I got of Clean eating towards the end of 2009 into 2010 bc I felt so restricted. Stress and illness didn't help.
Why I eat is for health/medical issues. I have IC and eating clean allows not only my IBS-C (genetic) to stay dormant but it keeps the IC from flaring. Joint Disease, Arthritis, and High Cholesterol are also something that runs in the family. These are all things that can be aggrivated by processed foods including the arthritis flares.
I also eat clean bc of the energy benefits. I sleep so much better, have a much better quality of sleep, and I power thru my day. I don't get the sugar spikes/crashes and my skin looks 100x better.
I am looking forward to getting back into clean eating even if it is only 80-85% for the first few months.
Because I am tired of being the overweight, unhealthy, exhausted women that I am. I would get frustrated with weight watchers because it allowed me to eat anything and I didnt think it was right. This lifestyle makes perfect sense.

It is the beginning of a new year and I think it is safe to say that nearly all of us will be reaffirming our commitments to either establish or maintain a healthy lifestyle. And the foundation for making those commitments stick is to think about WHY you are doing it - because otherwise it is almost a guarantee that those good intentions will fall by the wayside at the first temptation!
So let's share some of the reasons why we are here, why we have decided that clean eating is a crucial part of our healthy lifestyle!
Some of my reasons:
1) I feel AWESOME when I eat clean - I have tons of energy and almost completely eliminate any cravings for unhealthy food.
2) I want the best quality of life I can get - I don't want to be weighed down and hindered physically and mentally by being overweight, and I want to do everything I can to avoid health issues that are fully preventable by following a healthy lifestyle.
3) I want to set a good example for my kids - although getting my family to eat clean with me is still a work in progress, I believe that just by following a healthy lifestyle myself I am making an impression on my children that will help them to make healthy decisions for themselves as they grow older.
