Hi all, I just joined the Eat Clean Team, and wanted to give a little background. First, I tend to sign up for teams, and then stop communicating after a little while. I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time. I am, for the first time in years, very committed to getting healthy!
6 weeks ago, I started the HCG program with a medical doctor. I lost about 40 pounds in 40 days. It was a wonderful jumpstart for me. My top weight was 336 pounds and I'm now at 292. The foods were whole foods, and very limited in types and quantities. I liked this very much. I work a full time job and run a sewing business, so not having to spend a lot of time on planning meals has been ideal.
Since I finished the program, I have acquired a copy of Eat Clean recharged. I have to confess I haven't spent a lot of time reading the book, so for now will continue to eat very much like I did on the HCG program. My daily caloric goal is to stay within 1800 calories. So far I'm sitting under 1000, just because I'm still transitioning from the 500 calorie maximum I had on the HCG program.
The biggest change has been how much better I feel overall. The aches and pains are gone, I'm sleeping better, my mobility is MUCH better, my asthma is much better, so many things are just.... better! I am going to allow myself one day a week to have some food fun.
This all came together when I realized I was punishing myself with weight gain. I made some life realizations that has made it easy to stay on track. I will never take for granted that I wont have problem times, but I truly feel I can continue on this path, simply because I don't need to punish myself anymore.

In answer to Ingrids question about menus there are none on this forum but there is a menu on the sparkpeople meal planner, not sure how clean it is though I usually just add my own foods to the tracker and dont use the menu. If you pick up a copy of clean eating magazine there is always a great menu plan in there along with very tasty and easy recipes. Hope this helps! Lisa
