Wow, I was looking for this post the other day and just wasn't seeing it.

I want to start joining as much as possible... though my eating is hard to track 100%.

I can see it is time for me to get started on this again. I need to really get back to basics and do this. I have always found the best way to maintain and lose is to keep close track of everything that goes in and how I burn it.

I am moving my weigh ins to Sunday mornings. Then I am going to make sunday my off day for now. I am having a terrible time with my food so I figure if I allow myself one day to not track then maybe I will be able to control the rest of the time.
I am also going to figure the weekly totals as well as monthly and see where I am at in retrspect. I really need to just buckle down and do it. I do not know why it is so hard this time.

I need to burn alot more calories! No walking to work this week is putting a damper on things as well. Can't wait till it dries out again. I also need to push myself more.

Jules way to go on the 900 calorie burn! You rock!

Hmmm, the RMR calculation on that site is way lower than the BMR calculation, which is more in the range of all my other BMR calcs.

The RMR is 1506, and the BMR is 1596...

I think for now I'll go with the BMR and see how that goes, and switch to the lower number if I need to.

So, for today, it's

1595 + 900 (cal burned) = 2495 (tot calories burned)
2495 - 500 = 1995... WOW That's a lot!

Kerrie - I just googled BMR's. However, the one I like the best is found at www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculato
r/

Ok, I just got my current bmr, and it is 1595.

So, today my info is

1595(BMR) + 532(Cal burned) = 2127.
2127-500 = 1627 (cal goal target for today)

Hmmm, this may be working... 'cause now I want to see where my calories in are falling... LOL.

Good job, Toni!!

Yes, this is really what it's all about. This program is really all set up for us to plan ahead with our meals, shopping lists, exercise, etc. Now I just have to be accountable.

Toni where did you get your RMR? I need to get on board with this thread as accountability is a big one for me. I would be embarrassed to tell you guys what my calories have been like lately-so writing it all down and reporting in would really make me think about it!! And I will be honest-no BLT's with out writing them down (bites, licks, tastes).

This is a great idea, Toni... although it means I will have to get real with my food tracking... emoticon

I may start with baby steps and just do my calorie expenditure for a bit... see how that goes.

It takes a 3500 calorie defficit to lose a pound.
That is an average of 500 calories a day to lose 1 pound a week.

RMR- Resting Metobolic Rate

My RMR at my current height, weight and age -
1603 calories If I calculate in moderate activity level(exercise 3-5 days a week) it brings it up to 2484.

I can either make this easy and use the moderat activity calculation in which I would just list the higher number and subtract my calories in to get my deficite
i.e.
RMR 2484 - Calories in 1782 = 702 calorie defficit.

Or I think I want to be more accurate and use the bare number and calculate the actual calories burned as well. In which case my calculation will be as follows
i.e.
RMR 1603 - Calories in 1782 + Calories burned 330 = 151 defficit (need to exercise)

Starting date - 2/21/2010
Starting weight - 203
Starting BMI - 31.8

Goal weight - 158
Goal BMI - 24.9
Goal date - 10/1/2010
