I use the carrots and mushrooms version with chicken. its also really good. or one can substitute the pasta for rice and caraway seed for curry to make a whole new dish!

Thanks for sharing...looks tasty! I make a similar dish, adding chopped carrots and mushrooms, a bit of Dijon mustard, and some paprika. I'm going to try your version.

This is easy, quick and cheap.

Ingredients:

1/2 head of white cabbage chopped
1 onion sliced and diced
4 cups of cooked ham diced (you can add more or use less)
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of butter of margarine
1 tbsp of caraway seed (you can use more if you like)
8 oz of dry brown rice pasta

Cook the pasta in drain. In the meantime fry the onions and ham in the olive oil in a large pan. When the onions turn glassy add the cabbage and caraway seed, turn down the head to medium low and put a lid on it. Stir occasionally. After about 5 min remove lid and add the pasta and the butter. Let it brown for 5-10 minutes. Add salt and pepper as desired and your all ready to serve your cabbage fry. Serves 3-4
