LOL. I can see how Oreo cookies for breakfast would go over well with a 5 year old. Some days a little something sweet with breakfast is nice.

Yeah, that translates into 15-20 hours a week sitting in the car. By the time I get home at night I'm exhausted. Perhaps one more year of this and then I'm done. I have got to get a job closer to home.

Eggs never made me sick, I just don't like the texture I guess. I get it from my grandma. Who prepared my favorite breakfast. Oreo cookies dunked in coffee with half and half. That started when I was 5 years old.

Wow! 90 minutes one way! I'm in awe. I'll share a secret - eggs make me nauseous. Yep, but I eat one every day (or at M-F). That's why I add a bit of jelly to the english muffin. And, while I don't have quite that commute, I wrap it in foil and take it to work. It does tote well.

I hate breakfast. I've never liked traditional breakfast foods. So I've learned to make alternatives. However, my schedule requires me to have something portable. I have a 90 minute one way commute if the traffic isn't too bad. I found the egg muffin recipe and its actually tolerable, I"ve just started eating breakfast and so far so good with these muffins. I can also see my self with turkey rollups too. Slice of turkey, cheese, and mustard.

I hadn't thought about using the Laughing Cow cheese in a breakfast burrito (I sometimes do one as well). I'll have to remember that.

breakfast works for me. I normally eat a protein bar before working out then eat something more substantial... like turkey meat in a low carb tortilla. sometimes I'll make my own breakfast burrito (depending on time constraints) - using eggs/egg beaters, onions, bell peppers, laughing cow cheese, salsa. YUMMY

ADLIN, that was a good article, I always have ate breakfast, but I do find when I eat a bigger one I am more satisfied and can usually make it to lunch time without feeling famished. Some of my breakfast's are cereal, 1/2% milk, 1/2 banana and ww/pb;fried egg (fixed with cooking spray) 2 lite sausage patties, ww/jelly and fruit; yogurt, bagel and fruit. When I worked I always made sure to eat breakfast before leaving the house.

Great breakfasts going on here. I've gotten putting my breakfast together down to about 5-10 minutes, but I take it to work with me. I can't just get up and eat.

Those sound like good portable options, McKimber. I don't think there's anything wrong with needing a midmorning snack, either - I usually plan on having midmorning and midafternoon snacks that are healthy and keep me going. Fruit and nuts are my favorites, since they're easy and portable.

I don't have a problem with breakfast, except that 2 days a week I have to leave the house at 6:45 a.m. I'm usually not ready to eat anything by then, so I'm trying to come up with "portable" options. I often have cereal with fruit on top (Fiber One), an oatmeal/barley/bulgur concoction with dried cranberries (recipe was in Good Housekeeping), or Pillsbury reduced-fat toaster scrambles (bacon, egg, cheese). None of these options get me all the way to lunch, so I have a couple mid-morning snacks.

I love breakfast! With my spark meal plan i found the most amazing breakfast - cheerios with blueberries! Now i know it sounds silly - but i love it! I love the little burst of flavor with the chrunch! I also love the strawberries with cheerios or total cereal!
I used to be a hard boiled egg, minus the yolk and a cup of yogurt, but found myself hungry before too long into the morning! this works for me!

I wish i could have scrambled eggs every morning on whole wheat toast. Sadly there is no time for cooking in the morning. So... instead i seem to rotate from Oatmeal with lots of cinnamon, non-fat yogurt with granola (or kashi cereal) and total cereal with non-fat milk. I am addicted to Total's new cinnamon/sugar cereal mm mmmm (its like cinamon toast crunch!)

Thanks for sharing.

I do breakfast on the go so it's a granola bar. Then my morning snack at work is oatmeal or yogurt and cereal. I wish I could have a hot breakfast every day! :D

I'm all about my breakfast! Currently I will eat egg whites with cheese, ketchup and tomato on whole wheat toast in an open faced sandwich. Sometimes I switch it up and add a boca/morningstar burger. Add cup of coffee and I'm a happy girl!!

My favorites are non-fat greek yogurt w/ honey/date syrup, fruit, nuts and ground flax seed, whole wheat toast with peanut butter/hummus/low-fat cheese and fruit, dry cereal/oatmeal/whole grain mixed with non-fat yogurt/non-fat milk and fruit, whole grain waffles/pancakes w/ fruit/honey/lite syrup, non-fat cottage cheese w/ fruit/applesauce/chopped veggies...
etc. I always keep snack bags of nuts/dried fruit in my purse. emoticon

I generally do breakfast. I like lots of fruit, and making sure to get protein in there seems tide me over better. I'm lazy, but when I get in the habit in the winter time--oatmeal porridge or Cream of Wheat are great--and pretty cheap too!

I often have these on hand for a healthy breakfast: English muffin with honey, Honey Nut Joes O's (TJ's cheerios), oatmeal, fruit & cottage cheese, wheat french toast or homemade fruit smoothie, frozen berries, banana and soy milk in the blender with a bit of protein and fiber mix. I have a hard time with breakfast because I am seldom in the mood for food. I seem to have a hearty stomach so if eating leftover pizza or like this morning, left over baked beans is what I want, then I eat it. Nothing is off limits for me when it comes to breakfast because I absolutely struggle with food in the morning. But I do my best to make wise decisions and more often than not, a healthy breakfast leads to a healthy day overall.

The only thing you can change is yourself, but sometimes that changes everything.

It's pretty much always fruit and yogurt with ground flaxseed and granola for me. In the winter I often add some oatmeal with maple syrup, yum.

I love breakfast. For me it is time with my girls (I have 4 cats), the newspaper, and morning news on tv.

I try to vary my breakfast between cereal, eggs (substitute), peanut butter and yogurt smoothies with flaxseed. And of course what is breakfast with out coffee. I make sure that I have had one serving from each of the food groups.

Hi all. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and SP. It'll probably still take a bit, but slow is good.

Read this article/blog today about Breakfast being the most important meal. At first I thought it would be the typical eat breakfast article, but it has a bit more information.

Article can be found here:

So, do you eat breakfast? Do you eat a hearty breakfast? This month's challenge is to eat breakfast.

I usually have a breakfast muffin (egg w/ a little cottage cheese and a slice of ham on a whole wheat english muffin) but I'm also trying to find a way to beef it up a bit.

So, cheers to breakfast.
