I'm a little late to this resolution article. Since I just got back being active on SP I am finding some very interesting things I have been missing. Now here are my resolutions based on that article:

1. To renew a childhood passion: I love this idea and yet I have many things to choose from. My main choice would be to start singing in a choir again. Most likely my church choir. I love to sing and this is something I have thought about over the past year.

2. Organization: I have been working on this since last year. I have made it a goal to organize my books. Since I have over 1,000 and I am in the process of moving sometime in the near future I am trying downsize them and pack up the ones that I have read and don't plan to read again, yet I don't want to get rid of them. My second part of this organization is to organize my finances so that as I go through my divorce I know I will be able to live on my own and still have money left over for some things for me.

3. Learn How to Play an instrument: I used to play the violin and I have been wanting to get back to playing it again. First I would like to have my very own violin but I think that will be years before that happens. I will look for a place to possibly take some lessons but not to soon.

4. Learn a New sport: I play volleyball every year for a few months with an adult league at our rec center. I will continue to play for fun just to stay active. Other things I want to try are Zumba class, Kickboxing.

5. I also vow to eat healthier and to make more healthy choices. I will also learn not to always go back for seconds.

Those are my main resolutions.

What is a plateau, anyway?
When you are not seeing results in weight lost, inches dropped, or improved fitness for 4-6 weeks, you have probably hit a plateau.

I also make (and break) resolutions every year. This year I'm making the most realistic resolutions I can:

Eat healthier
STOP finishing my plates
Exercise more (even if it's just walking the dogs)
And take control of how my time is spent versus having others make plans for me that I just go along with.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year!

I make them and break them a lot. This year I'm keeping them simple. Lose 1lb. per week and do some form of exercise daily. I've got to be able to keep this one.

Rock on with your bad self!!

Wow. It is just about that time isn't it... I think writing them down is good. I still know what mine were for last year, but I don't think I got close on a couple of them. So, I'll give it another go next year.

I normally don't make resolutions anymore, but since I'm actually putting this in print, I vow to:

1. Study the bible and read devotionals every night.
2. Stay sober (that was hard to write).
3. Stop smoking.
4. Exercise 5 days a week.
5. Clean out my office and closets.

I WILL DO THIS. I WILL DO THIS. I WILL DO THIS.

I can do all things through Christ who strenthens me!!!

I liked the list because it was short and because the resolutions weren't overwhelmingly specific. Many moons ago I did play an instrument and would like to start again. It's a resolution I wanted to start before Christmas, but life got in the way.

So, that goes on the list. I'll probably come up with two others, but they will be along the lines of doing more hands on type stuff, like crafts rather than tv or computer time (I'm on the computer too much).

Happy New Year all! emoticon

See my December 24, 2009, blog.

Enjoy the moment: Set aside a few minutes every morning to make a promise to myself that I will find one good thing to be thankful for each and every day. It does not have to be grandiose—even the simple things in life such a friendly smile or a beautiful song can bring us great comfort.

I don't make NEW YEAR's resolutions. But I like the suggestion of learning to play a (certain) instrument. I have thought about it in the past, but am unable to do so for reasons I won't get into here.

The other suggestionI like is the cleaning house one, but in my case in involves unpacking! 3 years and I still have boxes stacked all over.

But these are not NEW YEAR's resolutions, just things to consider and possible everyday ordinary resolutions............ (lol)

SP has an article titled "7 Rewarding Resolutions to Make this Year." Normally, I don't like resolution articles because they seem so hokey. However, several on this list appealed to me and actually fit with what I'm hoping to do in the New Year. And, none involved food or diet.

So what do you think of their suggestions? Any of these in line with what you were thinking of for resolutions? Do you make resolutions?

I've read that you should keep the number of resolutions down so they can actually be met. I think the number was around 3 or 4, so don't plan on making all 10. emoticon
