Can you believe it?!! It's the end of the road!! Unfortunately, I did not end the challenge at my goal. I reached my goal a couple weeks ago and then proceeded to sabotage myself back up to 133. However, I am feeling inspired and can't wait until my official 6-month (I think it is Friday). I hope everyone is doing well. Keep your head up!

Start: Labor Day (Sept 6th)
End: October 18th

Streaking Goals
* track food at least 6 days a week emoticon
I have gotten a lot better on this. Still haven't tracked on the weekends. But as long as I am doing it during the week I think I am okay.

* Run/cardio 3 times per week emoticon
Didn't quite to do 3 times last week. Got a 7-miler in this weekend. It was pretty comfortable. Definitely think I am going to do 8 or 9 miles for my next long run.

* Burn 2200 calories per week minimum emoticon

Start Weight: 135.6
Current Weight (9/13): 133.7 (-1.9 lbs)
Current Weight (9/20): 134.7 (+1 lbs)
Current Weight (9/27): 133.2 (-1.5lbs)
Current Weight (10/4): 131.5 (-1.7lbs)
Goal Weight: 130

I am losing again!!! I am so exited. I've lost 4.1lbs since starting this challenge. I only have 1.5lbs to reach my goal in the next two weeks!

I hope that everyone is still keeping up with the challenge. I think it's a fabulous opportunity to have something really great to celebrate at the 6-month point. Keep it up! Don't give up!

Have a great week emoticonemoticon

Great job Grazin! You are still 1 pound down from your start. Just refocus and I know you can do it. The fruit and veggies can be hard. I know that I don't like fruit all that much. So I basically overload my lunch sandwiches with veggies and always get a side of veggies for dinner. Then my snacks are usually a fruit and yogurt.

Hope that helps.

Well kind of, I tracked five days of the week though. More than I have in months!

* Run/cardio 3 times per week emoticon
I got in two runs including running in my first race. It was a pretty chill, untimed 4K run, but I feel good having one under my belt. I ran it in 21 minutes.

* Burn 2200 calories per week minimum emoticon
Definitely got this one down with 2600 calories burned, yay!

Yay! Lost some weight despite the continuing birthday celebrations. Alright I have to cut off the celebrating now. I need to get back into my routine. 3 pounds and 3 weeks to go. I CAN DO THIS!!

Great job, PSSN4FITNESS!! I read a blog last week that really put it into words. You can't stop living just because you are trying to lose weight. There are always going to be occasions that is worthy of slipping a little. Birthdays are definitely one of them. It is being able to allow yourself that piece of cake or food of choice and then go back to the life that you are trying to live!! Good job on the long run! I hope that eventually I will be there! For now, I am working on just being able to run for a mile!!!

Staceed, I just wanted to say congrats on losing 1.6 pounds! That's great even with a little indulgence. Just get back in the groove with nutrition and I am sure you'll see more pounds off next week.

So this weekend was my birthday celebration.... whoops! I did a lot of exercise (ran 9 miles) on Saturday, but also ate a lot.

Start: Labor Day (Sept 6th)
End: October 18th

Streaking Goals
* track food at least 6 days a week emoticon
I just cannot seem to get back in this habit. My meals just vary so much that it is such a hassle. I know, excuses excuses....

* Run/cardio 3 times per week emoticon
I am really feeling back in the zone with my running. I even bought my running shoes as my latest reward for being under 135lbs. Can't wait to hit the trails in them. Now I am thinking of training for a half marathon!

* Burn 2200 calories per week minimum emoticon
Blew this out of the water with over 2800 calories burned thanks to my long run this weekend!

Start Weight: 135.6
Current Weight (9/13): 133.7 (-1.9 lbs)
Current Weight (9/20): 134.7 (+1 lbs)
Goal Weight: 130

Okay, I am up a pound. I know that I ate a lot, but I was really hoping my cardio would balance it out. Maybe it is muscle gain since that was my longest run EVER...Maybe wishful thinking. Anyway, it's time to return to basics as far as nutrition is concerned.

My week was great until Saturday. We had a couple of my cousin's friends over and it was the first time these guys had been on base. Imagine living in the Korean culture with no connection to American food. *shudder* We took them to the Chili's here on base and although my intentions started out really good, it didn't end as well as I would have liked. But I am not too upset. It could have been worse. A few months ago, I would have turned that one cheat into a three or four day feast!!!

Start: Labor Day (Sept 6th)
End: October 18th

Streaking Goals
* track food at least 6 days a week
I did 5. Although I know I did okay on Sunday and actually followed my meal plan, I didn't track it!!
emoticon
* Run at least 3 days a week
Yay!!! I am doing really well on my running! I did 4 days this week!!
emoticon
* Strength training at least 3 days a week
I did 4 days!! I finally got "The Wave by The Firm" in the mail. I have been adding this to my already planned exercises from Spark. It will take me several weeks before I am able to do the wave and get a work out out of it!
emoticon
* Drink 8 glasses of water a day
This one was easy for me!! Although Sunday I was cutting it close!
emoticon
* Eat clean at least 6 days a week
Not so easy! I did five days of clean eating, but Friday night we had pizza and then Chili's Saturday night. I ate clean the rest of the day except for the evening meals. It happens... I am realizing that eating clean has became a way of life for me. I have more of a tendency to eat clean than not.
emoticon
Start Weight: 193.0
Current Weight (9/20): 188.4
Goal Weight: 155

I felt discouraged today when I weighed in. I know that not having a good weekend isn't going to help my Monday morning weigh-ins, but I was bummed to see only 1.6 pounds off from the previous Monday. I know my ultimate goal is to make better habits and truth be told I feel much more successful about that than anything! My biggest thing is that we have a ball in December and I really want to see myself wearing something attractive this year!!

Good luck to each of you! I hope you have a GREAT week!!!

Absolutely, Jacquieann!!! My hardest part is not seeing the weight fall off when I am working really hard at it. I have to remind myself that my goal is 2 pounds a week, not 5, and even when I don't see 2 pounds gone at the end of the week that I am making new habits. Not only for myself, but for my family as I try to offer them healthier choices and be a good role model.

I would love to join this challenge! It is perfect, even though I am a day late joining! Over the weekend, I made up my mind that I was not going to yo-yo anymore!! Seeing that it has been 6 months since I joined sparks and I am still at the same weight is sad!! I will post what I need to as soon as I figure out what I am supposed to be doing!!

Hi BLACKHAWK053,

My suggestion is to try pilates. It's great for people who have arthritis or knee injures, because most of the workout is done laying on your back! My dad does it and he loves it, he has problems with his knees. I would say buy windsor pilates 20 minutes DVD, thats the one I do. When you're ready to move up, do the 50 minute DVD.

Hope everything works out!

Ok I thank Jackie for setting this up I am not sure If I am doing this right. But I love a good challenge. I have been struggling with injuries, on both legs, which has reduced my cardio dramatically. As a result I am now facing a difficult uphill battle emotionally. But I am determined to lose my remaining 35 lbs, after 54 I am not stopping. So I have a battle. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm in! I copied the categories, pasted into a page in Word and saved it in my Spark folder on the desktop.

I am going to add something (personal challenge): my BMI is down to 34. Under 30 is no longer obese. That's my new goal...that and to kiss the 200's good-bye!

We can do this, friends!!

Nice idea. I have never done vlogging, but maybe now is a good time to start. I have to figure out how to use my web cam =). I think that everyone should at least upload a "before" and "after" full length picture to start. I have a few spare points so I can help with the goodies.

Yay! I am getting really excited to kick it into high gear.

Well I'm in!! I will post my information sometime today, i was just checking in!! Maybe we can do some kinda give away to the person(s) who lose the most weight? IDK if you guys are really big on vloging, but maybe if we can get everyone thats joining the challenge should all get on youtube and post a full body video between now, and sep-6. Opening for this challenge should between now and the sep-5th-2010 before midnight. Everyone that wants to join just let us know or inbox me and i will write everyone names down and send a gift for joining the challenge. I dont have many points but im working on it lol...So, here is how it should go.Everyone that wants to join have to sign up between now and sep-5th before midnight. Everyone should upload a video of them selfs between now and sep.5th NOW if your not very big on vloging you can just upload ONE video now ,and one final video of your self before the challenge is over. But in order to be counted in for the give away you have to log in atleast once a week leting us know your progress! My weight in day is gonna be on a Saturday being that i started on a saturday, but i can just post in on Monday. Well im writing in the dark so excuse the mess of a message lol. You guys let me know what u think of this.....

If it's worth having, it's worth fighting for.

Since we all joined in April, it may surprise you that our collective 6-Month Sparkiversary is FAST approaching. On October 18-24, 2010, we will have been living our lives the Spark way for 6 whole months!

I am getting excited for hitting this milestone and wanted to see if any of my fellow teammates would be interested in joining a challenge with me to hit an important weight loss or fitness goal by our six-month mark.

Here's what I am doing - a combination of spark streaks and weight loss goals. If you are joining in, copy the info below in your post. Let's post once a week on Mondays with a weight update and an update on my weekly streaking goals. Just put a "goal met" emoticon next to each streaking goal if you completed it that week.

Start: Labor Day (Sept 6th)
End: October 18th

Streaking Goals
* track food at least 6 days a week
* Run/cardio 3 times per week
* Burn 2200 calories per week minimum

Start Weight: ____
Current Weight (_/_): ____
Goal Weight: 130

Hope others will make the commitment with me!
