I was having the problem of having to sign in to everything for a while. Make sure you click the remember me button everytime. Also go into your internet options on the tools button of your main tool bar. Allow cookies for Spark People. I fooled around with this a couple of times also. Later everything just seemed to clear up.
I too, have been doing yard work and also house cleaning that would not be considered heavy. I found out that when you go to cardio, there is an Add Calories Burned Manually button. From there you can imput the exercise and the calories burned and save it to your favorites.

I would think so! I do a lot of mowing grass but not the normal grass mowing. I have 3.25 acres to trim and also ditches and bottoms of ditches. I am going to upload a picture of my mowing jobs to let you guys know what kind of mowing I am talking about. What i do is put on a heart/calorie burn, monitor and the result from this monitor is what I log into my exercise .

I'd see which used to most calories and take it from there....anything outside, especially in the heat, constitutes as hard work!

yes, under gardening in cardio (just do a search). I wish there were an exercise for "yard work". I spend a lot of time picking up fallen dead branches, trimming old branches on bushes as well as weeding and gardening. I have been putting it all under gardening except mowing which is a category by itself.

Sure does, it is strenuous work! As Teaching 1st says, it is in the fitness cardio area.

Yes! Go to the 'browse' section in the fitness exercise area and click on 'home activities' or something similar. It lists things like gardening, heavy cleaning, moving boxes, etc. It all counts. Good luck!

Does working in the garden for half an hour count for this challenge??
