i have found it kind of generic to say 'no spend' because in the end i do. one of the biggest challenges is to keep my food budget down - i try to beat the ceiling $$ amount- and have accomplished maybe one out of every six shopping trips. not good.
i also challenge myself to save on gasoline by clumping my errands together as much as possible, mapping a short route so i don't back track and waste time and fuel, and checking out gas prices to find the best deal. the best deal has to be close - otherwise it isn't.
after cleaning out closets - i realize i would probably never have to buy another article of clothing - ever! the only thing is - not every article fits - there is the trick - and the challenge. it is an emotional journey when i think about it.
pay yourself for the exercise you do - i pay myself $1. if i walk to an hour - treadmill gets me $5. if i do a high intensity, uphill walk for at least 45 minutes. i put that into a special 'fund' - which i have the right to decide where it will go. maybe decorating the house, or a show .
anyway - find what makes you feel excited - and challenge yourself = keep track of your successes - and not so good times - i have a calendar solely for my comments etc.
life's a game - play it!!! BB
