Hi Rachelle,

It has been some time since you got the advice of fellow SP Team members and I was wondering if you are back on track or not? If not, then read on.

One of the things I have learnt through Sparkpeople is that I am gong to have good and bad days on the journey to my goals. What is important is not that you have had a bad day with your eatin or exercise or both!! What IS IMPORTANT is that you carry on regardless. That you realize that perfection is not attainable and little or big things will always go wrong an upset your mind. Just tell yourself that you knew this was likely and carry on.

I am not suggesting that you use the above as an excuse to fall off the wagon. No I am not. I am suggesting that you think of the above as a support system in itself, to help you get back on track.

All the best. emoticon

Sue, I'm having the same issue. Sometimes I find if I change things up a bit, I can get remotivated - try a new workout regimen, find a new/ different meal to cook, take time out for me. Hope you're feeling better :)

I have been Sparking seriously since Aug. So far so good. But it seems this week it just isn't there! I am feeling tired again, having trouble keeping my food under control and I'm just not in a good mood. I go to bed with the plan of making tomorrow a good day, but it just doesn't seem to happen.
As far as baby goals.
1. Get my energy back.
2. Be in a happier mood.
3. Get back on track with my food.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Rachelle,

I am also in my first week. It is so very hard to change eating habits and amounts in one day. I haven't been adhereing to my diet comletely but I am exercising according to my schedule. I figure feeling good from the endorphins helps me feel good about the changes I am making. You can do this one day at a time. When you log on every day it is a new day with new goals! When I fall off I just pull myself up by my stretch pants and start again.
Recommitt every day instead of committing to be completely faithfull to your diet every day. It will take us a little while to get into the habit of laying out our food plans for each and eating only what is on the schedule. You can do it. A thing I do now is I love fresh flowers! I get some from my gardens or I buy some for myself instead of that food I go to for satisfaction or instant pleasure. You can do it!!

Rachelle,

Just think -- tomorrow is a new day. Your slate starts clean -- your calories start at 0! You can make of it what you like, but don't worry about what happened in the past. There's nothing you can do to change it, only lessons to be learned!

Glad we were able to help! emoticon

Fievel & Healthymommy,

Thank you both SO much for your pointers. It is such an ENORMOUS help to know that someone is out there willing to hear it & help me push past this speed bump.

You both have NO idea how helpful it is to have people even through the internet that won't push my complaining away.

Thank you both for reminding me that i should be accountable for everyday of the week & that I shouldn't beat myself up about it.

I guess that toughest part about me "messing up" is the repercussions. Here i am on Tuesday STILL punishing myself for the weekend.

I feel low right now. I honestly feel like CRAP.

I jsut counted my calories & I'm NOT happy!

GAWWW this is SO frustrating yet at the same time I don't want to give up so quickly like I have before...

& yes it IS depressing!

emoticon

Thank you both so much for responding to my post

I'm NOT going to quit.. I WILL do this this time
I keep re-reading what you said Healthymommy: "it's the not quitting that counts"

Thank you!

Rachelle - this is exactly the kind of thing this thread is for!!

Fievel - thanks for responding!

You can't beat yourself up about it. That's what this program is all about - getting you to find your "weak" points and learning how to make healthier choices and overcome them. We all have bad days, weeks, months, but it's the not quitting that counts. It's tough when you first start out and you're so into it, and then you see just how quickly you can fall off that proverbial wagon. It's depressing, and if you let it, it can take over. You have to find the will to push past it - forget about it and start over. Sometimes easier said than done, but give it time. Nobody's perfect!! It takes a lot of work.

Take a few minutes to think about what parts were really a struggle this weekend and then think about what you could have done differently. This way, you'll be better prepared when it happens again. And if it does, accept it and move on. You CAN do this!!! emoticon

Rachelle,

I have found that in this situation it's best to reaffirm your goals! You can always start over with Spark...

One weekend is going to happen...don't allow it to become a habit, and you will be fine! Yeah, you might see a few more pounds on the scale, but you can learn from that and remind yourself that the weekends count on the scale too!

I have found that I am better on my weekends (which run Thursday - Saturday) if I make myself accountable on the first day back to work (Sunday). So my weigh-in day is Sunday...then I am less likely to cheat on the weekend! That was my theory, and I was right! When I knew I would have to weigh in Sunday morning, I would really watch what I was eating all week instead of just the last few days before my weigh in.

I do know people who belong to Weight Watchers, and make sure they go to the Friday or Saturday morning meetings, so they can "cheat" on the weekend. I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish, but I'm equally unsure how that thought process leads to a lifestyle change! Probably not the best way to think...

Just a few pointers...I hope that I was able to help!

Oh man..am I the first to post in this topic?!

Well I guess this isn't an emergency but if I don't fix this now...it very well may become one.

I started sparkpeople last tuesday & I had been doing GREAT up until

THE WEEKEND!

Friday & Saturday were eating fests & I was at the cabin so I didn't get all my water in.

Then sunday came & we had a party for mother's day & I boyfriend's birthday & I feel like I forgot how to be healthy that whole weekend.

Then yesterday was just TRAGIC...the whole day feeling sorry for myself.
emoticon

I want to be back on track but for some reason I can't find the track again!

HELP! emoticon
