I made it through Phase 1! The first few days were tough. I completely underestimated my coffee addition. My head hurt, I was exhausted and very grumpy. But I kept it together and after my first week I've lost 5 pounds and 2 inches off both my waist and hips. Yay! Most of the food has been really good and I haven't really been hungry. This week will be tougher with out any chicken or fish and not as many grains but I'm anxious to try some of the new recipes. Thanks for your support Laurie!

Congratulations to both of you, Marie and Laurie!! I agree that it was worth doing and I felt better afterward too. I had issues with the Detox and after having to drink it the Alkaline was a piece of cake. I'm still using some of the recipes especially the salad dressing recipes....yummm!! I'm with you Marie....I don't plan on using the supplements either but I'm happy for you Laurie. Sounds like it was good for you and helping with the Crohn's and Digestion.....woo-hoo! Today I'm on Day #3 of the Shakeology Cleanse.....this is a piece of cake after doing the Ultimate Reset. I'm not cranky doing it this time.....guess a lot of the junk is still out of my system from doing UR.

Good Job Laurie! I'm happy to hear about your results!! I am 4 days post reset myself...down 13.8 pounds from the reset! Wow! I too feel fantastic. I generally have horrible reflux...but did not have one episode the entire time! I plan on continuing a lot of the meals but not the supplements... We will see how I feel without them! I was not fond of the alkalinize but got used to it & by the 2Nd week didn't gag drinking it down...call me sick I actually liked the detox...it was a strange color & texture but didn't have too odd of a taste to me! Congrats on your finish!!

I finished the Reset! emoticon I'm down 9 pounds total! But the best part is that I have crohns and intestinal issues because of it. I feel fantastic! I would certainly recommend this to other people. I have to admit that the 3rd week's meals weren't as good/tasty/fulfilling as the other weeks', so I kind of strayed from the meal plan once in a while. Repeated the sweet potatoes a few times, etc. But all was well. I did order the maintenance set, also, but it hasn't arrived yet. It's not that I'm looking forward to the Alkalenize, emoticon , but since I did have such good results with my digestion, I want to continue to let my insides heal as much as possible.

Has anyone else continued on with the maintenance set? Did you feel it was worth it?

Marie, Roasted Root Medley was today's dinner, day 6, and I didn't get to have it! emoticon We went to our neighbor's graduation party (no, I didn't eat any of the food there!) and saw someone we haven't seen for probably 25 years. We spent more time talking than we probably should have and by the time we got home, it was really too late to do that long of a meal. So I had some quinoa left in the fridge and some veggies and just did the stir fry meal from day 4 again. I LOVE that stir fry! I got a wok last year and never used it, but from here on out it will get used! That's really one of the things I like about the meal plan. There are a number of recipes that I like well enough to incorporate into my regular cooking once this is done. The cucumber and tomato salad is another one I really like. I've always made that type of salad with some sugar in it, but it's not needed with this recipe.

I did have my first snack today. Not because I was necessarily hungry, but I was going to the grad party and didn't want a growling stomach to tempt me to eat something I shouldn't. So I had 1/2 serving of Tropical Shakeology before I left for it. Otherwise, the food portions have been very generous. Either that, or the nutrients in them have satiated me enough that I didn't need anything else. I know a number of people have mentioned that if you give the body what it needs, it doesn't crave the bad stuff.

Yeah, day 3's meal might not make it into the family recipe box. It was really good (can't believe I'm saying that about seaweed!) but I just don't have time normally to do all of that.

I am guilty as well Laurie...I read Cindy's post and didn't respond! It was very interesting & helpful! I'm on Day 9...no significant weight loss & I believe people are jumping on their scales far too often...I was not a fan of the Day 3 meals...my favorite on that week was the roasted root veggie day 6?? 7????
Today I struggled with having soup for breakfast but did it! I do have a question for Cindy and that is...did you cut out the grains in the last week like is suggested? I have 2 classes to teach & 1 fit club to run this week and next so it will be interesting...hope my classes don't suck and run everyone off!!!

Thanks for your detailed post, Cindy! I did read it last week before I started my Reset, even though I didn't have time to comment on it at the time. I know you're done with it now, so I'd like to know how the first week off of it went for you. Especially once you got back into your workouts. I've heard some people who did the Reset in the original test group, gained about 1/2 of the weight back once they went back to their normal eating. But I think that if you go back to your normal eating completely, you've kind of defeated the purpose. I think that at least part of the purpose of this is to get in the habit of making better choices, realizing that there are other sources for those fats, carbs, and proteins, and making us really aware of how foods affect our bodies. So, it would be interesting to know what their habits were once they were done with the 21 days. On the other hand, I know 1 person who lost another 4 pounds in the 2 days that followed ending the Reset because he was able to go back to his regular workouts and continued to follow a similar eating program. So, mileage will vary.

I'm on day 6 now and really feel great. I didn't get any of the headaches or leg aches that some people do. I did have a jaw/ear ache on day 3, however. It seems that the legs aching kind of comes to people who maybe have a weakness there anyway, possibly, so me having an ache near my jaw makes perfect sense. I've been chiropractoring for months with my jaw going out and pulling the muscle that wraps around my skull. It was pretty much gone by day 4, but it was intense enough that I thought and abscessed tooth had developed or something.

The food prep on day 3 was nasty. I was in the kitchen much longer than expected, but then again, I couldn't find any smokey Tempeh strips, so I had to marinate, bake, slice, and then fry them. Plus everything else. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't take the time to make the Nori Gomasio. I did add it to the Nori Rolls, but I didn't feel that it added enough to the overall flavor to make it worth the time and expense to make it. I'm sure if you're a person who loves this type of cuisine, you'd feel that the recipe was missing something without it, but not me. So, toasting the seaweed and the sesame seeds took up quite a bit of my day. PLUS, I was making 9 servings, not 1! My family wanted to try everything I'm eating, plus, we have 3 of us who are actually doing the Reset and so we needed extra for the next day's lunch. Uff Da! But I got it done and actually did really like the Nori Rolls. The Cucumber Salad from day 4's meal plan was better than the one from day 3's if you ask me, but that's a personal preference. LOTS of food! Oh my. I have leftovers all over the fridge. I'm not fixing the planned meal today for lunch, we're just going to eat up whatever is in there. LOVED the stir fried veggies and brown rice or quinoa! Definitely adding that to our family menus after this is done.

I'm so glad I'm doing it. I've lost 3.2 pounds in 6 days. Not staggering, but I feel so good. And, the weight loss results from people doing this program have been sooooo varied. It's really NOT about the weight loss. It's about so much more - habits, cholesterol levels, detoxing the system from all of the environment pollutants and processed foods, etc. It's about so much more than the weight loss, but the weight loss number is a tangible number that we can latch onto and use as a measure stick, so we do it.

Hi Laurie and Marie!! I'm now on Day #11 of the Ultimate Reset and as of Monday I've lost 6 lbs. emoticon The first week of the Cleanse is very challenging from shopping for the food and to cooking all of the healthy meals. I don't feel that the book with the recipes is very user friendly and I'm totally out of my comfort zone with doing all of this cooking. The first week I tried to do everything that they said and was eating dinner at 9:00PM. I have yet to fit in the Alkalinize Drink between lunch and dinner so I gave up trying to do this and drink it before I go to bed. Also, for me there is way too much food to eat and buy. My first shopping trip was expensive and I only bought food for 3 days. Shopping trip #2 for the rest of that week was just as expensive but now I have all of the weird stuff like Seaweed emoticon , Tempeh, Miso Paste, Tahini, Bragg Liquid Aminos emoticon , Coconut Oil, Himalayan Salt and all the spices. The food is really delicious and there are recipes that I will continue to use. Week #2 you get to include the Detox Drink 3X a day.....and it definitely cleans you out. I can't get past the color of it and it's been recommended by the support group to mix it with 12 oz. of water and drink it with a straw....it's still pretty disgusting but it works and I only have 3 more days of drinking it..... emoticon . Since I was stressing myself out so much with last week's cooking, I decided that for Wk #2 that I would only eat 2 meals and 2 snacks. I'm sure I'm screwing things up but I am totally satisfied with this much food.....normally I eat breakfast so late in the morning or early afternoon that I don't eat lunch. I did try eating all 3 meals the first week but it was just too darn much food for me and I have issues with eating on someone elses time table. The main reason that I wanted to do the Ultimate Reset was to get me to eat more fresh food and get away from processed foods. So far this is working for me.....I miss my coffee....not for the caffeine but because I like something hot to drink in the morning and no I don't like tea. After being on this cleanse, when I see all of the fast food advertised on TV it makes me sick. Guess I'd better sign off for now.....let me know if you have any questions. Laurie, thanks for giving me the link to the Ultimate Cleanse. The support group for Phase 2 is great to follow......it seems like everyone is stressing themselves out so much by weighing themselves constantly.....I'm fine with only weighing in once a week. I do miss my workouts tho'.......I walk every morning and am doing Tai Cheng.....you'll find that you don't have the stamina to do the heavy duty workouts. Oh.....before I forget.....my favorite part of the Ultimate Reset, besides the yummy food, is the Bracelet.....I love it (it's my type of bracelet) and I wear it every day and night!!

Marie, she's doing pretty good, actually. I'm sure she'll pop in here and let us know herself. I won't ruin her thunder, I'll just say she had good results after the first week. emoticon Yes, 2 different kinds of seaweed. It looks like one is dry and one is a flat paperlike thing that you use to roll things up in. I know, that wasn't overly descriptive, was it? LOL I really made my local grocer laugh when I asked for it! The meat man told me to look in the local pond, I might find some there. They had a little fun with me!

I'm starting my Reset on May 14th. Figured I'd get through Mother's Day dinner with my parents and family and then I could freely get this going. I've been running through my local grocery store already, seeing what ingredients off of the food list they carry. Regrettably, I think I need to go looking somewhere else for things like seaweed! LOL Where on earth will I find that! (And do I really WANT to is the bigger question!)

Anyone else staring mid May?

The Ultimate Reset is a 21 day Detox program from Beachbody. This thread is for anyone going through their 21 days, no matter what phase they are in, including the maintenance phase, to connect with others who are going through it, too.

Feel free to share your trials and triumphs with us. Ask any questions you may have. Which food items did you like or dislike? Did you have to alter some recipes in some way? How much weight have you lost? We will learn from each others' experiences with this!

Here's to a healthier and detoxified (Is that even a word??? LOL) team!
