Someone was searching for a Matzo ball soup recipe on the gluten free site and the elana's pantry site has a recipe for how to make gluten free matzo balls...I don't remember who it was or where I saw the post but if anyone else remember this message could you pass it on to them....can't seem to find it now. 1 1/2 cups GF flour mix 1/2 cup tapioca flour 1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons xanthum gum 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 Tablespoons sugar 1/2 (1 stick) butter 1 cup sour cream (I have used plain yogurt which also works well) milk for brushing
Sift flours, soda, baking powder & soda, xanthum gum, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly (or use a food processor). Add the sour cream or yogurt, and mix until blended. form the dough into a round mound in a 7" greased cassarole. Brush with milk. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
Hello ladies and gents. I have been invited to a traditional/non traditional St Patricks day party and need to bring appetizer and beverage. since i have been gf only since thanksgiving, this hasn't happend to me yet as gluten free. So i was wondering if anyone had a good recipe, either for soda bread or whatever that i could make and take? thanks, Deb
