Today's challenge is to really watch out for refined foods. You know the ones:

*Refined Sugar
*White Flour
*White Rice
*Junk Food w/Partially Hydrogenated oils
*Full sugar drinks (soda, Kool-Aid, sweetened tea, flavored sweet coffee)

Can you go through your day eating healthier versions of your favorite foods? Why not try:

*Whole grains (i.e. whole wheat pasta, steel cut oats, high fiber cereals, etc.)
*Brown Rice
*Splenda or sugar substitutes
*Adding fresh fruit to your cereal instead of sugar
*Adding more spices to your meal instead of unnecessary fat

I have been lucky, I have never had an extreme weight problem. When I decided I needed to lose weight, I had 40 lbs. to get to my goal weight. I have never been on any type of a fad diet. I have followed Weight Watchers some, with my husband.

I have learned that the best way to lose weight is with a healthy eating plan that includes all types of foods, in moderation. Slow and steady is better, and reward yourself from time-to-time for a job well done. emoticon

I used one of the Spark People recipes for corned beef hash to use up Sunday's corned beef.. it was simple, tasty, as low in calories and fat as possible, and a big success at home.

I sat and finished a book this morning. That was nice.

I am planning on making Crock Pot Pumpkin Steel Cut Oats tonight. I put it on to cook overnight and I have breakfast ready in the morning! recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detai

I like this recipe because it is easy and yummy. It makes a big batch and I divide it into single portions and put in a sandwich baggie. Then I put it in the freezer and pull out whenever I want it for breakfast or as a snack.

Isn't it nice to know that others are experiencing the same trials and accomplishments as you are on Spark?

When you post to a board, many folks click on your photo and read your Sparkpage. I am sure you have done it too. You find a picture or post that is interesting and click to learn more about that person.

Your challenge today is to update your Sparkpage. If you haven't started your page, GET TO IT! Folks want to know about you. Already have a Sparkpage going? GREAT! Today you can:
