Walked 15 minutes to 30 minutes on Sat. , Sun, Mon. also did chair exercises.

Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results.

Congratulations! That's an awesome finish!

My 8 year old son wanted to go out after dinner, so we went. He kept up with me and we made it 1.4 miles in 22 minutes. I see a running partner in my future!

Congrats on your walking pace and training for the Turkey Trot.
I did my first 5k this morning and finished with a 13.37 per mile. So keep up the good work and you will make it.

I haven't updated in a couple of days - crazy end of the week! The president of my college was inaugurated yesterday so there lots of festivities!

Friday 10/12:
Walking: 4 mph (15 minutes per mile) 22 minutes 14:16 pace
Dancing: Disco, Ballroom, Square 30 minutes

Saturday 10/13:
Walking: 4 mph (15 minutes per mile) 20 minutes 14:00 pace

Sunday 10/14:

Walking: 4 mph (15 minutes per mile) 24 minutes 13:33 pace
My interval training is now 2 minutes brisk walk/3:15 jog and I'm not struggling with the jogging anymore! So excited!

5 weeks until the Turkey Trot. The pace for my 1st 5K was 14:33 and I'm now down a minute!

So glad we're all in this together! Keep up the good work!

10/11 Interval Walk/Jog for 21 minutes. 1.46 miles at 14:11 pace.

Five and a half weeks until the Turkey Trot and I WILL jog almost all of it!

10/10: 30 minutes walk/jog interval. 2.03 miles with a 14:47 pace. Sweet!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm definitely bringing workout clothes tomorrow because running at 6pm is pushing dusk. I'm a college professor and I would love to use the awesome gym, but it's always packed!

I walk 3 times a day at work. I either wear my black walking shoes or bring them with me. I walk twice a day on my 15 minute breaks and again on my 30 minute lunch break (then eat my lunch at my desk). I try to walk at a brisk walk, but not enough to sweat, because I don't bring extra clothes with me, and I can get in most of my 13,000 steps for the day.

Keep working and pushing and you will find it easier everyday.

Hi JANEA56. emoticon If you have 10 minutes to read the boards here at sparkpeople, you have 10 minutes for exercise. The hardest part is starting. After that it goes so quickly you will be shocked. What about exercising during the ad breaks when you're watching tv. It all adds up. emoticon

10/8: Walking with my kids 28 minutes - 22.30 min/mile - 1.24 miles

Today (10/9): Lunchtime walk 20 minutes - 17:43 min/mile - 1.14 miles

I definitely need to bring workout clothes with me to my office because today's walk was in clogs and jeans!
