i just did barn work and some heavy cleaning and for 2 hours putting new handles on the kitchen cabinets and wiping the doors down.

Chipping ice in the horses pasture and at the end of my walk for a total of about 20 minutes. i also brushed the horse and did some other barn work. went shopping in a couple of stores. walked the perimeter of each store. the only problem was the cement floors were hard on my knees.

after being out in the cold for about an hour doing barn work and outside work...i did laundry which requires i have to go between floors from 1st floor to basement. this was about all i could handle as my knees hurt today. had to sit down for about 1/2 hour and put feet up so i could finish supper. emoticon

Last night I did 53 minutes cardio total and 42 minutes of strength training on my core and arms. I also had the pleasure of a 10 minute walk outside before the snow hit again. I'm so glad I took to opportunity.

Today will be my light day and I plan to get 10 minutes cardio in to keep my joints lubricated. Unfortunately it looks like it will have to be at the gym.

Saturday I did a cardio warmup for 33min on the elliptical and Strength training 83 minutes. Yesterday I did 17 min walking, 11 minutes total stretching and 62min on the stationary bike.Today I rest so I'll be doing a short 10 minutes walking.

Well, it is Sunday so I kinda had a day off. I played the organ at church, guess that's some physical activity. Climbed the stairs a few times throughout the day - I did a couple loads of laundry. I will be doing lots of shovelling tomorrow for sure.

PANDABEAR42 Shoveling snow is quite the work out as well as a much needed accomplishment in these northern areas. I will be strength training today after warming up with some cardio. My big fear of taking a day off stems from making it so easy to keep doing that and not getting back to the gym. I guess I have a hard time setting routines.

Yes, that is a good link to use. The moves look easier than they really are. You have to work at it to get it right.
I've done some housework today. It's been a while since I last washed the floors. I just wish I could get down on my hands and knees and do a really good job but unfortunately the body just does not allow me to do so any more. So I do the best I can with what the mop can do.

Please let me know how you like belly dancing PandaBear. It's important to shrug your shoulders up and back before you start - gives you a good posture. And a lot of belly dancing comes from the movement of the knees back and forth.

Just google search belly dancing and see what comes up. I was fortunate to have a friend from my church choir to give me private lessons. It's quite a long time ago now. I went so far as to actually do a group performance on stage. Then I gave up taking any more lessons. My hip got too bad. So now I just do some of the moves for fun at home.
I just changed my profile photo, back to the time when I was in a belly dance gala.

I absolutely love the xRide by Octane. It's a seated elliptical. I used the tread mill to warm up and rode a stationary bike when my arms need a break.

Went for a walk with a buddy. It was quite hot and humid so did not go as far as I would have liked to. My pedometer shows 9600 steps for today though. That's really good for me.

My husband and I entered a 5k ColorWalk Saturday (my hip is really letting me know about it).

Almost 3/4 through the walk he picked me up like a rag doll (hard to believe for the shape we're both in). My lower back popped and spasmed. I thought I was going to need to be carted off; but I walked it off and somehow managed to get through the spasm. The lower back pain has greatly improved (though the hip is still pi$$ed). Yesterday I did 10 squishes (my version of a crunch), and 10 girl push-ups. It's not much, but it's a beginning.

Oh by the way - it took us and hour 6 minutes to do the 5k, and we weren't the last to finish!

Today I walked in the school yard for 30 minutes. Then I went to the gym later in the afternoon and used the stair stepper for 5 minutes and the Elliptical glider for 2 minutes. Tonight I danced with music on the radio for 3 minutes. emoticon

I started vacation from work this week and it started off with a bang. My Sciatica nerve got inflamed and I needed to stay in bed most of the weekend. Started feeling better finally around Tuesday. Just been doing a little stretching in bed exercises. Yesterday I did a little walking around shopping but when I was in the car (passanger) I did arm and waste dancing to the radio while sitting on the way to shopping. That's about as vigorous as it gets! emoticon

Wow, an hour is a long time to walk with sore hips. I'm lucky if I do 15 or 20 minutes walking at a time. I am anxious to try out a set of nordic poles which I have borrowed, but this week I have been too busy to do much of an exercise workout.
I don't know if my pedometer is working properly - it tells me that I walked 6000 steps today. I know I was moving my hips around dancing to a song on the radio this morning. I did do some walking while I was out today, just did not think it was a whole lot.

Hi there.
I have not been doing a lot of exercise since I am still in recovery stage from hip surgery. But I do get around my house a lot walking and doing little things. Doing the basement stairs is quite a workout for me but it is getting easier every time. I have a pulley exercise that I do with my arms - I think I will do 100 of those today.

Boy ! You guys are doing a lot more exercise than I. I walked to-day with my nordic poles for 15 min. First time since knee replacement. Still waiting for hip replacement. I try to ride a recumbent bike for 15 min. a day and do 100 push/pulls on the upright rower. So little compared to how active I used to be. I've had to readjust my thinking since this arthritis attacked. My mantra is "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." This has helped me to focus on a different lifestyle that is fulfilling in its own right. Good luck everyone !

I baked for a potluck this weekend and had to clean out part of the studio and did some yoga. I am sore and beat.

Finally it is time to put a halt to my steadily advancing weight. I have FM and osteoarthritis and chronic pain from neck and back injuries so I think the medications may make it a bit tougher to lose the weight. Time to change the directions!

Finished all my Christmas shopping ... walked the Mall for 3.5Hrs ... using my pedimeter ... it counted just over 15,000 steps ... paying a bit for it today but at least I steer clear of the mall till post holidays!
I plan on finishing my decorating today around house and then baking tomorrow with my son's beautiful girl friend and my best friend's daughter ... time to being passing the torch to the new generation I guess!
