It does take a bit of an adjustment.

One question for you though. Do you eat anything other than bread/toast for breakfast? If you eat eggs, you can make a 2 egg omlette w/cheese & spinach and add some ham in if that's available. It's very filling and even better it comes out to a 0/0!

It's just a suggestion, but I thought I'd throw it out there - not just for you, but all members.

Hang in there and have a good day!

Thanks! Did better today, I think:

B: smoothie made with 2 strawberries, 1/4 c. greek yogurt, 1 c. almond milk, 1 stevia packet and a sprinkle of Benefiber (this was yummy but I was hungry 1 1/2 hrs later!)

S: broccoli salad with bacon & cheddar

L: chicken salad, 1 oz white cheddar cheese

S: roasted edamame (lots of fiber & good!)

D: artichoke chicken breast, mashed califlower & sauted spinach

Will probably have a glass (or 2) of red wine later.

I know I shouldn't weigh myself yet and I'm not gonna count it as official, but when I hopped on the scale this morning it said 180 - that would be 4 lbs in 4 days! I know it's probably mainly water weight (noticed I've been peeing a lot! lol) and I don't figure I'll continue at that rate. We'll see what it says when I weigh in for real on Friday.

It sounds like you're right on track there Nichole. Like you said, you will need more fiber and carbs. How about some nuts, like almonds or walnuts. It's hard though when you're not hungry.

I find that I can't get enough fiber, even with all the vegetables I eat so I have to take a probiotic once a day.

This is only my 3rd day so feel free to offer suggestions/comments.

B: Sausage patty with egg and slice of cheddar, coffee w/cream 0/0
L: Chicken salad (homemade) on a bed of spinach, hummus w/pita chips 1/2
D: Chicken wings (no sauce), 1/2 c. blackberries 3.5/0

Need more fiber and carbs to fill my day. I might have a snack of a high fiber tortilla with no sugar peanut butter later but I'm not hungry yet.

Not sure how today will go - I'm having an egg and peppers/onions omelet for breakfast for my Fast Track meal, and then will be out doing errands and having fun the rest of the day. I will bring some nuts for a snack, maybe some cheese sticks. Not sure where lunch and dinner will be, I will make the best choices I can.

you will have to let me know how the swiss chard is. I know that when I try new things it sometimes is really good for my diet, especially if it is a healthy addition. I am back off of the grains today (well, mostly, I ended up eating a little bit of bread with my chicken) and it feels *really* good.

Sounds like you are back on the right track Dawn. I am trying to revamp my menus because we are going on vacation next month and I hope to be down a little. I just bought some swiss chard but have not idea how to cook it. Trying some new things....thats a first. I think I need to get more veggies in and good protein and maybe a little less grains in my day.

Today I had high fiber cereal w/ unsweetened almond milk for breakfast.

I had a kale/banana/apple/almond milk smoothie (yummy green smoothie)

Lunch I had hormel chili and steamed carrots with butter.

I had one square of dark chocolate for a little happy snack...

Haven't decided what I'm going to have for dinner. Probably chicken.

I put in the whole carcass and let it simmer- then I take the meat off the bones- toss the bones and put the meat and other ingrediants into the soup.

There is nothing like a costco chicken to make a number of meals:
Day 1 Ate a drum stick and salad, cut off the breasts for latter use. Put the carcass in a big pot with chicken broth, a container of Costco pre-made pico de Gallo, chili powder, garlic, cumin cilantro and salt and pepper- simmered that for soup- top with grated cheese and sour cream (Or not)
Next meal Cobb salad- made with chicken, hard boiled eggs and cheese, final meal: chicken fettucini with sautéed broccoli and red pepper ant Trader Joes Fettucini sauce serve over spaghetti squash. emoticon

Breakfast today: one egg, ever easy, with one ounce cheddar, rolled up in a warmed (over a flame) La Tortilla Factory low carb wrap. Yummy! You GOTTA warm those suckers, and over a flame is the best way to do that! I just turn on my burner and stick it right on there!

S/C value: 1/1
Cals 285, fiber 12

I don't count my coffee and cream - I use Classic 40% whipping cream in my coffee, which has an s/c value of 0/0 for one Tablespoon. Yeah!

Made a great dinner last night for friends- Now Orleans BBQ shrimp for an appetizer ( guests had bread with it). A homemade caesar salad, ( I skipped croutons) grilled pork tenderloin in mustard sauce, grilled asparagus with olive oil and balsamic and chocolate mousse for desert ( substituted to unsweetened chocolate and truvia from 72% chocolate) Guests loved it and I stayed on track.

Hi!
No I didn't make the dressing-well not yet-I splurged on Cindy's Kitchen which has all really good ingredients and I hope to find time to make it at home because it will be cheaper-it's insane at $5 a bottle
I try to eat healthy but that is making up for my lack of exercise and occasional binge. I hope to get it all down eventually in more than one way! emoticon

I finally tried the cauliflower pizza today and it was delicious. You grate the cauliflower up and add it with cheese and egg and you can't even taste cauliflower at all. I'm going to try the eggplant one next. If you haven't yet tried it, you'll have to...

I am making myself a green smoothie in the morning that has too many sugar grams for one meal-about 20 BUT it has no white sugar the sugar is from blueberries and 1/2 banana+the rest is~~2 huge handful of baby leaf spinach+1 cup unsweetened almond/soy/coconut milk +ground flaxseed+3 tablespoons of Nutiva Hemp protein
http://nutiva.com/products/hemp-protein-
powder-organic/
That is breakfast and that holds me until LUNCH which is usually a salad with beans/veggie soup and some sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds
SUPPER is a vegan casserole and some more greens! emoticon
I am not hungry in between meals-my meals are pretty big & I am losing weight and feeling energetic-at some point I will count sugar and carbs again.

Today I had 2 slices of bread with peanut butter, which made it 3/1.

Lunch was chicken strips 3oz(maybe even less) 0/1.

Dinner will probably be tuna fish sandwich or a wrap. Either one will only really be about 1 carb!

I had absolutely the best lunch today with only 1 gram of sugar! Nachos -- 10 tortilla rounds, boca ground meat substitute, veggie shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, fresh salsa from Sam's (with no sugar), torn spinach leaves on top and jalapeno peppers!!!!! In a word, "YUM"..
