Wow those roasted pears sound deliciously savory.

I made a really good sandwich the other day-sauteed thickly sliced mushrooms, put them on
whole grain bread toasted with good melted cheese & slapped it together. Made a sauce on
the side with low-cal mayo & wasabi. Very yum!

In trying to cook from seasonal produce, found this recipe, tried it, it's luscious:
Roasted Pear Salad
3 Pears, halved, cored, and small sliver cut off bottom so they sit evenly in roasting pan
1/4 cup vinegraitte dressing of your choice
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
Bring above to boil then remove from heat
Mix together:
2 oz. blue cheese
1/4 cup pecans that have been toasted in saute pan
1/4 cup diced dried cherries
thyme to taste, fresh or dried - your choice
Put into hollow of pears
Drizzle dressing over top and around pears
Roast for 15 - 20 minutes
Serve over romaine lettuce leaves
