Just a thought, when we first married we both had accounts then put money in our main account. Each of us had to account for our own spending & put money for our main account.
Also, try having a emergency account if you can. emoticon It may not work for you, but it helped us see where we needed to cut back. Prayers for you both!

Can you go back through bank statements or other records for the past year or two and figure out what you've spent money on in the past? Then you can decide which of those things you want to put more into and which less.

Hey there sparkers. My DH and I have been trying to get out of debt and save money to purchase a house. I've been watching the finances for most of our marriage, and it seems that we do well for a few months, then we have something happen that we need to dip into our savings in order to cover. We're trying to budget, but it seems that we are not doing so well. Anyone have any advice or tips for planning and tracking where your money goes?
