I started vacation from work this week and it started off with a bang. My Sciatica nerve got inflamed and I needed to stay in bed most of the weekend. Started feeling better finally around Tuesday. Just been doing a little stretching in bed exercises. Yesterday I did a little walking around shopping but when I was in the car (passanger) I did arm and waste dancing to the radio while sitting on the way to shopping. That's about as vigorous as it gets! emoticon

Keep moving forward!
I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!!!

Wow, an hour is a long time to walk with sore hips. I'm lucky if I do 15 or 20 minutes walking at a time. I am anxious to try out a set of nordic poles which I have borrowed, but this week I have been too busy to do much of an exercise workout.
I don't know if my pedometer is working properly - it tells me that I walked 6000 steps today. I know I was moving my hips around dancing to a song on the radio this morning. I did do some walking while I was out today, just did not think it was a whole lot.

An hour of walking! I tried to listen to my gimpy hips and tried to pace myself, but at the same time I didn't let my gimpy hips stop me from going!

Hi there.
I have not been doing a lot of exercise since I am still in recovery stage from hip surgery. But I do get around my house a lot walking and doing little things. Doing the basement stairs is quite a workout for me but it is getting easier every time. I have a pulley exercise that I do with my arms - I think I will do 100 of those today.

Boy ! You guys are doing a lot more exercise than I. I walked to-day with my nordic poles for 15 min. First time since knee replacement. Still waiting for hip replacement. I try to ride a recumbent bike for 15 min. a day and do 100 push/pulls on the upright rower. So little compared to how active I used to be. I've had to readjust my thinking since this arthritis attacked. My mantra is "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." This has helped me to focus on a different lifestyle that is fulfilling in its own right. Good luck everyone !

Did my physiotherapy exercises three times today - doing as I am told! I don't lay around all day either - I try to get up and move a bit every hour. Recovery is going well.

I baked for a potluck this weekend and had to clean out part of the studio and did some yoga. I am sore and beat.

Finally it is time to put a halt to my steadily advancing weight. I have FM and osteoarthritis and chronic pain from neck and back injuries so I think the medications may make it a bit tougher to lose the weight. Time to change the directions!

I met with my fitness trainer and did a 60 minute exercise routine. Building up my strength quite well. She says I am doing an awesome job!

too exhausted to do much today - can I count playing the organ at church as exercise? I guess so because I had to get on and off the bench, use my hands on the keyboards and feet on the pedals, and direct a choir.

Finished all my Christmas shopping ... walked the Mall for 3.5Hrs ... using my pedimeter ... it counted just over 15,000 steps ... paying a bit for it today but at least I steer clear of the mall till post holidays!
I plan on finishing my decorating today around house and then baking tomorrow with my son's beautiful girl friend and my best friend's daughter ... time to being passing the torch to the new generation I guess!
