That sounds good, I would add ham to that.

Isn't it funny how all of a sudden you can look down at your stomach and wonder to yourself, "Who put that there"?

Could not find the Clemmey's ice cream from the book, but I did find a kind called So Delicious with only 1 g of sugar - 1 serving of carbs (made with coconut milk and sweetened with erythritol). It was a great treat tonight!

also I see that Wyman's wild blueberries are 10 grams sugar per cup which is a bit less sugar than regularl blueberries. Of course they are frozen so...need to defrost or use them in a smoothie.
I would use 1/2 cup which is 5 grams of sugar and make sure there are no other sugar grams for that meal-or less with say something like cottage cheese. 1/2 cup cottage cheese is 3 grams and then 1/4 cup blueberries is 2.5-close enough I think emoticon

I just tried Dreamfield pasta- Used the angel hair pasta and mixed it with sautéed vegetables (Peppers, mushrooms, onion, asparagus spinach and garlic) added alfredo sauce and served with a side salad. My husband thought it tasted as good or better than high carb pasta. The carb count is a bit high but so is the fiber so net carbs are 5.

I am using two new things this week that I am really excited about!

1) chia seeds - 2 Tablespoons are 120 calories, 10 grams carbs, and 10 grams of fiber, no sugar. They are acting as a bread replacement for me this week. I put them in 4 ounces of water or coconut milk and add a little non sugar sweetener and it's almost like a cold oatmeal. I am still playing around with them.

2) Coconut flour! 2 tablespoons are 8 grams of carbs, 1 gram of sugar and 80 calories. I have been trying out muffins, breads, and cookies with this flour, and so far I am loving it! The baked goods are coming out pretty dense so far, but very filling. This has cut my carb intake down substantially without sacrificing fiber.

Another great Costco find, ya'll!!

Mary's Gone Crackers Original wheat free - one serving (1 ounce) is 13 crackers. Cals 140, fat 5, carbohydrates 21, 0 grams sugar, 3 grams protein.

These are awesome! I can see using these for a lot of things - tuna salad, egg salad, peanut butter, cream cheese, etc. etc. I ignore the extra carb (bad me) and let one serving stay at an S/C value of 1/0. If I wanted to be a stickler, I guess I could just eat 12 crackers and be within the limit.

I was a queen of the frozen foods like WW and Lean Cuisine but since I have started the BFC I no longer eat those meals. I love to make my own pizza's too. I have made them with pita bread but now my favorite way of making them is with Naan Flat bread yummy. I found mine at costco in the freezer section but many stores carry them.

Diana , I thought of you today as I ate my 1/4 cup of V8 Tomato soup. It had 7 grams of sugar in a half cup, so I just watered it down and ate less. I'm going to try that recipe someone posted making it with tomato sauce. Anyhow, I had a baked grilled cheese/devilled ham sandwich where you assemble the sandwich, dip it in egg like french toast and bake for 20 minutes. It was different and quite good.

Sugar is still killing me. Everything I pick up has sugar in it -- even whole wheat hot dog buns!!

Joanne I have been craving tomato soup with my toasted cheese sandwich thanks for that recipe I will have to give it a try.

Shopgirl I believe that is right for the pickles. I will have to check out that pizza. I usually make my own out of Naan flat bread but that could be another option.

Today I found pickles with the following info:

Vlasic Zesty Dill Spears

According to the label, 1 oz is:
Less than 1 g carbs
No sugar

So it would be 0/0? That doesn't sound right for cucumbers.

Today I tried the DiGiorno Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza. Three small slices is 3g sugar and 26 g carbs, and it was good for a pizza craving.

For belly fat cure tomato soup try this (tastes like campbells tomato soup)

8 oz. can tomato sauce (look for the lowest sugar count sauce you can find)
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup water
1 single packet of stevia

Mix together in saucepan, heat & serve. Um Um Good!

Courtney - I'm with you.. I love hummus and think it's somewhat addictive. Whenever I go to the frig to look for a snack, I usually grab the hummus -- good on crackers, on celery, on tortillas (heated for just a sec in the microwave). In a word, YUM...

Over the weekend, I made a pizza out of zucchini - yummo! - and fried pork chops (using Almond flour & Parmesan cheese) along with my cauli-mash potatoes (this time adding some dry Ranch powder to the mix) and broccoli. All of it was so good and no one realized the pizza was made out of zucchini! Who knew that eating healthy could taste so good! emoticon

I have been craving soup since it has been cold outside but since tomato soup is so high on the sugar count I found some good soup at costco the rotisserie chicken soup...1 cup is 3/1 not to bad. I fix it with a toasted cheese sandwich and I am good to go.

That sounds really good. I know I have to omit the rice now days because of the carb count but every once in awhile I dont think it hurts as long as we do good the rest of the day. I am hoping to get more people involved with food finds and recipes this year. I find it really does help people and for people like me who dont really cook a lot of new recipes.

I don't have any food finds to share yet, but this is day three on BFC for me. I am so happy to have this as a resource. Thank you so much.

I had a naked burito at Qdoba today with light rice, black beans, shredded beef, lettuce and guacamole. It was super filling, but blasted my carb count for the day. Next time no rice. Sugar-1, Carb servings- 4 (78 grams) and Fiber-18. I like to track that too. Fortunately I am so full from drinking my water that dinner will be some sort of meat and green veggie. I am still going to come in under today.

I have a fast and easy pasta recipe to share. It's called Angel Hair Pasta with Italian Spinach and serves 4. (Calories, fat and cholesterol were reduced by using olive oil no-stick spray and a reduced amount of olive oil to saute garlic and spinach and by using fat free cottage cheese.)

1(9-ounce)package fresh angel hair pasta (whole wheat if you can find). 1 tablespoon olive oil. 2 cloves minced garlic. 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained. 1 cup fat free cottage cheese. 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese.

Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside. Meanwhile lightly spray an unheated large skillet with olive oil no-stick spray. Add the olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook/stir for 30 seconds. Add the spinach and cook/stir for 2 minutes. Then stir in cottage cheese and parm cheese and cook/stir until parm cheese melts. Add hot pasta and gently toss until well combined. Enjoy!

Well, the only gluten free ones they have right now are the chocolate chip almond and the meltaways. I have only tried the chocolate chip one so far and I love them. The meltaways sound wonderful as well. I'm going to order those the next time. I'll let you know how I like those when I try them.

Headed to the low carb store to get a mini cheese cake yummy. Sweetened with xylitol and has only 1 carb gram. I dont know if any of you have low carb stores in your area but if you do you should check them out.

If you have a costco in your area you should check out the panko breaded shrimp in the freezer section...they are so good and low bfc counts.

Wow that sounds really good. You can use califlower in so many recipes. I am going to try it like mashed potatoes and add a little sour cream salt and pepper and call it good!

Last night I fixed the Shrimp & Pepper stir-fry that's in the BFC book but instead of serving it over brown rice, I chopped up califlower in the food processor (chop it very fine) and sauteed it with chopped onion for about 10 minutes and used that as my rice substitute. It was great! Even my somewhat picky husband loved it and said he would rather have that than rice any day!

Jocymc thanks for sharing the recipe. I will have to check it out. I am not much of a cook but have started cooking a lot more since I have been on the bfc plan.

I love starbucks too! I use to get the skinny vanilla lattes but now that i am doing the bfc I have switched to iced coffee with cream and I use xylitol or 1pkg sun crystals. I did not care to much for truvia either but I can use it in my cereal.

Found a good recipe for "Pork Sirloin Roast and Vegetables" and modified it. My daughter (the non-cook) made it for dinner tonight and it turned out delicious.

I'm a starbucks fanatic and i'm hooked on the Americano with heavy cream. I have to get out of the habit of using splenda though. I always keep it in my purse and use it in my coffee. I just can't let it go :o( Not a huge fan of the truvia but I'm working on it.

No real new food finds but when I was sick with the stomach flu I stopped by starbucks and got a refresh tea and now I am addicted. They sale the tazo refresh teas in the grocery store now I will be drinking that at night...it helps with any cravings you might have and taste wonderful. I would also like for us to get the food finds going and any recipes you have tried. Newbies and oldies always enjoy seeing new and exciting things.
