Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Hungry girl posted a recipe remake of the green bean casserole using this onion chip thing. I am looking to see if these are gluten free, cause i was soooo dissappointed when i went to make mine, (diagnosed less than 7 days ago) i haven't gone gluten free just yet, but am trying to revamp what i can a bit at a time to see if i can get anywhere. and i bought the Progresso Creamy mushroom soup, but the onions were coated in bread crumbs. I nearly cried. I am just overwhelmed and sad right now. anyway, i think i am going to make this apple dish tonight to have for breakfast tomorrow on top of cream of rice cereal.

I have some Saigon Cinnamon. I'm gonna try with that instead of the Red Hots. Saigon Cinnamon is hot.

Ingredients:
8 Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
3 tbsp. Red Hots cinnamon-flavored candies
1 tbsp. light whipped butter or light buttery spread (like Brummel & Brown), room temperature
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Place apples and Red Hots in a crock pot.
In a small bowl, combine all other ingredients. Add 2 tbsp. water and mix well. Pour mixture over the contents of the crock pot, and stir to coat.

Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours or on low for 7 - 8 hours, until apples have softened and candy has dissolved.

Stir well and serve!
