My goal is to add 10 minutes a day to the days I don't go to the gym.

My exercise goal is to walk 30 minutes (1.5 miles) a day. I feel so good walking that I continue on for another mile. The thing about a doable goal is the achievement factor and how it keeps me motivated.

Hi everyone -- I am not new to exercise and not new to SP by any means but it is summertime and with all of the kids at home the gym has become a bit of an out of reach thing and I have been so busy so I have put my fitness on the back burner. I figure if I can focus on *at least* 10 minutes I will be good!! So here I am!

My main goal is to just get in 10 min a day at a minimum, get to the gym when I can, spend lots of time in the pool, walk when I can...

Glad to be here!!

Great goals, LIZANDRASHAW!

For this team, my goal is to do at least 10 minutes a day. I joined this goal because the days when I don't do errands (I don't have a car so those days I walk a lot), I just sit and do nothing. I feel this goal will help me move those days and not just sit. emoticon

My challenge goals:

Focus: Empty Sink - I love to cook, but when the dishes pile up, I don't. So my goal is that my sink is always empty. I wash as I go.

Health Habits: TriangleFree - My Polar tracker reminds me to get up and move every hour. If I don't, it puts a triangle on my daily graph. My goal is to get up and move so that I stay triangle free.

Exercise: Plank Challenge - I don't have any problem getting cardio in every day, but I'm bad about resistance training. So I'm doing a plank challenge I found on the Runner's World website.

Nutrition: Log Water - Again, I don't have any problem drinking enough water. I just have trouble remembering to log it! So my commitment is that I'm going to log as I drink.

Fire: Post Daily Quote - I'm going to find a quote that inspires me every day and post it to the community feed.

My goal is to add strength training to walking and bike riding to support and maintain mobility. I have a habit of 'taking a rest day' usually on Sunday. I want to make functional movement a part of every day. 10 minutes is a very good place to begin. I will count yesterday, July 1, as day one of this challenge. I walked 40 minutes after a 75 minute yoga class.

My general goal is to take Daisy for a walk (1 1/2 - 2 1/2 miles) every morning followed by yoga, strength training or the stationary bike each day.

I have taken Daisy for a walk every day this past week - we are walking between 1.5 and 2.5 miles each morning depending on weather. I did Yoga, Strength Training and the Stationary bike at least 4 times this week as well.

I want focus more during my exercise. my brain tends to go off on a tangent and i dont work as effectively or as hard as i can. i want to start out my routines with 10 minutes of focus- on form, breath, or range of motion. i want to use my time better and a few time i have decided to not do go to a session because i was already at 10000 steps or i did not have much time, i am hoping a 10 minute goal can easily turn to goals o 10 mintues of ceaning/organizing or help me start to get mroe stuff done earlier so i can be ready for bed earlier

Hello all!! I am starting today by committing at least 10 min of exercise a day. (really more than that but I am mentally tricking myself with just 10 min) My fiance and I are looking at a gym around the corner from us today and I joined a challenge on this forum "The 30 day jump start your workout" I am semi retired so I have oodles of time to accomplish a better healthier life style and would love love love to loose a minimum of 50 pounds.

My goal is to exercise 10 minutes a day, day or night and keep it up. I had a small foot injury that is healing, but I believe I can at least ride by stationary bike. When I hurt my foot a month ago, maybe from exercising too much, I just stopped exercising period. Now I cannot break my plateau without exercise.... emoticon

My goal is at least 10 minutes of walking a day and hope it becomes a habit by the end of this challenge. Currently I'm on day 3 of a walking streak!

I joined SparkPeople in 2009 and was very committed, so committed in fact that I made sure to check in even when on vacation :)
i lost 35 pounds using a health program and SparkPeople. BUT life seemed to get in the way - I got older, busier with volunteer stuff and now some pounds have crept back up
I am committing to 10 minutes a day of exercise to get back on the healthy living train

I am keen to commit to ten minutes a day. of using my cross trainer. I am also committed to continuing with my other programme 3x per week as doing more than this causes problems with my arthritis. I have done a full day (with breaks of painting a room, cleaning and sanding for next coat so will have to count today as a ten min.

I love to walk but a knee injury has had me sidelined for a couple of years. My goal is to walk everyday for at least 10 min. and increase as I can. Small steps = big rewards and multiplies in to more steps, being more aware of what you eat, etc.

I joined the group at the beginning of the week because I felt inspired by SparkGuy Small Goals Commitment Challenge.

Right now my BIG commitments are exercising everyday and following my meal plan. My SMALL goal is adding an extra 10 min cardio to my exercise routine (and I noticed during this first week that sometimes it's the small goal that makes me feel like doing my regular exercise)

Tell us why you joined the challenges and what goals you hope to accomplish during the next four weeks!

I joined the challenge today because I am looking for something that I can accomplish to help boost my confidence. I have been struggling for so long that I am having difficulty believing that I can really even do this.
I hope to accomplish a regular routine of exercise, daily routine of tracking food &exercise and to choose a plan of eating that I can live with.
Note: I am at my highest weight ever and my physical health continues to deteriorate. I'm scared to try and scared to fail again but I'm even more scared to do nothing! I can't give up on myself!

Over the winter I gained about 5 pounds. I have been on maintenance near my goal weight for a while, and I am not happy about this weight creeping back on. I was fairly active all winter, so it wasn't that. I just let myself increase the snacking-habit! The waistband on all my pants is uncomfortable, because all 5 pounds is sitting right on my belly! So my goal for the next four weeks is to refresh my determination and enthusiasm for a healthy lifestyle. I want to take some fitness outdoors at least once a day (weather permitting). I want to limit my snacking, especially in the evening. I want to improve my hula-hooping, something I have been learning just recently. (I never could work the darn thing before!) so, here goes!

This was my first week back after hospitalization, and I wanted to be able to get back to my original workout schedule. But realistically, being down for almost four weeks doesn't quite allow a body to bounce back as quickly as when I was a teenager.
1. So my aim was to at least get my walking and running schedule down...and I did it!
2. I also want to get back to 5-6 small meals a day to keep my metabolism strong (hospital schedule wreaks havoc on food schedule!). That part I'm still working on.
3. I also want to not feel guilty if I take weekends off to let my body rest and repair in preparation for the upcoming week, that I'm allowed to just enjoy myself. If I do something that "works" my body (tour, dance, gardening, etc.), I want it to be incidental and not a "programmed" workout. This upcoming weekend will test that.

Even 10 minutes of exercise consistently over the next four weeks would be amazing, and hopefully MOTIVATE me to do even more so here we go...

Goal for the first week: walk for 10 minutes every single day and log it in fitness tracking (and try to remember to wear my Fitbit!)

I tend to over complicate things and I hope this challenge will help me keep it simple.

I'm ready to take the 10 minutes of exercise p/day challenge. I'm still ill with a bad cold, but I'm not going to let that stop me. I will walk outside a minimum of 10 minutes p/day. I also typically do exercise dvd's a couple of times a week, but I need to get consistent. 10 minutes I can definitely handle, it's a manageable goal. And then I look forward to increasing and expanding my goals.

My plans are to break up my workouts into at least three 10 minute exercise sessions. Since I have a ways to go before I hit my goal and I am out of shape I think it is more doable and I am less likely to give up then just having to do it for 30 minutes straight. We will see. But I believe I can!!!

Hello everyone!
My goal is to exercise for at least 10 minutes for 4 weeks. I plan to use mostly videos from sparkpeople.tv for that. Maybe I will figure out some other forms of exercising. I used to do Dance Central (a game that gives you points for correct dance moves). I also started to take stairs at every opportunity - sometimes it gives me endorphin rush, it's great! :D After those 4 weeks I hope that it will become a habit for me to exercise. I never really liked exercise so this is new for me. But I hope that this challenge and forums will make me stick to it.

Day 1 I am committed to doing 10 minutes of strength training exercise daily.
I did some stretching first , then used the hand weights for arm exercises
Next came some lunges and modified pushups ( starting on knees) I didn't realize how much weaker my left side is than my right. I will work on that. Have a great day

Each day is a present, Make the most of it!

My goal is to reestablish daily routines that include at least 10 minutes of intentional exercise, in addition to my daily steps.

New to the team. I already go to the gym 3-4 days per week but find on the days I'm not exercising that I go over in calories. I need the exercise to offset the calories. I still have 10lbs to reach my goal and I think daily exercise will be the answer.

My goal is to find an exercise routine that excites me so that exercising every day doesn't feel like a chore.

I started 10min a day 2 weeks ago now, joined this team 1 week ago. Going strong and keeping to it!

I have been running regularly 3 days a week, and recently sometimes 4, but I want to consistently get some exercise in even on my "rest" days. So, I'm working on a 10 minutes of exercise streak EVERY DAY.

My goal for this challenge is to stick with it. I also want to increase my exercise from 10 minutes back to the 30 I used to do.

So excited. Started tracking my food today, and yesterday did the seated 11 minute cardio work out. Also every time I go by my desk chair I do 5 chair squats. It's a start.

Working towards my goal!

My goal is to keep my blood pressure and cholesterol in check with diet and exercise rather than with medications. I am also hoping to get better core strength and become more tone. I have had multiple back surgeries and am limited in what I can do but I will not allow that to stop me from doing whatever I can to improve my health and keep the mobility that I do have.

Hello. I have to lose 15 lbs in order to get a hip replacement. But it's difficult to exercise. I am checking out the limited mobility videos. This is a great start!

Working towards my goal!
