While I can appreciate the moment of melancholy, I am just bowled over by the strength and fervor of your comeback Julie! These two thumbs couldn't be up any higher! Go YOU! :-)

Thanks Michelle! I am happy with my time (1:54:50). A few minutes slower than last year, but I'll take it. I had a good race, started slow and easy and felt good for the whole thing. I only had one moment of melancholy, but I pushed it aside and gave it my all.
Congrats everyone!

Glad your leg was feeling all right Don! It stinks when you have to race hurtin'...
I found the results - chip time was 31:51 or 10:23 pace. Way better than I expected. I probably could have gone faster too because I had a bit of kick left at the end
I saw Julie's time, too - you rock, woman! I can't do that pace for 1 mile right now and you did it for 13.1

Yanno...? Didn't even look at the clock...lol!
But my leg didn't bother me too much and I passed a few folks I knew and surprised myself that I could do that!
I'll let folks know my time once it's available online.
Great to meet you Michelle! Super to catch up with NIKANN7493 who ran the 5K also!
Unfortunately us 5K folks had to queue up before Julie and Gwen arrived from the HM...at least I *think* that's what happened? I heard from BAM-MA that she would be there for the 5K but didn't spot her. Didn't catch up with ANGARONE either, but if I remember right you were in the HM...?
Blew our collective horn a bit, as some of you may have noticed:
I did better than I expected - 32:11 for the 5K (don't have any official results yet). Was hoping to average 11:00/mile but wasn't sure if I would, so I'm really happy with my time. Hope everyone else had an awesome race!
I met Don (finally!) but didn't see anyone else from SparkPeople - I did see a few co-workers also. I left pretty quickly after I finished b/c my 7yo was ready to leave & my hubby wanted to go shopping for my Mothers Day present

I don't think riding your bike TO the run will be a problem. Getting home you might be a little tired, but you've been running pretty good this week and biking consistently, so you could make it I'm sure.

It's probably not the smartest thing to consider, but I'm thinking of riding my bike down for the run...10 mile bike ride for a "warm up"...? :-) So we'll see how early I can drag myself outta bed!
Have done a 5K each day so far this week, Mon. through Thurs. and will do another today if the weather allows. Tomorrow? Probably around 40-50 miles on the bike...no jogging.

That would be great Don! It is looking like great weather. Hopefully it holds.

I think part of the problem is/was the time differential in starting/ending times for the races. I know when I'm done, I'm beat. I eat and just want to get home and shower. The HM starts at 7:30, so I anticipate finishing my race before you guys even start.
Unfortunately, that make sit very hard to meet up.

Very cool to have you joining the fun on Sunday Julie!
There are others doing the HM also I believe (FRECKS96 (also Julie) and LADYGWEN25 (Gwen)). I just putter along for my 5K jog just to join in.
Does anyone have a suggested on how we might catch up with each other...? It gets so confusing with SO many people around! Last year we more-or-less managed a mini-meet-n-greet and stumbled across each other but a few folks missed out.

I just found SparkPeople - I live in NJ, but my man lives in Binghamton, and I grew up in Windsor - so I am in town every weekend. I am looking forward to the Bridge Run and am impressed with the improved medal. this will be my 6th half marathon (I think) - I have done 3 marathons, and only do halves when I have no other choice. I joined SparkPeople because I have recently gained 15 pounds back after losing 20 2 years ago. I think the weather will be decent for running on Sunday - I hope to get a couple more 6 milers in this week. I am a runner.

All RIGHT Michelle!!
Had hoped to get some jogging in over the weekend, but the weather was too darned fine to pass up on my bike...over 60 miles logged, 43 today through upper Lisle & Willet and back. Just LOVE riding along the valley up there...we are so blessed by some mighty fine nature around us!

I'll be there!
I will not be in my best form as I just haven't pushed myself out there for enough jogging. I'll be pleased if I can jog the 5K without walking. That's my goal...lol!
Hope we can get a bunch of us joining together! Perhaps we can consider a place to catch up either before / after...or just keep an eye out as we did last year.

It sounds like they're really going all out to make improvements on last year's event, which was pretty darn good. Can't wait!!
