My week 2 has been a bust so far. Only able to squeeze in one day out of 3 thus far-long hours at work plus hubby was out of town so that throws off my sleep. I know this is important to keep me on track for maintaining my loss - so I hope to recover starting today emoticon

Walked on the treadmill at least 20 minutes each day week 2. I didn't do the yoga I had planned on as I had a terrible cold and decided it was better to wait. I did walk a little faster than the 3 mph I did the first week.

Finished Week 2 and feeling pretty good. The my time on the exercise bike has increased and I'm getting some walking/treadmill time in too. I also started going back to the gym 2x a week. Plan to add some yoga and try and get the gym visits up to 3x a week.

I didn't even realize today was my first day of week 2, but what I did realize was that at the beginning of week 1 I struggled to get through a 10 minute yoga video. Today I did a 20 minute yoga video and was surprised when it finished. 20 minutes already?! The small addition of fitness is improving my ability to do more. I'm thrilled!

Starting week 2 today. The first week I did 20 minutes each day on the treadmill. This week I plan to continue with that and add 15 minutes of simple yoga 3 days a week. I lost 3.5 pounds last week and I'm sure the exercise helped immensely!

End of 2nd week - I am getting my 10 minutes at least 5 x week. Mainly on my elliptical machine - and often go extra (up to 20). I'm also parking farther away when I am out and about, and taking the stairs at work more.

Hi I missed a little information on this challenge , but time to catch up. I am currently on a 65 day streak of at least 10 minutes of work out. Putting on the tracker has made me accountable to all who see. But more importantly to the Lord as He sees me all the time. I am excited to be challenged even when I am tired I will get a 30 to 70 minute fast walk in. Thank all you spark people who keep on moving and motivating.

I started week 2 today and completed so far 20 minutes on the treadmill.
I started recording my food intake in a journal and water as well.
I had gained weight last week due to celebrating the holidays with friends and family. I am trying to be more on the alert this week. I want to ride the treadmill more daily in smaller segments and cook healthier meals.

End of week 2. I did 20 min per day on treadmill for week 2 @ 3MPH. Some days went up to 3.5MPH. The 3.5 MPH speed was more difficult than I expected, so I'll continue doing a mix of 3 & 3.5 MPH, changing speeds when I feel too challenged. For a couple of days I did some exercises while watching TV, but didn't most days. I'll try to do more of that next week.

Hello

Have been averaging 30 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of fitness each day so far this week. Today is a rest day for me. I am really considering getting a fitness monitor. Anybody use a fitness tracker especially the Sparkpeople one. Your opinions would be great.

Today I did a 10 minute yoga routine (the routine I love to hate!), and also did a set of abdominal crunches (forgot to do these yesterday!). Am using intensive hurry-up housework for my cardio today - vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and so on. Sure wish my battery for my step whachamaycallit hadn't died! NO idea how many steps - but bet it's a bunch! All told - 10 for yoga, 5 for abdominal crunches (ok - so I'm just a beginner!), and probably about 30 for cardio housework! Gave me up to a 1000 extra calories in my range! Woohoo!

I have been fitting in exercise by doing exercise at work and also in between commercials. The minutes really add up. I also have been adding exercise to house cleaning by doing lunges while vacuuming and doing squats instead of bending over.

I ride my exercise bike for 20 minutes on days I work and 40 on days I don't. I've also started parking near the back of the parking lot when I go shopping.

Just starting week 2. Met the week 1 goals. It helped that I listened to comedy routines on Pandora radio while walking. Started with 15 min per day on treadmill @2.5 MPH, then went to 3MPH by the end of the week. I intend to do 20 min per day on treadmill for week 2, and to take a couple of the SP suggestions for adding other activities during the day.

I listen to music while I fold laundry and clean. My 14 year old is embarrassed but oh well. I prefer to take the steps over an elevator every day. Especially since I was stuck in one once.

Being conscious of finding extra minutes to be active is helpful. Walking when on the phone...moving during the commercials...parking farther away from my destination. They are all little things but they really do add up. I am starting to look for opportunities to be more active

Working in extra minutes in downtime is my specialty. This week I am getting creative. While walking the dogs twice daily, extra long once, I will do lunges and wall squats against a tree while I am stopped.

I stretch in the morning from bedroom to bathroom, and do genie sit or wall squats during commercial breaks.

It does help to be conscious of the downtime, as I do not have 30 minutes to devote every day.

I live on the 3rd floor and the washing machine is in the basement, we have an elevator, but 1: I don't trust it(wires are hanging out of it) and 2: why should it move me, when I can move myself? :)

2)
I take the bus to/from school and work, so I get off 1 stop too early and walk the rest of the way

3)
If I have the time I walk from school to the train station. It's a good way to gear down after a long day.

4)
I have a rule that 1 thin piece of cake(or the equivalent) "costs" 2000 exercise minutes(but often I don't even wan't the cake I've been exercising for, when the day comes. And the cakeday can't be saved, it's a now-or-never moment!)

5)
I have started looking at exercise as something else than torture necessary for weight loss. It has become my "me-time", and I actually like it. Now it is just about building stamina, so I can start doing the sports and exercises I would like to try! :)

Today I broke into an impromptu "belly dance" while I was doing the dishes. Just squeezing my abs on either side to pull my hips up, but it feels GREAT! And I did 5 modified pushups! YAY!

I got a fitbit for the crazy days when I can hardly find time for exercise which encourages me to park farther away to get in more steps.

During breaks in classes I try to remember to stand up and at least sway a little bit.

MOST days I don't have any trouble at all getting in 10 minutes :) However, there are days when things are nuts and I only get house work done. Does housework count towards our "exercise" time for this challenge? Or only extra activities?

Finally back on track today after three days of missing. Ugh! Did 20 mins of yoga and 30 minutes of walking. It felt great to do them and re-start my streak. Looking forward to working out again tomorrow:-)
