I too am hoping to get into running this year. I have the new running sneakers all set and really looking forward to seeing if I can do this running thing at all lol. I am going to follow that 5k running guide and hopefully that will help. I lost a tremendous amount of weight when I was younger just by walking about 3 miles everyday. So my hope is that getting back into walking/running will really help my weight loss.
Hey! I am planning on running my first half marathon on march 20th. I am three weeks into my official training. I use the runner's world smart coach feature to schedule my tempos and speedwork. Would love to keep in touch!

I am not a runner, I am just a beginner but I still wanted to respond to your post. Thanks to SP and the Challenge I was involved with last year I started to run on a treadmill and then outside. It was an awesome feeling to be able to run. I am still not anywhere near HM training or anywhere near those goals. My best accomplishment so far is running for 35 min with a 5.5 mph speed.
Even though itís not my goal, but I am here to support your next HM and your training! I hope there are other SP buddies on this Team to share this goal with you.
I really love running, and while I'm no speed demon I've run three half marathons (PR of 2:14:34) and I just crave the fresh air & my shoes hitting the pavement.
I'm planning on running my 4th half in April- is anyone else into running and want to check in with each other for training? Anyone wanting to get into running? I'm not a trainer or anything but I've been running off and on for 3 years.
