Maybe this is cheating, but what I do in a situation like that is that while I'm sitting in the chair waiting, I just lift my legs up and back for a few minutes. Of course, it doesn't embarrass me to do this in a waiting room full of people. :) If it's a long wait, maybe go walk around the parking lot or up and down the halls for a few minutes. If anyone asks, tell them you have leg circulation issues and can't sit for long periods of time. That usually shuts them up. Hey, I'm sneaky, but some days, that's all I can get in, so I have to do what I have to do.
Plus, you can do things like this right in your chair at home in front of the t.v. I whittled a few inches off my waist once doing leg lifts while I was sitting in a recliner watching t.v. at night. It doesn't have to be strenuous exercise, just move.
The way to get re-started is just to start. Not easy, but once you're started, it's not so hard.
MY mantra is: It is never to late to start the day over. And that means if I can't exercise one day because of Life happenings, then I get my schedule back on track the next day. I do not beat myself up over taking a day off.

Don't beat yourself up. Life happens. We make the best of what we have and move on. You did the right thing being with your family. Your support was much needed I am sure. Don't over do it trying to make up for the lost day. Today is a new day and continue on with your plans. It is hard sometimes but do try and give yourself a break. :)
so i started this on the 22nd of aug(exercising each day) and my 5th day the 27th i did NOT get a walk or anything done cuz i had to take my mom to the emergency room and we were there til 830pm.i feel so bad and mad at myself BUT my previous days had included 2-3 30min walks so i guess that will make up for my "day off". (everything will/should be ok with mom.has a huge mass and cysts and needs ovary removed).How do you guys get back on track or back to your workout routine when "life" gets in the way????
