Last year I decided that enough was enough. Not only was I long overdue to lose the last ten pounds of baby weight since my baby was about to turn one but I needed to do more. I had to change my lifestyle or I was going to end up like so much of my family - obese and unhealthy.
I lost my baby weight but knew that wasn't enough. I was still ten pounds overweight. If I lost that much I'd still only be barely in my healthy weight range. I decided I was going to run a marathon. Well, I decided that EVENTUALLY I was going to run a marathon. I started slowly and gradually built my way up to running 3 miles, then a 10K, then a half-marathon.
Two days ago I ran my first full marathon! I did it! In the last year I've lost a total of 15 lbs. I'm still working at it and I'm not about to give up.
See? I totally deserve a treat.
*There will be days when I don't know if I can run a marathon, but there will be a lifetime of knowing that I have*
