Yesterday we walked 2.5 miles. Climbed up and down large rocks etc. It was a beautiful day. Not hot, or cool.

I worked in my yard today. Mowed the grass, blew the driveway and sidewalks clean. One of these days I am going to measure how much I walk while mowing my grass. I bet it could be between 1/4 and 1/2 mile....at least it feels like it. So I am taking a break from doing my walk tonight. My body is stiff after working in the yard, that's alot of work!

I walked yesterday pushing my mom in a wheelchair, but I don't know how far it was...maybe a 1/2 miles.

Today I walked a mile.

I made up my mind that I needed to get back to exercising and eating properly as of yesterdays hamburger and chips and seeing myself in a mirror. Yikes!!!

Glad to hear that Ellen. The battery in my Pedometer bit the dust, and I hadn't recorded last weeks steps yet. That will teach me for being so slow. Guess I will have to estimate. I know I got in about 4500 steps yesterday.

Our car went in for its MOT today so we didn't get to the lake. Walked from the service station down the footpath after dropping the car off, then down the hill into the village and back up the big hill to collect it. 2.5 miles in 50 minutes as we stopped to take photos. Went in the garden and did 230 minutes with some heavy digging and pulling woody weeds up. Lots of birds around. The tame blackbird came down where I had been digging. The squirrel came into the garden. Lots of blue tits, chaffinches, robin, collared doves, wood pidgeons, dunnocks and I heard a garden warbler, but didn't see it. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and I worked in my t-shirt. Did 35 minutes strength training afterwards and now I am babysitting and trying to catch up with spark and emails. Hope you are all having a good week!

What a change in climate. We were 85 degrees today. Not sure how much walking I got in yet, but I did get to the ranch and lunge Buddy. Exercised the Border Collies.

4.5 miles yesterday at the park while doing my raptor research. Half were with some other Sparkers and the other half was with a fellow researcher I ran into on the trail. I went with him onto his trail, so he could show me what he has found. I pointed out what I had found and we both knew about a tree that has an owl, but we aren't sure what kind. We haven't seen it yet, we've just heard about it. Need to go at dusk sometime to see if it is out.

Good start. You should walk to the store as much as possible, if the weather is decent. We have had rain/snow off and on, so I haven't been able to go to the ranch. That is where I get in a lot of walking, and exercise. It shows in my numbers hehe...And we are expecting more tomorrow. Going to dance to some tunes tonight for cardio!

When I got up this morning, I could feel that my back and sides got a workout yesterday. I am sore. I can tell I haven't exercised my core in some time. Tells me I need to get back to work!!

Today I walked to the little store down the street from me instead of hopping in the car. It is only a quarter mile, so I got a half mile in so far. It is a decent day today, so why not take advantage of it! Tomorrow I am hoping to get to the park to do my raptor research, which should give me over 2 miles of walking. It will be slow and steady since I will be looking up. I just hope it isn't raining as they are calling for it in the afternoon, so I hope it does wait until then.

I spent about 3 hours outside raking my yard, bagging leaves and lots of dog doo! What fun!!
I sure can feel it in my shoulders and neck now. I took a hot shower afterwards because I could already feel soreness, besides I was freezing. It was cold, but not too cold. I think I was freezing, because I was cooling down.

Sorry I have not posted much this week, but we have been babysitting because Tiana has been ill with a virus. She was a bit better today. So we went to the beach and I did a little bit of running while Adrian looked after her. I walked/ran 1.5 miles. Did 40 minutes aerobics, some yoga stretches and wii bowling. 210 minutes altogether. Did 210 yesterday including strength training.

High winds here again today, and tomorrow. The thick clouds are hanging over the hills. When ever you see that, you know it is going to be windy.

It was a little bit warmer today, but still windy. We went for a hike up and down hills. walked 4 miles. Did some yoga and danced 50 minutes and played Wii bowling. ST 20 minutes. 240 minutes altogether.

We didn't get it! But its icy cold with a heavy wind. Did 130 minutes in the garden today, but got so cold I had to give up. Walked/ran 1.33 miles and did some yoga and Wii bowling.

Seems the rain won't leave us alone, and here we live so many miles away from each other. Today was sunny again, and wasn't cool. I got away with a sweat shirt jacket at the ranch. There was a slight breeze. Still a bit of snow at the top of the hills there.
Yesterday I only got in 80 mins. of exercise, but I did walk 1 1/2 miles, so felt pleased with that. Today I walked 2 1/2, and got in 175 mins. of exercise. Even did some fast dancing!

It was sunny first thing this morning so we went for a walk round the lake, but this afternoon it started to rain, so no gardening, it was quite cold too. I did 250 minutes including aerobics 40 minutes and strength training 70 minutes.

Our snow petered out for last night. It only got down to 36, so the snow was mixed in with the rain. Never stuck to the ground. We have a chance again tonight. We shall see. Sounds like a fun day with your Granddaughter. I wondered if Yogi was a good movie. Glad you enjoyed it. He and BoBo were one of my favorite cartoons as a kid.

Gosh you are getting your fair share of snow Jeanne! Hope it does not last too long. We had another first today. We went to the cinema with Sue and Tiana to see the film "Yogi Bear". She was a bit restless and noisy, but I think she enjoyed herself. It was quite a good film!
Did 260 minutes today including 1.66 miles 50 minutes strength training, some aerobics, yoga and Wii bowling.

Babysitting today and the sun came out. Walked round the lake with Tiana and her new scooter in tow. it took a long time. We spent 2 hours there, running up and down hills and going back and forth. I tracked 1 mile, but we probably did a lot more than that. Did 235 minutes including walking aerobics yoga and Wii bowling.

My asthma is always bad in the cold weather too Kim! I have to try and remember to use my inhaler before I go out. The cold air really gets to you and so does the wind! Its very hard sometimes! I hope you are not coming down with something!
I only did 165 minutes today as Sue & Tiana came to lunch. It was also raining so we didn't walk. I did dancing and aerobics and some heavy housework before they came.

My asthma hasn't bothered me in a long time as it has since yesterday when it was so cold out. I am still coughing today even though it is warmer. Makes me wonder if I am coming down with bronchitis now. My mom has been sick and was coughing in my car the other day....wonderful! This afternoon I am feeling kind of lousy, but at least I did get the exercise in and I am feeling it in my hips....WooHoo!

Good for you Kim. I wasn't sure if I should use the work lazy when I was writing this, but I had some lazy days, so decided to go ahead and use the word. It does make it hard when you have Asthma. Do have wear a Pedometer? If not I would. Count the steps in when you are at work. And if you lift heavy objects now and then, count that too. It's burning calories. Sometimes, when I am at the computer, I get into You Tube, and listen to fast paced music, and sit dance to the beat of the music.

Thanks for the kick in the butt...I finally got moving!!

I walked 1 mile today or 15 minutes. I think my asthma has kicked in with the temps being so cold yesterday. I am a little short on catching my breath, but it was a great workout with Leslie Sansone. I can feel it already.

I guess I can say I have just been lazy! I've been reading books or playing on the internet instead of exercising. I KNOW it only takes 15 mins to do a mile, so I should just do it if I am not going to do anything else. I have some workout close and my tennis shoes at work and I need to get up and walk in place!!! Maybe I should set up a goal of walking to someplace I want to go to, which I know there is a mapping ability on this site. I did find on the fitness section info on walking.

I have days like that as well, but I do mange to get at least a mile in of walking. I decided if I ever wanted to lose, then I can't be lazy. I'm glad I live in a decent climate area, since I enjoy outdoors so much, but if it is rainy, or to windy, then I dance to music, or find some form of exercise to do. You just have to make up your mind. emoticon

It is below zero this morning and only getting up into the low teens today. Tomorrow is going to be even colder. I had to get my garbage out for pick up and I did bundle up. Even with bundling up I was still coughing because of the cold.

Where do you guys get your motivation to exercise? I have completely lost mine! All I have been doing is sitting around and playing on the internet or reading.

So much for my 90 day workout via dvds. I spent half the week shovelling snow instead, 90 minutes today alone!! I'm tired!! I'm also feeling it in my thighs and shoulders. That snow was heavy!

Hope Tim is feeling better soon. That can be nasty.

Those winds can be bad. My Hubby has to commute, and on his way home tonight there were 5 Semi Trucks that had blown over from the wind. It gets nuts out here too.

The weather got quite nasty last night. My boss called me at 7pm and told me to go home. Thank goodness!! I was about ready to call her. Around 10:45pm the wind really picked up and from I heard on the news it was over 50 mph. Kind of scary seeing the trees really sway back and forth. We didn't get near what they said, but with the wind there is a lot of drifting and some are quite high. My neighbor plowed my driveway this afternoon. I am still at home, but on call for work, as my boss told me not to come in today. I can do it all from here!! Not sure if I will be going in tomorrow, but probably most likely will. Well we'll see!

Hope it doesn't get too bad Kim!
We went to Prinstead tonight to Sue & Tim's to go for a Chinese meal as it's my birthday tomorrow. When we got there Sue & Tim had not got home from work so we went for a quick 10 minute walk round the village. Tim was not feeling well as he had Lipotrophy to remove a kidney stone so he didn't come with us. We walked a mile to the restaurant and a mile back. I did 105 minutes aerobics before we went and some yoga. Total fitness 170 minutes. Too tired to do Wii bowling tonight!

I still haven't gotten my Day 2 in, but blame it on the weather! I got up to shovel snow this morning, so that was my workout. After that I needed to go to the store to get some staples if we can't get out later. The store had no milk, not the 2% I like, but only a few half gallons of 1/2% which is like drinking water if you ask me. I did find 1- 1% half gal.

The second storm is just starting!!

didn't get a walk today as they came to put up our solar panels at last. Did 90 minutes aerobics some yoga and 60 mins Wii bowling totalling 225 minutes

They give you a plan to follow. Tomorrow is working out with the ball. Not sure what it includes or if I will have time to do it tomorrow...have some running to do in the morning. Then the next day is supposed to be "rest"...may have to bump it back a day!

I agree Kim, take it nice and slow. Maybe work out every other day until your muscles get used to it. Use a can of soup, or something about 5 pds. in place of weights.

Okay, here I go!!! Day 1 of Supreme 90 Days workout. The first day is chest and back, which was about a 30 min workout, including warm-up and cool-down. It has several different exercises to do and you repeat them 2 or 3times and then move on to the next set of exercises. So on and so forth.

I don't have weights to use at this time, they are at work, but that is ok. I need to start of slow with this and work my way up. It also uses a exercise ball for some the exercises, which I do have at home.

I have a feeling I am going to feel this later. I could hardly keep up with the warm-up section. It definitely gave you a good warm up. I also couldn't keep up with all the exercises...again have to work up to them. I worked up a good sweat with this dvd!

I'm tired!!

I have those days too Ellen. In fact, today we won't get to the ranch. Lack of exercise there. It's getting ready to rain, and it is windy. We will do a little shopping today, and I have some laundry to do. I'm sure I will find some type of exercise to do.

I don't remember seeing that film Jeanne. I love the old country and western songs though. I have a lot of records which I should try and put on CD.
Well done Kim! Its good to get a bargain, hope you enjoy the exercise!
I did 230 minutes today including 55 minutes dancing. We only walked 1.33 miles today and didn't go for a hike because we are going for our retinopathy check up tomorrow. We will have to park the car at Sue's and walk to the hospital which is about 1 1/2 miles and back, because Adrian is not allowed to drive with the eye drops they put in. We are both diabetic so we go in together, which is rather nice. Then we will stay at Sue's for a couple of hours and play with Tiana. I probably won't get much other exercise.

Glad you liked it Ellen. I love that old song. Did you ever see the movie "City Slckers"? One of the actors sings that song in the movie, and he couldn't carry a tune very well, but I got a big kick out of him singing it.

I bought some workout dvds today. It is a 10 dvd set, called Supreme 90 Day System, that I got for $20 at Bed Bath and Beyond. Actually I got for less because I had a 10% coupon! From what I've heard and seen it is kind of like the other 90 day workout that people do for a lot more money. I'll take the cheaper route if it works the same!! I thought I would start on tomorrow and see how I do. I bought it now I have incentive to do it!!

Thank you for the link Jeanne! That was a fascinating site! I can imagine that they cause quite a problem, some of them are quite big! There is a country & western song called tumbling tumbleweeds, I've got it on an old LP. I have also seen them in some of the old cowboy films, rolling down the corral.
Only walked 1.33 miles today. Did 265 minutes exercise all together including 55 minutes strength training.

We have problems with the Tumble Weeds here Ellen. Although with all the building, there aren't as many Tumble Weeds as there used to be. We do have a couple of open fields near us though, so we get some now and then rolling down the street. A lot of people are allergic to them here. We get some growing in our yard now and then. Years ago, my Hubby said they had a high wind storm, and so many Tumble Weeds blew down the street, and into yards, that it literally blocked one of the neighbors door. They had to go over and dig him out lol.

What is worse Jeanne is that I live in an area surrounded by fields where they grow the wrotten stuff!It plays havoc with my hay fever and I am not the only one. According to our DR half the village has a problem with it. It smells disgusting as it ripens before they harvest it, like rotting cabbages! It looks very pretty though! Comes up everywhere, even on the motorway! Sorry!
I only did 195 minutes today as we were babysitting. Only walked half a mile as it was even colder than yesterday. They say we may get more snow!

Mon. I have a toal of 105 mins.
Tues.................. 90 mins

Looks like tomorrow I will be pulling some weeds in the back. A couple of Mustard plants are growing by the steps that lead to the back of our house. As of right now, Henley the Hero, is afraid to walk up and down them lol. Why are the biggest dogs, always the biggest babies hehe.
