In January I started this journey, this change in my life. I set out to lose more than 70 pounds. I worried about my dedication so I lost 10 pounds at home and then rewarded myself with a membership at the gym. When I lost 10 more pounds, I rewarded myself with two months worth of workouts with a trainer. When I lost 10 more pounds, I had to throw out most of my old clothes -- I bought a new pair of jeans. I HAD TO!!! But I rewarded myself with an afternoon of shopping in "normal" people stores -- no more Large Lady stores. I rewarded a friend by taking him along and letting him talk me into TRYING the smaller sizes (which fit!) and then I bought him lunch. I just ran my first EVER 5K and I took myself for a little pedicure pamper. I just crossed under 200 pounds and I took myself for a relaxing long stroll along a waterway with cute little shops. I am working hard toward my goal -- I'm more than half way -- but feel like I deserve the "Big Reward" because I'm also advocating for others -- I email friends, I encourage them at the gym, I show them things my trainer showed me. I see the light in their eyes that they too want to succeed like I am and I don't let it go out. If I won the Shopping Spree I'd take my kids and get them something because they've been SUPER SUPPORTIVE through this last 4 months and they deserve a lot of the credit.
