Exercise before work is pretty easy. I'm a morning person. I'd like to add another 10 minutes of walking and/or yoga in the evenings.

All I desire is consistency in my workouts on a daily basis. I want this 10 minutes exercise to become my daily routine.

I just retired as of Friday. Spent the last 10 years tied to a desk all day. Had a stint put in two years ago and have continued to gain weight even though I say I am doing better. Today is the first official day of my new life. 10 minutes should be doable. One step at a time

My goal is 10 minutes of exercise at home on days I don't make it for my usual hiking, walk, or bike ride 3-4 times a week. Therefor, daily there will be something accomplished. It will include either walking up and down stairs or resistance exercises at home.

My challenge for myself is to get moving at least 10 mins every hour. Either just walk around the house, jump on the bike or treadmill, but to get up and do something. I am sitting on the couch waaaaay too much. Or get up and move during the commercials, that's 5 mins at a pop, I'll try both and see which works out better.

This was my last day of week one of the 10 minute challenge. I am most happy to report that I was able to complete my challenges and have kept to fitness every day for more than the 10 minutes.
Now I am on to week 2 tomorrow. Good luck to everyone who is doing this challenge.

I started on this weight loss journey because i am 100+ lbs overweight and my body is very unhappy with me. My goal right now is to at least start exercising...10 mins 3 times a day, either bicycle or treadmill. This I will do for a month then I want to add weight training 2 days/week. For now 10 mins, 3 times a day. So if you don't see something posted by noon Mon, Wed, Or Fri get after me please...LOL I'll take any and all help/encouragement/advice/motivation/swift kick in the rear!
Thanks
Lori

going out of town today to visit my daughter so my goal is to get my fitness in once I get back home this evening. Yesterday was another goof off day but did spend several hours cleaning our koi pond so did have some NEAT activities. Worked up a good sweat partly because it was 33 C.
But my heart rate monitor showed up yesterday so I am excited to try it out.
Also received my copy of the 1940's serial of Captain America. I will exercise to one episode which usually runs about 15 minutes.

I too started the 10 min. a day challenge a week ago - I want to continue this

Walk an hour each outing - twice a week (weekends)

Complete the challenges in this challenge - as long as it doesn't include eating fish, turnip greens or brussel sprouts emoticon

and HAVE FUN DOING IT!

Maybe adding 5 minutes a day is a little too much too soon? Maybe you could do 5 minutes a day for 3 or 4 days or even a week, then add 5 more minutes.Let your body get used to that for about a week, then add 5 more. Just a suggestion....:)

Last week I began a plan of my own where I started (on Sunday 17 Aug) with 15 minutes on the treadmill. I have to use the treadmill because at 76 and having had a spinal operation, my balance requires that I have something to hold on to. My plan was to add 5 minutes per day until 45 minutes and then start increasing levels of speed and incline. I also planned to add one strength exercise per day until I did at least 4/day. And separately to do 3 sets each of crunches and modified push up. Well I got to 30 minutes with crunches and push ups and then consistency went south. I skipped a day. Then I did 25 minutes by doing 15 and 10 minute sessions. Then another day skipped. So I am here trying to find a way to encourage consistency.
I try to not beat myself up when I don't exercise but maybe I need to start beating and stop excusing.

My challenge is to walk at least 10 minutes every day even if all I can do is walk up and down the hall way because the weather is to bad.The only thing that would keep me in is rainy and windy days, the two together would keep me in. But I don't have to think about that now as it is a bone dry summer.

I plan to ride my exercise bike 10 minutes a day while using my hand weights. I think this challenge is a good way to make exercise a daily habit.

My goal is to stick to a routine, which I haven't been very successful at. But I just finished my first challenge and it motivated me, so here I am ready for another.

I've been trying to get back on track for a little while now. Finding time to exercise is sometimes really difficult for me. This 10 minute daily exercise challenge is doable for me. Even on a busy day, I can find 10 minutes to walk.

I am new to the challenge as of today. So many times I've started exercise programs only to completely fail and stop doing them altogether and I'm sick of it! Even on my bad days, I'm still going to get out of bed and lift some weights if I don't get outside to walk.

I am new to the challenge today. My plan is to start exercising and keep exercising. I've lost count of how many times I've started a routine and have the novelty wear off, or I've hit a wall and given up. Not anymore! I'm in this for the long haul and I need to make this a permanent lifestyle change. I already purchased the Spark Activity Tracker and it is fantastic. It is making me conscious about the goals I am setting for myself. My aim this month is to keep up with the exercise and reach those goals.

I'll keep it in 3's:

Ride the stationary bike at least 10 minutes 4 nights a week
Walk 30 minutes or longer on the weekend - if it's bad weather I will so another form of exercise for 30 minutes
Walk 2500 or more steps a day

I will review this weekly to adjust!

On my way to a healthier life.

My main goal is to move even on the bad days, so instead of lying in bed in pain I might take just ten minutes out to feel like my life isn't completely controlled by chronic pain. This is my goal for the streak challenge, develop a way to keep fitness going when things get tough.

I got want to do it and do this for me. My mind is in battle and my body is at war. I'm in battle with myself and if I can over come myself than I can over come it all and do it one day at a time, let it go and get one step closer to my goal.

I have some physical issues which make traditional exercise difficult, but have to do yardwork and housework. So starting today I commit to doing 10 minutes to 30 minutes a day for my fitness activity. When I started SPARK I was very good about getting in my fitness minutes, but have slacked off from a daily program. So track nutrition, track fitness, and track weight - here I go!!!!

You can do it MJOHEMME! Being able to walk on both of your work breaks is great. I bet it's also good for stress. I found that putting some sliced strawberries in my cereal or oatmeal is a good way to sneak in another veggie.

I do walk at work on both breaks, for a total of 30 minutes 5x a week, so my goal is to do at least 10 minutes of non-walking exercise every day. I also want to increase my fruit and veggie intake, so I will start with eating at least 1 piece of fresh fruit a day.

My goals are to:

1. Walk 10-20 minutes 5 days/week.
2. Do yoga (beginner poses) at least 3 days/week in the AM.
3. Work up to two different kinds of fruit per day. (Fruit is very hard for me, I'm not a big fan but lately I've gotten addicted to having a banana every day.)

The things you want are just outside of your comfort zone. Break through and break through often!

Joining today!! I had committed last week to starting my 10 minute/day exercise today and then found this team just this morning!

Today I am going to get on my bike and head down to the beach. I plan to ride around my hood every day to do easy errands, and maybe to get a pedicure and treat myself for going such a great job last week!

Good luck with the surgery, ELPHABABLUE - I know it will be a challenge to recover after any kind of surgery. Maybe they will give you some therapy; then you can learn what kind of exercises will help your shoulder and follow up with them at home.

I like that tracker; maybe I'll fix myself up with one for August! I think it would keep me more accountable about moving.

Never give up!

I've been tracking activity again for a month now, but I'm going in for shoulder surgery in two weeks. I've built up such great momentum, so I'm sad about having to break it for the surgery. However, getting my shoulder fixed is one of my health goals.

I signed up for this challenge to keep me focused on maintaining some activity while I heal. I know I have to take it easy, so I plan to just walk around the house or maybe get one of those desk peddle thingies. I will also be extra mindful of the calories I take in.

This is a funny...I thought I was going to a Yoga class; I got the day wrong and when I got to the gym it was an aerobic class! I jumped and kicked and lifted weights for an hour! I don't know if I would have gone if I knew what I was getting into; but I am so glad it happened that way, because it felt great! (Tomorrow is Yoga LOL!)

I absolutely LOVE my pedometer ... it's my daily personal challenge to hit that 10,000 steps and it's really fun to try to beat your own high step counts too emoticon

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Hello everyone, I too am setting my goal to exercise each and everyday at least 10 minutes. I'll walk, do the mini trampoline, do an exercise video, light weights , dance, yoga etc.

Once I get started I feel great and love it however as we know that first step IS/WAS/USED TO BE the hardest! Not any longer, I'm committed!
Best of Luck to everyone here!

I want to walk 10 minutes everyday. I joined the challenge because I have a bad habit of putting my self last and not taking care of me. I want to lose 10 pounds before I start back to college in Sept. 22.

Walking at least 10 minutes a day. If the weather bad then doing one of the videos on this site to replace it.

Ain't nothing to it, but to do it....
