Sunday I did 40 minutes of low impact aerobics with my mom.

Monday I am going to cut my grass which will take about 30 minutes, and then I will do some sort of strength training after that.

So i kind of fell off the wagon. Hopefully i can end May strong and not miss another day! I moved this weekend so Sat and Sun consisted of moving boxes around all day. I am pretty sore from head to toe... so that counts as exercise right?

So I went walking in Edmonton's Rivervalley. Very beautiful to walk in the spring, but today was very, very windy. We're not used to it here. 98 minutes of aerobic walking, some stop lights on the way back to the car, but a great workout with hills. A little sun (perhaps wind) burnt, but I am feeling great!

I'm starting May a little late, but I would like to join in the challenge. I am planning on going to the gym tonight and then again tomorrow. Saturday, the plan is to walk in the Rivervalley (lots of stairs) for at least 2 hours.

Ok so I just got back from my Costa Rica trip. I did well until I got back of course...

5/1 - 2 hour walk
5/2 - 2 hour hike through canopy of jungle
5/3 - 1 hour rowing down a river, 1 hour hike down and up a waterfall (450 steps in all!) & another 1 hour hike around the basin of a volcanoe
5/4 - 2 hour night hike through the jungle
5/5 - 2 hour zip line tour through the jungle (which suprizingly is more work than it sounds like!) & a 2 hour hike around a coffee/sugar cane plantation
5/6 - 30 min walk around the city
5/7 - 30 min walk to and from restaurants (not far but in 95 degree weather and uphill... its not so easy) & 30 minute snorkeling
5/8 - 1.5 hour hike through jungle to beaches (that didn't actually exist!)
5/9 - 30 minute walk to/from restaurant down the hill and back up...
5/10 - I was back home and now working on moving my bf out of his place... 1.5 hours of packing and moving boxes.
5/11 - I didn't do so well here... mothers day is hard with multiple families!

Hopefully today i will get back to my gym routine which is way less fun than hiking the jungle terrain but its time to get back to reality...

I walked over my lunch hour today at work. I managed to get in a good 35 minute walk. It felt really good - a great break in the day. I still had time to eat a sandwich and some sunchips before going back to work. It was a good thing to do. I may try to incorporate that into my workweek on a regular basis.

Yesterday (May 1) I did 45 minutes of vigorous stationary biking, and today I did weight training and 40 min on the gazelle machine. I just had a minor outpatient surgery and can only do non/low impact things until Monday....so Monday I'll be back to running:)

EVERY day? I love the idea of a challenge like this, but I also know (from sad experience) that I need at least one recovery day each week if I'm going to avoid getting burned out (again). So how 'bout it, can I slide in a recovery day, or is the every day thing your final offer?

sounds great! but why wait till may? today i did a ballet class (1.5hr) and rode my bike to and from class, and to the market.

I'm in. I am actually heading to Costa Rica on May 1st. With all the jungle and volcanoes to see I should be able to get at least 30 minutes in each day while we are gone :). I will keep a log and update everyone when I get back.

I'm in! I also walk to work, so I have no excuse to fail at the 30 minutes. I should probably additionally challenge myself to get 30 minutes in one solid block, in addition to the walk to/from work!

I'm in!
On days I walk to work (on days it's not raining) I get in an easy 25 minutes of cardio walking to and from work. Looks like I'll have to start taking the long walk home so I can easily get in those extra 5 minutes! :o)

I am currently training for a sprint triathlon on June 8, so I had BETTER be getting at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. Yesterday morning I did 1 hour on the bike, and then I had 45 minutes of running in a tri clinic last night.

Count me in emoticon I was doing well with walking my dog before and after work each day...but recently have been helping my husband take care of his aunt, so life and daily routines have been turned upside down emoticon I just joined SparkPeople about 3 wks ago and need to start again. The May challenge will help me kick start my program!
