I'm fully embracing my new lifestyle. I'm not a yo-yo dieter, I decided that I was tired of being heavy, I'm tired of knowing what to do but not knowing how to do it and I found Spark. I quit Diet Coke in the beginning of 2011 because when I drank less of it, I wasn't as hungry, that was my first answer to how to do it...and I lost a little weight. I knew exercise was a key (my second how) and I had an elliptical machine that I pathetically made 11 minutes on before I was exhausted - that was the beginning of exercise for me and putting my need for exercise before needs of others. I also knew that I had to eat better but that was the real - I don't know how...then I found Spark. I needed someone to tell me what to eat, how much was ok, what did I need for calories, what about fat versus carbs? I needed to learn how...but Spark was my third 'how'...and I've been succeeding ever since. And I will succeed. I treat myself to small rewards now and then, I bought myself some ankle weights as a treat, and some hand weights as another treat, and I also bought a couple of pairs of work pants, as a reward so I would look nice. My reward is being able to go as long as I want on my elliptical - I can go 35 minutes at resistance 5 these days. I eat within my calorie and nutrition range almost every day. I also do ST and walk outside weather permitting. So...my rewards are weight loss, increased strength, loss of inches, increased confidence in myself...but, I also deserve a treat...because I'm me, I'm learning, I'm succeeding in my goals to health and fitness and it would be lovely to be recognized for that.
