Sine I STILL haven't gotten out to attempt cross country skiing yet this winter and we've been totally DUMPED on I think this weekend looks ideal for getting out to Greenwood Park either Sat. or Sun. afternoon.
Please c'mon back and post to this thread which day works best for you if you would like to join in the fun!
I'll call Greenwood later today to confirm that they ARE open...can't imagine they WOULDN'T be...!
This Sunday looks to be the convergence of ideal temps with adequate snow to have a crack at it so I plan to be there at 2 pm. The park is open till 4 pm so that would give us potentially up to a couple hours for skiing.
Don't worry about not knowing how and looking foolish. I'll probably top EVERYBODY in THAT department...lol! But I DO want to keep at it and see if I can get my legs under me.

Technically this next one is "ski-skating" but awesome to behold! www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTYLJ3u84-s
I have been in AWE of the Olympic cross country skiers during the past week!
The rates at Greenwood for ski rentals are $3 an hour plus a trail pass fee of $4 for the day. VERY reasonable. There is a dining area for folks to sit and watch, have conversation, etc. if folks want to accompany who don't want to ski.

I'm going to post this to the Ithaca / Finger Lakes SparkTeam also to see if anyone there would care to join us.
Stay warm and see you THERE! :-)
