hill at break, hand washing my dishes with the dishwasher broken, yesterday was cleaning up some saplings that had sprung up in addition to mowing and weeding. Today may be planting my garden. Let's get moving! emoticon

I chose to up my walking goal to 3000 steps a day when I was in weight loss class last week. I have accomplished that goal everyday for the last week. I am sort of thinking of increasing it to 4000 steps because that is around the minimum I got each day so far this week. I am so happy that it is getting nicer outside so I can enjoy it and go on walks without worrying so much about the weather.

Hi All, I've been so bad at not doing anything but sitting and reading, but I Force myself to do the 10 minutes of walking. I remember I have not done it usually right before bed. I make myself walk circles around my house. This seems normal to me because I am diabetic and when my sugar numbers were high I have always walked round and round until they came down. I have only done the 10 min. for 6 days now, but I can already tell a difference. My legs feel better and I am moving faster. Plus, something is going on. I have worked on getting my sugar down for about 2 months now... it was 238 in the morning... and today it was 90 and staying at or under 100 each day now! I also take NO medicines for diabetes and when I was labeled about 10 yrs ago my A1C was 13.9 .,.. so I got it good. Also, in past 2 months I eat really only for working on the sugar but the scales are now going down almost daily! I wonder now what is going to be happening when I add even more exercise?

I've been doing a 20 minute mile walk everyday on my lunch break. This really helps break up the day and gives me more energy for the afternoon as well as keeping me moving at my desk job.

I've also started doing short, simple exercises every time I go to the bathroom. Since this happens often throughout the day I get in several sets of squats, wall pushups, or one legged deadlifts. This are obviously not consistent but keep my heart rate up since I sit at a desk all day.

Tennis is also something that I have recently learned to love! Always excited to get back out on the court and improve my game.

15 minutes strength training with resistance bands. Building my use up slowly. I really enjoy using these bands.

SCUBAGAL07 I bought the one and two mile WATP and was surprised as I wasn't sure if they would be any good but they do give you a good workout. I haven't bought the three and four mile yet as they are not available on Amazon UK at present.

Been faithfully walking, and then came the rain! Not wanting to walk on the treadmill, I bought Leslie Sansone Walking at home.......WOW, OW, WoW.....

I was skeptical it would not be a good workout, boy was I wrong and I only did the 3 miles emoticon

I finally broke down and bought baby wipes and extra stick of deodorant for work. Now I'm doing power yoga or some other intense, but quick, workout during my lunch hour. Change into some workout clothes, close my door, and off I go. I can't wait for the weather to really break so I can do this outside! Then I just mop off my pits with the baby wipes and swipe on some deodorant before changing back into office attire.

Isn't it crazy that I work in a rather large health care facility, and yet there is no fitness center or a shower? Not making it easy for us to walk the talk we give our patients.

hiked yesterday for 88 minutes in the rain. Today I am upside down so far. I did only 18 minutes in run/walking to let the dogs know they weren't forgotten. I then forgot my breakfast and now I am going through Kashi withdrawal!

lost my fitbit while shoveling and spreading gravel yesterday. Can't get as enthused about the hiking without being able to see the results pop up. Did a new route today and found that the one trail head had been used by someone to dump an entire load of rolled up carpets and toilets. How inconsiderate and why would anyone who appears to be remodeling dump there junk at a trail head?

Suddenly realised I'm on Week 2 now not Week 1! My downfall has always been on the exercise front, that is keeping it going, but I have managed to do that. I have had some days in the last week when I have felt tired but have found different way of exercising such as stretching/flexibility exercises, using the Qi Gong video on Spark and getting out in the garden in the good weather we are having. This along with WATP, weights and resistance tubes has kept me going with variety.

Ten minutes of excercise - I thought that this would be my total goal. I have neuropathy, PAD and osteoarthritis. I have never stopped doing stretches, but now I try to keep in constant movement and have added different strength training. Because of some frustration today I walked for 15 minutes and my mood changed!

I have kept up the activity and added the heavy house remodeling plus now the pressure washing and mowing. I got in probably 6 hrs of hard work yesterday. Today I just did 65 minutes of hiking and intend to get to the power washer after work this evening.

Yesterday I went to my first TaiChi class. I was very nervous and afraid I wouldn't be able to do the class. I found it very rewarding and will continue with the next 4 week classes that are scheduled. I have flexibility problems and I am hoping this will help. I also have been using the QiGong video on Spark Pages and the 15 minute video is very relaxing. So far today I have 32 minutes fitness.

I do a minimum of 30 minutes of HIIT training EVERY day, try to do weights (SP videos) or total gym ( I have shoulder problems & a prior neck injury so some things I can't do), but what I can't do, i find something else to take it's place. I don't know how to track Total Gym on my fitness page.

Day 2 of week 2 for me: Yesterday I walked and stretched.

Today so far I've stretched for 5 minutes. Heading to the mall for some walking. emoticon

I plan on working on my core this week. My balance is awful and I'm hoping this will help.

7pm: walked at the mall for 60 minutes. This doesn't include the running around town doing errands.

week 2 finished .. yahoo .. cardio pretty much everyday and trying to be better about some strength / core training .. need stronger back (so less back pain) and would like to see some of this hard work in my stomach .. have lost 25 lbs and just not seeing any difference in my body overall .. very discouraging right now .. so i guess more crunches/core work to get stronger abs, to get flatter and see some improvement?? anyway, on to week 3 ..

I have lost 12 pounds since January 2014, thanks Spark People. I workout well during the week but find it harder to workout on Sunday's when the gym is closed and my hubby is home. I am not getting the weight loss results that I thought I would by increasing my exercise minutes from 30 to 50 minutes, 4 to 5 days a week. I started parking further away from the store when I go shopping and take the stairs whenever possible.

Stopped getting my challenge e-mails. Have been in week 2 for about 2 weeks now. Not sure why.

Ten minutes of raking the lawn with a hand rake. Feels good to be in the fresh cool spring air. I feel productive, too. emoticon
