I would love to go walking or hiking. Of course I'm a turtle but I hear we always win races.

I don't like snakes either -- we didn't see any the 2 times I've been there -- but give them a couple more weeks they should be in hiding!

Joplin Park -- South Charleston

Take the Montrose exit of I-64. Turn left onto Montrose and then left again onto Kanawha Turnpike. Stay on Kanawha Turnpike approx 1/2 mile. Joplin Park is on the right. *** Parking is available at the parking lot.

Very open park with a paved walking track.

Little Creek Park in South Charleston is a wonderful place to walk -- lots of trails -- I've walked there recently.

Not to scare anyone -- but I've been told a couple times to really watch for snakes during this time of year at Kanawha State Forest --- even rattlesnakes! I hate snakes so that's a little bit of deterrent to me until cooler weather.

I've walked one trail over at Kanawha State Forest. The one trail follows the creek and over beside the lake/pond. It was pretty nice.

I've also rode my bike on the road over there.
