Anyone still here? I'm in a similar boat to those below. Trying to lose 10 lbs - although I would be happy with losing 5 lbs. I'm at 138 and I suppose that was my pre-pregnancy weight. However, I would like to get to my happy weight of 125 - 132lbs. Being 5/3 gives me very little room for the extra lbs. I'm doing ok on WW so far - have lost about 4 lbs in 3 weeks. Tracking the food has really helped me think before shoving candy or similar into my mouth. My daughters are 13 months and 2 1/2. I'm planning to also start going to gym again - even if it's just twice a week to start. I'm motivated but cautious about being over zealous and then losing steam.

Is anyone from southern Connecticut or New York City? I recently moved back to Greenwich, CT from NYC and I'd love to find a local weight loss buddy. I have a daughter is almost 4 months old and I haven't dropped the remaining 7 pounds I gained during pregnancy. I want to fit into my jeans again! I've been eating healthy for 6 weeks now (not one dessert when I used to eat a dessert every day) and haven't dropped one pound! It's so depressing. I need to start cutting back on my calories more to see some results and start exercising.

I can totally relate. When I was trying to get pregnant, I had the attitude of "next month, I'll be pregnant, so my weight this month doesn't matter as much". That quickly added up to at least 10 extra pounds before I finally did get pregnant. Now I have thankfully lost the baby weight and most of that "extra", but would love to lose about 10lbs more. My baby is now 9 months. I find the most useful tool for me is the food tracker, because it gives me pause before mindlessly snacking.

I was so not motivated to get the baby weight off after having my son 14 yrs ago. I eventually started Elmo-sizing with my toddler when he was that age. You should have seen me using canned food as weights. I'm sure it was comical to watch, but we had fun! ;o)

So yesterday I just did a little video on here linked to the January Challenge. Then I had chips and dip for a snack. So far so good though, I've stayed away from pop! That's hard for me.
Tonight I did the Turbo Jam 20 min with my 4 yr old son. I'll have to exercise with him more often. I tried not to laugh but his coordination is lacking. He was pretty cute though, made exercising tolerable. Now that he's in bed I'll do the upper body video from the January Challenge.

Hope someone joins me in this...
Anyway joined the January challenge this morning. So, I did the little 9 min workout this morning and then 40 min Turbo Jam tonight. Bring on the results. I'm not weighing myself until next Monday January 7th. Surely if I can keep up with the work-outs I'll see some change?!

Still had a headache but managed to go tobogganing for a while today. I know weight loss is a long term commitment but slightly discouraged by my scales. I was 140 then a few days later 138! But now I'm back up to 141?! All in under a week. I know I shouldn't be on the scale that often and we all fluctuate a little but up that much????

Anyway, 2013 here I come.

Saturday no exercise. Sunday tobogganing for 1/2 hour plus. It's hard work pulling kids up a hill!

Woohoo! 3 days in a row I've worked out. That's pretty good. I'm going to see how long I can keep it going. I want to try to workout (somehow) 6 days a week. We'll see how long it lasts.

Hi,
I'm 33, almost 34. I have a boy (4) and girl (2). I was down to my pre-baby weight (about 130) but have put on weight since. I'm about 140 now. I hope to get down to 130 again by June (my son's 5th birthday). When I reach that goal I hope to keep going and get down to my pre-hubby cooking for me weight 125.
Good luck to all of you. Let's keep each other motivated.
Yesterday I did a 2km walk/jog and today I did 20min Turbo Jam workout. I'm trying to cut back on junk food too. I'm a work in progress.

I really like this site. It is helping me to eat balanced meals and cut out extra sweets. I have a 3 year old and a 6 month old. I have lost 2 pounds already and have 7 more to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. Good luck everyone!

Wow, it's nice to know that I'm not alone with those last few baby pounds! My son is turning 3 this weekend, and I still have about 9 lbs to lose. My weight has done a lot of fluctuating over the last year, due to being on different meds for migraines. I finally got off of them all together, and hopefully I can drop this last little bit of post pregnancy weight for good!

I am new to SparkPeople, still leaning how everything works. Baby weight is so frustrating! Pesky is the perfect description. I have the issue of most of the extra weight hanging on in the mid-section as well. Got a good 9 lbs to go. Best efforts and wishes to all of us.

I'm in a similar boat to JinyKay. Our youngest is 3, and I just never was able to shake off the last 5 lbs of my pregnancy weight with her. Realizing it's not going to come off on its own, and I need to be more purposeful in getting fit and eating healthier.

I have a similiar story to all of you... except my youngest is now 4. I am having trouble motivating myself and finding the time to exercise. I would like to lose that last 10lbs and not gain it back. I think that the accountability here is the key for me. Hopefully, this will be helpful.

I share your pain. My boys are 4 and 2. Although I lost the pounds rather quickly, I wasn't where I wanted to be before my last one. My problem area is the middle. From the waist down I'm pretty good. From the chest up, pretty good. Stomach is a big old flabby mess! I need to really ramp it up. I'm just so tired of hating my reflection, only wearing clothes that hide me. I'm 5'7" and fluctuate between 145-150. I just want to get down to at least 140 and STAY THERE!!! I just joined Sparkpeople today, so I'm hoping the added motivation will help. Good luck!

Hi Amanda, I'm in the same boat! I have a 5 year old and a 15 month old. I have lost and regained the same 10 pounds about four times already this year since having my baby. Luckily I just found Sparkpeople, so hopefully this is the end of my yo-yo dieting! I lost the weight easily after my first child, but I'm at 127 pounds right now and used to about 115. I tend to lose easily but then gain it all back within about two weeks (literally!) I think I've been taking too restrictive of an approach, which helps with the quick loss but is impossible to maintain. Looking forward to starting a healthier lifestyle and fitting (comfortably) back in my jeans again at a more reasonable pace so that I don't suffer horrible cravings and gain it all back again! I'm going slow and resonable this time, no more 'low carbing' it! Good to meet you and good luck!

Hi Amanda,

I'm exactly the same, I have a 3 year old and a one year old and I'm just really depressed about the 5-8kg I should lose. I just don't fit into anything. I bumped into an ex the other day and I could see he was, lets say 'surprised' by how I look. Those last few kilo's really make the difference between looking great and being completely yuck. I've been watching what I eat and exercising several times a week but its not shifting. I hope this will make the difference.

I am almost exactly in the same boat. I have a 4, 2, and 5 weeks old. I am about 137 right now and want to be at 130. Pre baby I would fluctuate between 128-132...of course I was running 6 miles a day and doing the Insanity workout. I fit in an hour of workout time each day...it's my way of de-stressing and of focusing. Hopefully I will get the ok to workout this week (had a c-section). I joined Sparkpeople to meet others in a similar place and for motivation to stay on track (easy to lose sight with lots of little people to take care of!).

Hi,
I am finally trying to do the same thing. Although my youngest is 3, so I have much less of an excuse. What really helped me these past few weeks was setting a smaller goal. Someone had posted a challenge of lose 4 by july 4. Logging on every week and being forced to tell other people if I was being good or bad, if I lost the pound or not was a huge motivator. Some how for me not letting other people down was much more helpful. I guess it is easier to lie to myself.

Good luck!

Weclome - that is my goal as well, I hope I don't kill myself trying or make it so restrictive I can't get there and only leave myself frustrated. If I do great - If you do EXCELLENT! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome to the team!

Give up everything you love, and everything that tastes good = weight loss! Simple as that!

"Eating what stands on one leg (mushrooms and plant foods) is better than eating what stands on two legs (fowl), which is better than eating what stands on four legs (cows, pigs, and other mammals)"....... Chinese proverb

Hi,
I'm also trying to lost the weight from the last baby! I am 34 amd have four kids, ages 9, 7, 5, and 11 months. Before my last child I was about 124 lbs. Now I'm at 132 lbs. It's those last few lbs that are the hardest!
I'm having trouble just staying motivated to make the right food choices everyday, so I'm hoping this website will help! I just re-joined my gym, and I'm trying to use the treadmill at home in the morning before the kids wake up - which is what I should be doing right now instead of being on the computer!
Anyways, good luck with your weight loss goals!

hi! my name is amanda and i'm brand new to sparkpeople. i have two little girls, a 3 year old and a 1 year old, and am still trying to get back to my "happy" weight of 125. i'm 5'2" - i fluctuate between 130 and 138, right now I'm somewhere around 135, i think. i really want to reach my goal by my birthday, in march. i am so sick of feeling this way!! would love encouragement and accountability. i have been doing a bootcamp two times a week for a month now but have been eating poorly and really enjoying all the holiday goodies, so i think i'm being counterproductive. help!!
