So glad to help! If you haven't used tarragon before, go light. It is very strong. A little really goes a long way.

She may have used an herb like tarragon.

If you do a search for old fashioned smothered chicken you may find what you are looking for.

Paula Deen has a good one on-line.

Hi,

I've been searching for years for a particular recipe for Farmer's Chicken.
My mother used to make it when I was a kid.
It was chichen parts, bone-in, simmered in some kind of white sauce.
I've tried and tried, but I can't get the taste right.
I'm missing a key ingredient.

Any ideas?
