WTG RED BUGS! You won the water challenge for June! By now, you should have all received a Spark goodie for your efforts!
There won't be the same kind of challenge in July, but keep an eye out for mini-challenges later in the month. In the mean time, it sounds like you've got your own goals and challenges going on to keep you busy?!
I hope that Laura Kate and Amy will continue in their co-sponsor roles. Kudos to them for their support! Membership will remain the same as I won't be recruiting for newbies from the overall team this month.

Good morning everyone! Looks like we're still kicking butt in the water challenge with one day to go!
My great fresh start yesterday fell apart in the evening, but at least I got some exercise in. Today I'll do better!

Hi team. Good evening everyone. I had a GREAT day today. I was within calories and drank all of my water. I'm back on the cardio wagon. I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike followed by 40 minutes on the treadmill. Pedometer is 11030 so far.
Has anyone else noticed all of the changes on SP as of yesterday afternoon?

Exercise - 6/28 40 minutes bicycling 20 minutes Strength Training Think I'm finally back on track again. Today went really good. I'm back to tracking my eating. I didn't have time to exercise this morning, but I plan to jump on the rebounder this evening. Probably won't get to check in the next few days as we're going camping. Have a great weekend! God bless America!!

The last few days I have been digging through my closets, unpacking all my old skinny jeans ( I'm a pack rat lol) I can fit into 2 pairs! I was so excited, running through the house lol I got my son and dog all stirred up. I also tried one of those dance video games-my sister brought it over, they are so much fun! I'm thinking of getting one, they really wear you out lol wow we really are kickin booty on the water challenge lol

Good morning everyone. I'm glad to see that everyone is still going strong! I took most of the last month "off" from losing weight. I still tried to make reasonable choices and exercise when I had time.
The good news is that I managed to maintain my weight loss and am ready to get back on track this week! I've got about 25 pounds to go, so my goal of 135 by the end of September is still within reach.

Good morning team. I was below my calorie range yesterday and low on water. I also got involved in family stuff last night and didn't get any exercise in (though it was quality family time). To get back on track, I've already scheduled a walk during around lunch time.

Hi team. Hope you all had a good weekend. My weekend was pretty good. Played 18 holes of golf on Saturday in a charity event (first time I've made the time to play in 3 years). It was very hot and tiring, but according to SP I burned a lot of calories. I also drank a ton of water.
Calories - in ranges both days Water - way over on Saturday, a little low on Sunday Cardio - 300 min Saturday golf (10,056 steps) 55 min Sunday walking (10,008 steps)

I have had a very active day today. Just seem to have energy to burn so went out and burnt it.
Exercise for past couple days: June 26 - 82 minutes on exercise bike and 35 minutes cycling with my husband and daughter
June 27 - 86 minutes on exercise bike, 65 minutes cycling with my friend, 36 minutes on treadmill and a few strength exercises in gym.
I am away for a few days so am hoping to make use of the hotel gym.

Big day today! Very high karate master in from out of town. Boy are we going to SWEAT! Ate a high protein lunch to prepare, that is what gets me through. I love him, though, he is in his 70's and says " The best self defense is being this age and in good health." May it also be so for me. Post my times for today later. Ok, so, 200 min karate. Wring out the t-shirt, wring out the gi! My sweet husband brought me home to shower, then to dinner for Japanese seafood udon ( noodle soup ). I am trying to find a muscle group that is not sore... off to bed!
6/28 45 min karate... I must be nuts! No, really, I took it a bit gently; I have found it helps me to keep moving.

Exercise 6/25 - 40 minutes bicycling 20 minutes Strength training I've been struggling with evening eating. I do great all day, but the evenings seem to be really tough. I'm determined tonight to drink my hot green tea and eat some Light popcorn as my snack. Hopefully that will do the trick.

TGIF team. Just checking with yesterday's results.
I was on vacation yesterday. I'm sure I was over on calories, under on water and I didn't get any cardio in (we left before 7 am and got back after midnight). I did wear my pedometer and got 5462 steps in.
Such is life. I'm back on the program today, but really tempted to eat some of the bounty of junk food here at work today.

Hi Everyone,
Feeling really blue the past couple of days. Been working out hard but not doing so well with the eating. Am feeling like I am not losing at all but too scared to get on the scale and find out. Trying to pull myself out of this funk.
Here is my cardio for the past few days: June 21 - 76 minutes exercise bike June 22 - 80 minutes exercise bike June 23 - 62 minutes exercise bike June 24 - 65 minutes treadmill and 34 minutes walking
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Good morning. Looks like everyone is doing great on the cardio and water challenges this month. Yesterday I was within calories, but low on water. I did a take a 35 minute walk during lunch, but didn’t get any additional exercise in. Instead we spend the evening in the basement due to severe weather and a power outage. I’m very happy to say that the scale is finally moving for me again. I’m on vacation today (YAY) and I’m a little concerned about the temptations

6/23 - Exercise - 20 minutes Strength Training. Went to town with my friend today. We ate lunch out which is always kind of scary for me. So often I eat way too much. But today I made a plate of salad and got some grilled chicken. Halfway through my meal I felt full. Normally I would have polished off everything anyway. But today, I quit. I felt a little bit guilty leaving all that food to waste, but pretty tickled that it didn't go to "waist."

Whoops, should have started tracking again Monday, but things go soooo busy.
I did cardio monday: elliptical 35 min, Treadmill cooldown 5 mnutes. But I'm skipping my scheduled tonight because my feet just need a break! Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow and will catch up then. Also, yesterday was probably horrible foodwise... but I'm not going to think about it... just get back on track with today.

Good morning team! I hope all is well.
Yesterday I was within calorie range, drank most of my water (I was short of 8 cups), and played soccer with my son for 30 minutes. (MTD cardio - 655 min)
I also got caught up on logging my cups of water consumed in our other other goals, so our total jumped up again.
I'm a little bummed today because I was supposed to be on vacation today visiting my college roomate and family at their cottage. Due to work commitments and forecasts of severe weather, we had to cancel. So I'm at work instead.

Thanks for the check up. Yes, I'm still here and still drinking (water, that is!) I had a chance to accompany hubby on a business trip to Panama City Florida and since we have dear dear friends who have moved there, I took the chance!

It looks like Kknsmom lost her sister-in-law last week and that's probably why we haven't heard from her. Hopefully we will hear from her again when she is ready, but right now maybe we could send some extra support her way.

Updates for Week 3:
Water challenge: We are leading the way by 293 cups of water! Way to go!
In order to meet the goal of 2500 for the month of June, we need to average 8 cups per person per day for the rest of the month. This might be tough, but we are still on track!
Fitness challenge: We have 10229 minutes so far this month, so we should make our goal of 12000 easily. In order to hit 12000, we need to average 17 minutes per day for each participating member.
Way to go Chrisov, Darlingdaisies and Janelle94 for leading the way this week!
Daily Check-in challenge: Pamsprecher1, Chrisov and Darlingdaisies are leading the way. Great job keeping up with the group!
We do have a few absent members this week and month. If you have time, please check in with them and let's make sure that they are ok!

Good morning everyone! I'm back from the wedding. It was so beautiful and everything went very well. The only small thing that went wrong was that the DJ started the toasts at the reception before we got our champagne. So, we toasted the happy couple with water! LOL
Now, I've got to get refocused and start working on these last 25 pounds. I did gain 5 pounds over the weekend, but I suspect it's water weight and bloating from the crazy food I ate. I just need to get some more water this week and get back to tracking food.
It looks like everyone's had a great week here. Thanks to Darlingdaisies for staying on top of the fitness minutes. It can be a bit of work tallying it all!
Pamsprecher1...that Celebrex ad was very annoying over the weekend. Every time I had a few minutes to squeeze in here, it showed up! So, I didn't do much tracking. Hopefully it's gone now??
Darlingdaisies...great job restarting C25K. As a former CC and track runner, I remember how awful shin splints can be! Hang in there, and they will disappear eventually.
Janelle94...it's amazing how days off can get away from us. It's great that you did get some exercise in and are staying focused on getting back on track!
I'll be back with fitness updates here in a bit.

Hi team. Hope everyone is doing well.
As for me, yesterday I was within calories, drank my water and did 45 minutes on the treadmill.
Cardio 6/12: 45 MTD: 395
The good news is that as of this morning I'm slightly down in weight since last time I weighed in (even in light of Father's Day impacts). Now I need to kick it into gear before the Fourth of July.

I'm very disappointed in myself. I had 4 days off and really was planning on getting in lots of exercise time. Unfortunately 2 of the days I only managed to squeeze in a 20 minute walk. But that is ok...I've decided that it was in the past and that I just need to refocus on getting back on track.
Fitness minutes for my missing posting days are:
June 17 - 66 minutes exercise bike June 18 - 20 minute walk June 19 - 20 Minute walk June 20 - 83 minutes exercise bike

45 mins walking & C25K
Kind of disappointed that I didn't get up to my "calories to burn" today after starting back on C25K week 4. I was very glad I was able to start where I left off. Problem is, I run so slow that it doesn't log many calories. Bummer! I'll probably go on a 30 min walk before starting my running tomorrow.
Oh well, I am sure it will be worth it if/when I am able to run a 5k. No matter how slow! lol

Exercise 6/17 - 35 minutes step aerobics. Anyone else having trouble putting in their exercise minutes? The dumb Celebrex ad is in the way!! Have had a good week of staying in my ranges and exercising consistently. Still not seeing the scale budge yet. Bummer!! Also did 20 minutes on the Rebounder

Hey everyone!
Just a quick note on our exercise challenge. Since I'm out of town and left my lists at home, this is just a rough estimate.
It looks like we've got about 7200 fitness minutes in already for the month! That leaves us only needing about 4800 for the second half. Way to go everyone!
Also, we are still leading the way in the water challenge, but OVER 200 CUPS!
Awesome!

Hey team. Hope all is well with you.
I'm back on track with my program. Below my calorie range for yesterday and today. Drank my water both days. Started doing 100 crunches and 100 push ups per day (modified push ups for now).
I bought a set of mini bike pedals which I started to use at my desk at work. On Monday I clocked 175 minutes and today I had another 60. I won't count it as cardio, but it is a good release of energy and it has to burn some calories.
Last night instead of working out I completed my Vision Collage (see one time challenges on the Spark People plan). I now have it on my screen saver and desktop at work (I did an electronic version). Great reminder for my goals.
As for cardio: 6/14 - none 6/15 70 min treadmill June MTD minutes: 490

Sorry I haven't checked in. Feeling like dog meat on a stick. blocked left eustation tube and fighting off sinusitis. Yuck. Anyway, I had no choice, had to teach.
6/14 30 min folk dance with Kinders and First graders 30 min heavy cleaning ( prepping a room for us to teach in all summer) 30 min Karate
6/15 20 min Karate 20 min dancing with my pre school dancers
6/16 AAARRRGH! Flat on my back in bed! First time in years!
6/17 20 min Karate, Sensei and my student kept making me sit down!
6/18 gardening... my poor plants, neglected when I was so ill. 30 min gardening.
6/19 Karate teaching again today...maybe I'll stay upright? Yup I did, for about 45 min active training/teaching. I usually don't count the teaching when I just pace the floor and do the occasional demonstration of technique.

6/14 - Strength training 20 minutes. Going to son's home for lunch and dinner. Could be rough on the diet. Going to try to eat in moderation and make wise choices. Sounds like it might be difficult with what is planned on the menu, but I am determined not to blow it. Think of me today!!

Team – I’m back. Sorry for the meltdown this week. Long story short sleep deprivation combined with a major miscommunication with my husband and mounting stress over my doctor’s appointment on Friday caused me to lose it.
So, no need to provide TMI but long story short after catching up on my sleep and having a couple of conversations with my hubby I’m in a MUCH better place now. I appreciate everyone’s support over the course of this week and I am now back on the program.
I don't plan on weighing in again until next weekend - no need to get depressed on where I am today. I'm sure I'm up a little bit, but my smaller clothes still fit albeit slightly tigher.

Thanks for the good words!
I think I've gotten over myself...
My plan is to turn my frustration into determination... and remember that this is not a sprint.
Well, I think I've out waited the worst of the heat while I cooked ahead for this week and worked a little inside. Now, out to the garden. I'll post my time later.
90 min gardening!

Thanks for all the information on water and coke CHRISOV. I have always hated coke and now I am happy about the fact I never drink it!
I think I have missed the past couple days posting my exercise so here it is:
June 11 - 61 minutes on the exercise bike June 12 - 52 minutes biking riding with my husband. First time we went out this year (yes, finally stopped raining!!). It was great fun and we'll be doing more of that.
Hope everyone is off to a great start this week!!

Gardening and sweating today. 3 hours!
Haven't been on here much lately but have been busy reading posts and trying to stay fruitful to my cause....weight loss, glucose regulation, peace.
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population)
#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
#8.. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop ladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bow and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola..
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7..To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
#8...To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1 the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

6/11- 30 min elliptical, 5 min treadmill cooldown. I'm a bit concerned about my calorie consumption today as I'm going to a cookout, but I'll do my best! Keeping in calories is definitely a lot harder on the weekends when I'm near my kitchen and doing computer work.

ARGGGGGH! May I please be in the group getting support? Drinking my water, eating well, ( my dinner plate is the size of a toddlers plate) and the $@%* scale won't move! So...rather than wine any more... guess I'll double up on my karate...or something.

Pamsprecher1 and Bubblebee21...maybe chatting with our group will help you get through this slump! It's hard when life gets in the way or motivation fails, but try to do some of the small things if you can't do the rest. Try for 10 minutes of exercise or focus on your water. Sometimes achieving those small goals are easier and will help to get you motivated again!

Good morning everyone!
We are still leading the way in the water challenge and are OVER 100 cups ahead!
I'm off to work and then out of town for a funeral, so I'm not sure I'll be back online today. We'll see!
Have a great day, everyone!

Great job on the water challenge...we are still in first place!
Chrisov...good to see you back and keeping up with your plan, despite the busy work schedule.
Pamsprecher1...hang in there. It looks like you're doing all the right things, so the weight loss will come. I usually try to expect a 3 pound or so fluctuation from day to day. For example, I was at 159 today, so if I hit 162 tomorrow I will try very hard not to be disappointed. On the other hand, if it's 163 or 164, then I have to look at changing things up a bit. Don't worry, the weight loss will happen!
Have a great day everyone!
