The Horn of Warrior Fierceness has been tooted!

I grabbed an apple for my night-time snack tonight and it tasted juicy, fresh, and delicious... I also had a few dark chocolate coated almonds and feel totally satisfied... I can feel my spark resurfacing, guys, so I'm tooting loudly and proudly :)

I want to be inspired! Who has accomplished great things this weekend??

I ran 6.5 miles this morning; the first time I've run that far and at a pace I'm very pleased with. I'm ready to run my first 10K in two weeks!

Dear FFUSWs,

Okay, I'll share. Debbie talked me into it. I did not walk or run a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, etc., but I DID succeed in getting my family to go to a wonderful Walk with a Doc event on Saturday! And, it was a COLD and WINDY day!

That was one of my accomplishments this weekend!

I did my first 5K on May 8th - it was wicked cold (not quite 40 degrees at the end of the race) with 20 mph winds and even stronger gusts. I had haoped to run the entire race and finish in under 40 mins. Turns out though, I ran the entrire race and finished in (OFFICIAL TIME) 36:21!!! WOOHOO!!!

I did my first 5k this Saturday, it was the Iron girl 5k/10k in Del Mar. over 4000 women were there, it was absolutely amazing. I came in 7th in my age level and 99th in the 5k race. I also had my best time at 27:35.

My next 5k is in 3 weeks on memorial day weekend, and I have even inspired my mom to do it with me!

And my best friend convinced me to sign up for a half-marathon in August.

Congrats to everyone out there who is competing in their first race! I am so glad that I started doing these races, they are so invigorating!

I did my first 5K walk on Saturday to raise money for breast cancer research and victims. It was AMAZING to be out there, and I was hoping to finish in under an hour. Instead, I finished in 49.40, at 16:01 minutes/mile--that's a PR for walking! I'm determined to get to the point of being able to RUN a 5K before the summer is out; if I can walk that fast for that long, I can finish training to run it! What's even cooler is that hubby, who has had NO interest in running, walked it with me (albeit slower) and is willing to do it again, even if I choose to run--what a good guy!!

I did a 3.5 mile women's only race on Sunday and it was awesome and completely moving to be running alongside hundreds of strong women of all fitness levels. I finished the race in 38:15 and reached the 5K mark at 35:23, a PR for me.

It also means I ran 11-minute miles! When I did my first mile non-stop at 5'6" and 248 lbs back in August '09, I did it in 16 minutes.

So if any of you think that you CAN'T be a running warrior, oh, you so can. I believe you have it in you!

I am currently training for my first 5K walk on 6/12 - the AT&T Giant Race (to support Project Open Hand) in San Francisco!

The stage is set for an incredible finish - through the stadium and across home plate! My goal: to finish in less than an hour, run at least some of the distance, and enjoy the beauty of the bay and the park.
