My newest non-scale victory was one of endurance. I've had a year from.. emoticon ... you get the idea. Two daughters with back injuries, a neck injury myself, and another daughter in a car accident and still dealing with doctors/tests/therapy from that. Plus more, but that's enough to let you know that I have NOT been able to be consistent with my own training. Every time I'd get up and get going again, another "emergency" would happen. So, this week I did Les Mills Pump Revolution on Tuesday, 3 miles on treadmill on Wednesday, 6 miles on treadmill on Thursday, and Pump Revolution again on Friday! Yeah me! I'm not even going to look at the scale! I'm just celebrating finally getting a few days in a row in and training for endurance by increasing my mileage by so much and not dying! emoticon

Congrats, Lyn! That's awesome. It's not always about the scale. I remember when I did Insanity, I only lost 3 pounds, but dropped a whole pant size (and that was only after one month of it)!

Keep up the good work!

I upped my weights for Les Mills Pump! Only increasing by 2.5 pounds on each side at a time, but it's increasing them, anyway you look at it. I still can't increase my triceps yet, but soon. Really soon. They are my weakest muscle group.

emoticon Good for you! Intentional eating. That's huge. Plus, I think we are all hardwired to "eat the food on your plate because someone in SE Asia, or where ever, would love to have that food." Haven't we all heard it? And it's sitting in the back of the mind, echoing when we sit down to eat. But we can't feel bad about it. When you think about it, it's going to be wasted one way or another. One way puts unneeded calories in your body, and the other way doesn't.

My non-scale victory is that I threw food away halfway through eating it. I got a soft pretzel stick at Wegman's for a snack, since it looked tasty and I had room in my calorie range for the day. I swear I ate two or three bites without even tasting it, which is another issue all together, but once I started tasting it I thought to myself, this really isn't very good. It was eh. So I stopped eating it and threw it in the trash. 2 months ago that wouldn't have happened. I would've continued to eat something that didn't taste all that great, just because I had started eating it. Today I didn't.

My non-scale victory this last week has been my jeans. Three weeks ago I went on a couple of overnight, long drive trips within the same week. My pants were sooo tight I actually wore my spandex running capris while driving because I wasn't about to give in a pull the next size up blue jean out of the closet! LOL Well, I've been buckling down and putting the time in those same blue jeans are LOOSE! Loose in the waist AND in the thighs! The scale has moved too, but not as much as you'd expect considering how loose the jeans are. Happy Dance!

Cindy, I'm such a fan of the Tropical that I have to give you just one more suggestion. Have you tried it with either almond milk or coconut milk? I like it with either of those better than regular milk. I've never tied it with just water, but I wouldn't think it would be very creamy made with just water.

Laurie, I don't like ice in the Shakeology....I've tried that before. I ate the fruit as a snack and the last 2 days I added 1/2 Banana to my morning Shakeology. Unbelievably I'm not liking the Tropical Strawberry. It's too chalky....I've been adding Milk to it and that helps but I'm glad I only have a few days worth left so I can get back to my Chocolate!!

Just an FYI, when I do the cleanse, I make my shakes into smoothies. I use water and lots of ice to help fill me up. Also, when the cleanse says that you can have a piece of fruit during the day as a snack... I take that fruit serving and put it in my smoothie for lunch, normally a banana or strawberries.

How are you liking the Tropical now? I passed a single serving pack off to a chocolate customer of mine and she LOVED it! I have to admit that I am MORE than happy with the taste of it.

And, yes, once you get cleansed of the toxins and junk in your system, your body wants better food. You just seem to crave healthier options! In fact, I've actually been looking into "clean" eating a little. Living in farmland here, we tend to eat pretty clean anyway - gardens, home grown beef in the freezer (no pink slime here!), etc. But I do use my fair share of soups and other commercially processed or canned items in my cooking. So I'm going to try to cut back on the processed stuff where I can and lose some sodium, fillers, etc.

Laurie, I expected to be energized too, instead I was really tired. I must have had a bunch of junk to get out of my system to have headaches most of the time during the cleanse. I lost 4 lbs and the total loss from my 3 waist measurements was 2.5 in. I was happy with the results. I watched a webinar with Steve Edwards and their suggestion was to do the cleanse once every season so I'll be doing it again in June. Hopefully Steve will be out of town again when I do it again then I can be crabby by myself. At least next time I'll know what to expect. This would be a good thing to do when I get back from vacation too.....it'll get me back on track. I was using the Tropical Strawberry Shakeology mixed with water.....that could be the reason for the headaches too. I have to say that I've been eating healthy every day since the cleanse ended.

Oh, yes, I know how absolutely fabulous that salad tastes! emoticon And good job sticking to your workouts during it. I find it interesting that you had headaches, etc. When I did my cleanse, I actually felt invigorated. It was not what I expected. I had a clarity in my thinking that I hadn't had before. Maybe that's proof that the stuff I had been normally taking in was clogging up my system so much! So, when it was all said and done Cindy, what were your results?

I'm on Day #3 of my 3 Day Shakeology Cleanse!! I must have a lot of junk getting out of my system because I'm tired, cranky and have a headache most of the time. I'm still doing my RevAbs workout....haven't slowed down with it during this time. This cleanse makes me really appreciate the Chicken Salad that you get for dinner each day.....I really savor the flavor and enjoy each bite. Can't wait to see what my results are tomorrow.....I'm not expecting a huge weightloss even tho' that would be nice but I have noticed that my stomach is a lot flatter. I'll grab my success where I can!!

Sometimes you can be doing all the right things, but that scale just doesn't move as fast (or at all!) as we'd like. And it's easy to get discouraged if that happens to you. Hopefully, though, if you're working out, getting enough rest, drinking enough water, and following your nutrition plan, you should be seeing SOME sort of improvement or forward motion in your fitness journey. This is a place to celebrate those successes, even if the scale doesn't acknowledge them! Please share!
