Psalm 71:8 NKJV) Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day.

Praising God all day takes focus... focusing on Him; watching, paying attention and listening to the things He is doing in our lives.

Some people praise God just in worship service at church. Some people praise God when they get around other Christians and some praise God after they just had a victory in a situation. But David says, let it be all the day.

We praise God in the storm. We praise God when we are out of the storm. We praise God walking down the street. We praise God in the grocery store and we praise God at work.

We praise Him all the Day... wherever we go and wherever we are!! Amen.

Galatians 5:13 NKJV) For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Where do we find God in this world that is so big? God is everywhere, always working to help someone or some situation. He is always moving. Where there is a NEED, we will find Him.

It doesn't matter who we are or how much we have, there is always something else we think we need. We may have a lot of money already, but we want more. We may have a huge family, but no quiet time. We may have a big beautiful home, but no time to enjoy it.

We can always find something that we would like to have to make our situation better. Is it a legitimate need or is it just a want or desire?

Ask ourselves today, do we really need these things we have set our hearts after? Maybe we have all we need right now.

Have we gotten so caught up in what we think we need that now we cannot enjoy life without it or them? As long as we keep chasing these so called needs, there is no time for anyone or anything else.

We are all called to serve, not ourselves, but others, through love.

Putting aside ourselves today, and serving others, will fill that emptiness, bringing us joy and happiness that will last a long time.

Proverbs 11:11 (NKJV) By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

Did you know that your presence and my presence in a city can bring blessings to that city?

As children of God, our presence in a place brings God's blessing upon that place. We carry His presence wherever we go.

Because God's spirit is in us, our presence can drive demonic forces away from a place. This holds true for towns, cities, places of employment, schools we attend and more.

Does it mean everything around us will be trouble-free? Of course not, but it does mean that wherever we go, God will be there with us. And wherever God is, there is His blessing.

On the contrary, wherever there is wickedness, the city will be overthrown by that wickedness.

It can be pretty easy to spot areas that are full of wickedness. There is no peace and there is constant trouble. Wickedness brings chaos and strife.

So today, remember that the place where you live is being blessed because of your presence in that town, and God's presence in you.

Be blessed today and enjoy the presence of God in your life.

Matthew 5:7 (NKJV) Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

God is merciful. He has shown each and every one of us mercy. We are all deserving of punishment for our sins. But He saw fit to bestow mercy upon us instead of judgment.

So how do we treat others?

Are we merciful to others, or are we harsh and judgmental? Do we allow people to make mistakes without jumping down their throats, or do we jump all over them at the first little thing that they do wrong?

According to Jesus, if we wish to obtain mercy, we need to give mercy.

So are we doing this? Are we sowing mercy?

Nothing deep or philosophical here. Just some straight truth to help us stay on the right track.

Honor God and enjoy your weekend.

Proverbs 10:12 (NKJV) Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.

This is a very simple, straight forward verse that speaks so much to us if we let it.

Hatred runs rampant in the world these days. It has become a way of life for millions and millions of people, including so very many of God's children... followers of Christ.

Evil has devastated so many of us in many different ways. And the after-effect of these attacks is bitterness and hatred toward the perpetrators.

It's a hard thing sometimes to lay aside hate and love someone who has hurt you. We will never claim that it's easy to do. But it's something that we are commanded to do by God himself.

And Jesus taught this very thing in this verse:

Matthew 5:44 (NKJV) But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you...

Love is from God. Hatred and bitterness come from the enemy.

What will we choose to do? It's our choice.

Let it be love.

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We are His workmanship.

God created us. And He did so with a purpose for each and every one of us.

We're not here just to wander through time and leave here at the end of our lives with no legacy.

We have been placed here, ordained by God, to walk out His will for us on the earth. So what is His will for us?

That we would walk in the good works that he has prepared for us beforehand.

Once we understand our fallen condition and recognize our need for a Savior and act on that need by accepting the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross, we are now in Christ Jesus, as the verse above mentions.

It is then that we begin our journey, walking on the path that God prepared for us. It is then that we begin showing the world who God is through our good works, letting God's love shine through us and onto those around us.

So remember. We are His workmanship and were created with a purpose. Let's walk in that purpose.

Matthew 11:29 (NKJV) Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Are you tired? Is life and all of its battles wearing you out? Are you longing for rest?

Jesus is calling you today.

We can try with all of our might to escape or fix the things that are wearing us down. But most times all we do is tire ourselves out even more.

If you want true rest, give your cares and burdens to Him. Let Him take them from you and hold you in His arms and show you true rest and true peace.

It's time to lay down the yoke and burdens of this world and take on the yoke of Jesus.

There is no peace in this world like the peace He gives us.

So today, stop struggling and go to Him. Lay it all down.

(Psalm 119:135 NKJV) Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes.
God's statutes are what we want to walk in. A statute is a written rule or regulation.
His Word is our statute. The things that He put in the Bible are that which we must follow.
Sometimes we will get it right and other times we will mess up and miss it completely. But the thing that is most important is that we keep trying to get it right, and no matter how many times it takes, repent and try again.
God will work with us and help us to get it right. He's patient, loving and He knows us better than we know ourselves.
In doing things His way, we have to take one day at a time so it doesn't get overwhelming. He is gentle and loves us very much

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The world and everything in it can sure make us tired.
There is so much that pulls on us. Things can play tug-of-war with our minds. And people can really leave scars on our hearts.
Before we know it, we feel burdened and completely worn out.
I'm here to tell you today that Jesus came here for you. Jesus walked this earth, God with us, for each and every person reading this.
He left heaven for 33 years and took on human form, to show His love for us, and to set us free from sin, sickness, worry, disease, bondage, demonic oppression and so much more.
Come to Him. Lay your burdens at His feet. Leave them there. Let Him take them from you. Don't ever pick them up again.
And let Him teach you how to rest. It's a rest like nothing you have ever known before.
He's extending His hand and offering this to you. Reach out and take it.

Hebrews 2:18 (NKJV) For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Temptation is something that we all deal with, each and every day, in one way or another.

There is not a human being alive, or has ever lived, who was not tempted. It's part of life.

But here's the thing. Being tempted isn't a sin.

It's how we deal with temptation that reveals what's inside of us. Whether we give in to it or walk away will show our true colors, both to others and to ourselves.

So how do we overcome temptation and make the right choice when satan is knocking at our heart's door? What's the secret formula for defeating temptation, instead of temptation defeating us?

We make a conscious choice to walk away. Sounds pretty straight forward, doesn't it?

James 4:7 (NKJV) Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

See? We have to grow a backbone and learn to walk away from the things that tempt us. Yes, sometimes it can be pretty difficult to convince our flesh to walk away, but the more we resist, the easier it becomes.

And understand that not a single one of us goes through temptation that's unique. There is nothing new, even in these days of modern technology, internet, HD video, or otherwise. It's the same old sin wrapped in shiny new packages!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So let's not fall prey to the enemy's sorry schemes. Let's stand strong in God's power and might and learn to recognize these tactics for what they are. And then let's walk away and thank God for the strength to do so.

James 4:6-7 (NKJV) 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Pride and humility. They are two exact opposites. And a large segment of the church seems to have gotten caught up on the wrong side of the fence during the past few decades.
We know this because we have seen it, and the fruits of it, in our own lives. God has shown it to us and He has been working diligently, skillfully removing it with the precision of a surgeon.
Pride can creep in ever so subtly. It can come in disguised as a million different things that look so good on the surface. But in the end, pride will destroy us, slowly, a little tiny bit at a time, until we are devastated and left empty-handed.
Pride is being propagated throughout the body of Christ in many ways, by many different teachings. The "Prosperity Gospel" is one of the biggest culprits, but there are others too. And as followers of Christ unknowingly become followers of "other gospels", pride can creep in and sweep us away.
We implore you today to ask God to show you where you may have become prideful. Let Him show you where pride has crept in. And then let Him do what needs to be done to remove it from your life.
Do it now, because the longer you wait, the harder and more painful it will be to root out and get rid of.
God is the ultimate surgeon. He knows how to remove what isn't good for us and then heal us afterward.

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Be strong and of good courage!
The challenges that you're facing right now will not be your demise. They will not bring you down and they will not defeat you!
Do not be afraid. God is by your side and on your side.
When you begin to have doubts, know this:
Romans 8:31 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Stand strong in His might, not on your own strength. It is God that brings victory and it usually comes in ways and at times that we would never have expected it to happen.
So be strong and courageous.

(1 Chronicles 16:11 NKJV) Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
Are we needing an answer to our problems today? Are we needing someone to comfort us? Are we feeling alone and need a good friend, someone we can talk to and share everything with? Do we need someone we can trust?
Seek the Lord today and He will be there. He will have an answer for us. His arms are always wide open, He will hold us tight and comfort us!
(Psalm 46:1 NKJV) God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.
This is our prayer; that the word of the Lord will run swiftly and be glorified across the whole earth!
As we approach the new year, please be in agreement with us, that God's word will continue to go forth in power and reach those who need to hear it, in His timing and by His spirit.
During this past year we have been under attack on a personal level as well as on the ministry level, from many different angles.
We refuse to back down. We recognize it for what it really is and we are pushing back, persistent in the calling that God has placed on us to bring His word to the nations through the means that He has enabled us to move in.
So please continue to stand with us and share the words that we send out each day, passing them along to friends, family and anyone you know who might enjoy them or need to hear them.
2014 is a year of promise... God's promise to each and every one of us for continued new life in Him, as we press into Him and follow His leading by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Rest in his love and his mercy and trust Him for everything you need.

(Luke 6:41 NKJV) "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye?
This happens more than we know and not just with unsaved people, but with people that are saved and should know better.
Let's take a good look at ourselves today and reevaluate ourselves. Are we one of these people that can find fault in someone else's life, but when it comes to someone trying to tell us what we do wrong we argue with them, put them down and disconnect ourselves from them?
Are we in denial, thinking we are these perfect little angels and can do NO wrong?
None of us are perfect. So with that in mind, know that there are times when we will have to help someone see some things that they may need to change. There also may be times when someone may have to show us that we have some things to adjust as well.
Always remember that it's important to hear what people are saying to us. If we are not sure what they are saying is truth, take time to ask God. He will show us.
But don't just discard it because we don't like what we hear from someone, or think they are being hurtful or mean, etc. Sometimes truth will hurt, but, it's the truth that will make us free.
How will we ever grow if we are always finding fault with others and correcting them, but we never let others help us?

(Luke 1:34-35 NKJV) Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" {35} And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
These verses still blow my mind to this day; the fact that Mary had a child, without being with a man. Her child was conceived by the Holy Spirit! What an amazing thing! There is so much in these verses.
You know, we hear about this and read about it and at times, because we have heard it over and over again, it seems so nonchalant to us. Do we understand what really happened here?
God in Heaven birthed His Son, for us, through a woman that was a virgin. The woman had a baby without ever having sexual intercourse with a man. Wow!
This woman was pregnant and carried a child, God's child! This is a miracle. Jesus Christ was born to a virgin. The birth of Christ is simply Amazing!!
Our God is Mighty, He is Powerful and He is with us! He came to us in a way like no other!!
He is our Lord, "Special" and worthy to be praised! Hallelujah!!

(Galatians 5:24-25 NKJV) And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. {25} If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let's take a look at what God's word tells us to do with the flesh; He says to crucify it, meaning put to death or destroy the power of it.
God tells us what the flesh is all about here: (Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV) Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, {20} idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, {21} envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.
This is what we operate in if we don't take charge of the flesh. Do we ever wonder why we keep making the same mistakes over and over? Do we wonder why we say and do the same things that got us into trouble last time, after we told ourselves we would never do it or act that way again?
We apologize; we say we are sorry, but not long after that we are in the same boat, doing it again. It's one thing to make mistakes; we all do. No one's perfect, but we are talking about making the SAME mistakes repeatedly.
In order to stop this, we have to take steps towards crucifying our flesh. Like anything we have to change, it maybe uncomfortable at first. But if we are sincere in wanting to do what is right, we will adjust.
What may seem to be uncomfortable or even painful at first, will soon become pleasant as we see the fruit of it. And we may find ourselves thinking, wow, why didn't I do this earlier in life?
God can and will give us the strength to go through it. We just have to be the ones to make the decision and take the first step and say "yes this is what I want"!
Crucify the flesh and walk in the Spirit today.

(Luke 6:45 NKJV) "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
If we listen to ourselves (what we say) and watch what we do, we will learn a lot about ourselves. We can discern simply by the language that is used and the deeds that are done. It's not hard; we just have to pay attention.
Whatever any of us does comes from the abundance of our hearts. If we really want to know about ourselves we just need to watch what we do and listen to what we say.
If there is a lot of negative stuff... mean, nasty, ungrateful things, etc., that we are saying or thinking, we do not want to ignore this behavior in us. Instead, we want to spend time praying and asking God to help us, so we can get to the root of it.
We're going to find that, just because we ask God into our hearts and we are now born again or Christians, it doesn't make us perfect. We can not ignore our behavior.
In fact, it should cause us to take a deeper look at ourselves; our actions, words and thoughts, and make us want to work on making the necessary changes on a daily basis, in order to live a life that's pleasing to God.
Our goal as a Christian or a child of God is to grow and constantly be moving forward with Christ... so that our fruit will be good! (Luke 6:43 NKJV) "For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
It's all in our heart. What is our hearts saying today?

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Salvation is given to us as a free gift, through God's grace.
This grace is also something that we cannot earn or work for, no matter how hard we might try.
I love the fact that God puts every, single one of us on a level playing field, by eliminating "the favor factor". He doesn't view what you've done as worse than what I've done or what I've done as worse than what you've done!
We are equal in God's eyes. Period.
Some of us struggle with this, trying so hard to earn God's grace and favor. But we need to realize that everything we need with regard to God's grace was already paid for on the cross.
It doesn't matter if you're a new Christian or if you've been saved for most of your life, or even if you're searching for God and don't know anything about Him, God's grace is freely given to each of us.
So stop struggling, trying to work hard to earn what God has already freely given. All the hard work in the world won't get more grace for you.
Dropping our pride and kneeling at the feet of God in complete humility, repentance and reverence is what He truly wants from us.

Mark 10:45 NKJV) "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
This Man, the Son of the most High God, Jesus Christ, came to this earth to serve. All that He did was for each one of us personally. Serving and giving of His life for us was done out of the compassion that He had for us. The love that He walked in was "perfect love".
When we love like He loves, we won't look at others as we used to. Our love will be for all humanity, not just those in our church, those in our family, those with the same nationality, or same denomination, etc.
It will be easy to help someone even if they mistreat us, hurt us or slander us. Our enemies won't even seem like an enemy to us but, instead, as an opportunity to be able to pray and watch God move in their lives.
Jesus Christ gave His life as a ransom for all. We are to follow His example and let His love shine through us today, to all man kind.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
So many times we hear this scripture quoted when someone is teaching about the fact that we have to have faith in order to please God. Today, though, let's take a look at the last few words of this verse: "those who diligently seek Him".
We can have faith. We can know that He is God. We can understand that He created everything we see.
But who does He reward? Those who diligently seek Him!
You see, we can have all of those other attributes. We can have a good knowledge of so many Biblical things. But if we don't diligently seek God, yearning to know Him more intimately on a daily basis, we cannot please Him and we will not be rewarded.
God wants our all. He wants our heart... 100% of it. So if we truly want to be who He wants us to be, we need to do everything we can to build our relationship with Him.
This doesn't mean we need to be more religious, spend more time in church, quote more scriptures or invite more people to Bible study. This means that we need to "press into Him" and seek Him with our whole heart.
Then we will know Him better and then we will be pleasing Him and then we will be rewarded!
Push all distractions aside and seek Him. It's worth every bit of effort that it takes.

Psalm 16:8 (NKJV) I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Have we set God before us? Is he at our right hand?
Do you know that if we put God first, we cannot be moved?
If we have God as our first priority, there is nothing that can shake us and nothing that can move us from where we are supposed to be.
God rules and reigns over all things and if we abide in Him, there is no trial, no temptation and no storm that can move us or pull us down.
Put God first in your life, today, right now! He will give you shelter from the storms and solutions to your problems.
He is God and He is good.

Proverbs 16:7 (NKJV) When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
There are many things that we can use to judge our walk with God. Some of them may be more difficult to discern than others.
But there is one thing for sure. If we are in constant turmoil with everyone around us, we might need to check our walk with our Father and see where we're going wrong.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace, so if we're following Him and His ways, peace should be a big part of our lives.
Does peace reign in your life?

verbs 15:16 (NKJV) Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble.
Many people spend years of their lives chasing wealth. Sadly, a large percentage of those people never find it. When this happens, it can make some people quite miserable.
For other people, they choose to be content with what they have and not constantly longing after what they don't have. These people are usually quite happy.
There is nothing wrong with wealth, but making the pursuit of it your primary focus can cause you to become unhappy and discontent.
Many times, people with great wealth also have great trouble. There's just something about having a lot of money that seems to invite it, especially when people don't understand how to handle that money.
So if you haven't been blessed with abundant finances, don't fall for the temptation to make gaining great wealth your primary focus in life.
We need to learn to be content with what we have before we pursue anything more. Once we learn to be content, then we are on our way to being ready for more.

(Psalm 98:1 NKJV) Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
Sing to the Lord a NEW song!
How do we make a new song to the Lord? Has God done things in our lives that we can testify about? Put a melody to your victory or your testimony and create a new song to Him!
Oh how He loves to hear us. Don't be afraid, feeling like we can't sing good. Do it for Him and let Him hear our new song today!!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NKJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
The verses above have a very broad implication, especially with regard to end times teachings.
Today, though, we're going to look at them on more of a personal level. We're going to take a look at how they can apply to each and every one of us, either directly, because of behavior in our own lives, or indirectly, due to someone that we know who may be in this boat.
So what does it mean to "heap up teachers for themselves"?
Basically, it means that if we're having troubles or struggles in our life, instead of seeking out sound counsel, we will look for people who will tell us what we want to hear, either to make us feel better about ourselves, or to try to justify something that we're doing that we know deep down is wrong.
This doesn't always mean that we're doing something immoral or unethical. It just means that we've strayed from the path that God has set before us and we're doing what we need to do to avoid getting back on that path.
Now, if this applies to us, we simply need to own up to it and let God show us where we need to be corrected. But if it's someone else that we know, let's be careful not to judge them or throw stones at them!
So let's not heap up teachers for ourselves. Instead, let's incline our ear toward God and let Him speak to us and teach us!

Psalm 71:14 NKJV) But I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.
Never give up. God is faithful!
If you are going through a tough time today and you feel alone, and there is nothing and no one that can help you through, God can and He will!
It's in times like these that we have to reach deep inside of ourselves and begin to praise Him even more. This is like a breaking point, when we can begin to praise God more and more even though we are in a very hard trial and everything is crashing down around us.
This shows God how much we trust Him!
Don't give up on God; praise Him and continue to have hope in Him.
He will come through for you!! Amen.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV) He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
He made everything beautiful in its time. In its time.
Notice that the scripture doesn't say that He makes everything beautiful in our time? Oh how we wish sometimes that it was the opposite. But I'm sure we would all get ourselves in massive trouble if everything went the way we want it, when we want it.
So many times we hear people talk and teach about how God will make us wait until He's good and ready to do something, or give us something.
But in reality, it's not so much about making us wait, as it is waiting until everything is in its place.
Timing is everything.
God has set an order to everything and it's not up to us to try to change that order or alter something to make things happen the way we want them to happen.
And when push comes to shove, the timing that God has set in place for everything is so much better than ours.
So if you're waiting for something today, whether it's a breakthrough or anything else, remember that He makes everything beautiful... in its time.

(Psalm 25:5 NKJV) Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
God does not want us to make mistakes, or doubt Him in any way. He is a God who wants to lead us and help us in every way possible. There have been many times when I thought I was waiting on God, but it turned out He was waiting on ME.
We are all being taught in different areas; some of us are being taught patience, some may be being taught discipline, and others could be learning how to hear or know when God is speaking, etc.
We are all at different levels and in different places in our walk with God. But as long as we remain teachable, we are on the right page.
God will teach us His way as we wait on Him. Amen!

(2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

We want to let you know today that if you have received Christ and have been washed by His blood, you are a NEW creation!!

You are not just the old creation with a little soap and water applied. You are blood-washed and brand new.

Jesus did not die to help us cover our sins or to put a band-aid on them. He died to wash them away and remove them from our past.

If you are in Christ, you are brand new! Your past has been forgiven and you have been given a new future as a child of God... the Most High King!!

So no matter what you are going through today, know that you cannot be defeated. You cannot be pushed backward. You are meant to move FORWARD.

Lift your head up and fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. For He and only He is able to cleanse us from our past.

If the devil is waving your past in your face, trying to condemn you and make you feel guilty, remind him that Jesus paid the price for your sins and they are forever washed away.

Walk in victory today! Amen.

(1 Corinthians 10:23 NKJV) All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.

As followers of Christ, we lived under grace. This means that our sins are forgiven as soon as we ask God to do so and then we repent.

To repent means to turn away from and not go back to something. Our sins should not become a habitual, often-repeated routine that we fall into.

Because of God's grace and mercy, we have been given the freedom to choose what we do and what we don't do. He has given us a free will.

We need to remember that as believers we have an awesome responsible to try to please God in all we do. It is His desire that we live righteous, holy lives, shining His light into the darkness around us.

None of us will ever be perfect at this, but each of us has been given the Spirit of God living within us to help us discern things and keep our feet on the path He has set before us.

God has entrusted His work to us, His people. Let's be sure we're doing it to the best of our ability, guided by The Holy Spirit.

Peter 5:6-7 NKJV) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, {7} casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Humility: the quality or state of not thinking you are better than other people.

Humility is such an important character trait, but it can be so hard to achieve in so many ways.

It seems that just when we think we're being humble, God comes along and shows us how prideful we are.

Most of us would never think or admit that we are anything less than humble, but pride can creep into our lives in so many ways.

Want to know the best way to become humble? Serve others. Serve others who are in need. Spend time helping someone in trouble. Spend time doing things for people who can't do for themselves.

Go to "the least of these" and be their hands and feet. When someone seems like they might be less than you in any way at all, put yourself in their shoes. Take the time to learn how they got to where they are. Sometimes hearing other people's trials and struggles is very humbling.

There is never a lack of needs. Find someone in need and help tend to them. Get God on it. Let Him direct you to those He wants you to help. Sometimes it's the ones who don't ask for help who need it the most .

(Matthew 25:35-40 NKJV) "{35} 'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; {36} 'I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'

(Acts 20:35 NKJV) "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."

I caught onto this early in my childhood life. I loved the way it made me feel to give!

I remember as a child, always wanting to give something to someone. Of course, as children we don't have a job to make money so we would have to be creative. I would pick flowers from our yard and make little bouquets.

I remember at times taking one of my toys and wrapping it up and giving it away.

One time when I was in high school my best friend loved this one shirt I had, so one day I told her she could have it. The look on her face and the sound in her voice just left me feeling so happy inside.

Now that I am older, I enjoy giving people things even more than receiving. Don't get me wrong, I love to get little surprises too! But there is something about giving that drives me to keep on doing it.

I've learned we don't have to have a lot of money to give. There are so many other ways.

There are many times when we receive a reply to the Bible Verse of The Day, or letters in the mail that bless us so much just from the wonderful testimonies or things that you share with us. Often times it is just what we needed to help us get through our day!

Giving is a beautiful thing and oh so fulfilling! We should never stop giving. No matter how strapped we are, there is always something we can give.

(Luke 6:47-48 NKJV) "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: {48} "He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock ".

What are we building on? What is our foundation?

If we have been building our foundation on anything other than Jesus Christ, the solid rock, we need to make some changes.

Jesus is the rock upon which we need to stand. If we are placing our hope and trust in anything or anyone else, our foundations will soon crumble.

Jesus gives us hope when everything looks hopeless. He gives us strength when we are weak. He gives us peace when it feels like the world is crashing down around us.

Again, what foundation are you building on? Make sure you're building on The Rock... Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sharing these encouraging thoughts on how to live in this world.
I find this verse from I Samuel to follow your thoughts of God's care for us.
I Samuel 2:30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

(1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV) For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

Jesus paid a price for us; it cost Him everything, just so we could become His. It seems like living in these days, everything is allowed... there is so much immorality all around and it is looked upon so lightly.

What can we do about this? Is there anything we can do to help stop the desensitizing of this world?

The first and foremost thing to do is to read and stay close to God on a personal level. Seek Him for answers and stability on a day to day basis.

The Second thing to do is pray. God has given us authority through Jesus Christ to trample on snakes and scorpions, (Luke 10:19 NKJV). So don't hold back. We do this through prayer, rebuking the enemy and His schemes.

The third thing is to trust in God for His victory all around this world, even when things don't look so victorious. In our own homes, in our state, towns and villages. Everywhere that there is breath, believe that He rules and reigns forever!

Give Him glory today, for He is good!

(Colossians 3:2 NKJV) Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Where are our minds? What do we set them on?
There are a couple of different angles that this could be taught from, but today I we'd like to focus on this aspect;
What occupies our thoughts? Are we spending all of our waking moments wrapped up in earthly matters, or are we giving God the time that He deserves?
As we touched on last week, we can start our day by getting caught up in the cares of our day, or we can wake up and give God our attention before we get busy, setting things in order as soon as we wake up.
But what about after we're up and about? Are we pushing God aside for the remainder of our day, are we keeping Him in the forefront of our thoughts and the things that we do?
God is everything. He is our source of life. Without Him we are nothing. But with Him we can do all things.
Let's stop rushing through our days, weeks and years and make an effort to deliberately give God all the time and attention that He is due.
